  1. Dunno anything about any of that but I am anxious to see Phallic Academy’s mascot.

  2. So bring critical of your school is frowned upon here? i replied whiting should of never started season after being taken to woodshed by griffith, and two members replied with “disdain” if we aren’t being critical how are we preparing players and coaches for real life? going further of a team isn’t successful is it the players or coaches fault? from afar I watched whiting and I couldn’t believe the lack of numbers and size of the players, I feel bad for the coaches. Or is it there fault for not getting enough players out and developing them? No matter what I want whiting to win but I will be critical of them as well.

  3. Frankly, yes. It's all unicorns and rainbows when it comes to Indiana High School Football, where all the lineman are strong, all the coaches are good-looking, and all the quarterbacks are above average. At least according to the denizens of the GID.

  4. Coaches maybe. Teenagers never. STATE LAW!

  5. You and @Footballking16 are arguing a point that no one has claimed to be true. @Titan32 said The only person that even tried to compare Week 2 vs. a sectional game was FootballKing. His point was a regular season game in Indiana vs a regular season game in Illinois or Ohio with a qualifying system. Personally, I do not like the "all-in" format for our football tournament. (It really shouldn't be called a playoff, to be honest.) I do agree with Titan32's main premise - the current regular season DOES mean something. If someone thinks it doesn't, then I am afraid they are missing out on the big picture of HS football.

  6. Won multiple state titles? No pressure. Ranked number one in the state? Cakewalk. Nationally ranked? Not even breaking a sweat. Mentioned in an award winning article on the universally acclaimed Gridiron Digest High School Football Forum? Nobody can live up to those expectations.

  8. What an ignorant statement, shameful.

  9. Not a chance in hell a coach would say winning a conference title is more satisfying than a state title. Delusional.

  10. Are you telling us that Cathedral's sectional game against a 2-5 Terre Haute South is going to be more intense than their week two game against the defending 6A state champion Carmel?

  11. Maybe if the IHSAA approves 8 man football we will see quite a few new teams.

  12. The more schools, the merrier. I'm hoping (against hope) that Barr-Reeve will start fielding a team. They have some great athletes in that section of Daviess County.

  13. The mighty bluffton tiggers hung 70 on prairie heights Friday. Offense set a bevy of records. Amazing! Full page spread in the local paper! Seems there is no stopping this juggernaut. Eastside ... BEWARE as you must to travel to the tigger den. Luers and Fairfield have deployed their scouts in anticipation of the inevitable showdown.

  16. We are not talking about post season play here, of course play off games mean more when they might be the last game you ever play. Some believe there is no relevance to regular season games unless there is a playoff qualification system, to each their own, but even if one doesn't care about conference implications...down here in SWI every Friday is the superbowl. I am sorry if some parts of the state don't get to experience that. There is nothing you could have done last night in SWI with regard to qualification to change last nights Castle vs Jasper or Memorial vs North or even Gibson Southern vs Princeton. All of these games had specific undertones, nuances, sub plots and meanings...nothing about qualification could have impacted that. Make your blow-out arguments and arguments regarding impending qualification after seeding begins....but I will never buy the BS about our games needing some sort of adrenaline boost. It's just not true.

  17. It's time to be critical towards the IHSAA for not having seeding or neutral site regional & semi state games. 😆 Can't be critical towards the OHSAA this year as they went all in and seeded all the teams for just this year. Next year back to being critical for not allowing all in towards them.

  18. U can can be critical. Calls, numbers, coaching, choice at the concession stand... whatever. But to state that the program shouldn’t have been restarted was in poor taste imo as I noted. Especially in this climate. Many schools weren’t allowed to play this past weekend. Great that Whiting had the opportunity.

  19. I’ll get this party started. GS over HH The Ridge over The Vern NH over dem Bulldogs Salem over CC Semis The Ridge over GS Salem over NH Championship The Ridge over Salem Now i don’t want all of you falling in love with these picks. I’m doing really shitty in my NFL pick em league and I ate a gas station cheeseburger last night.

  20. It’s a fine line to walk. You can have an opinion for sure about your local program. However, at some point, negative opinions can cause division amongst supports or within the team itself.

  21. IMO, this is one of the most over-looked issues, esp. at Semi-State level in 1A, 2A, et al where one team can be forced to travel several hours to play. There are also complications that arise from the tradition of allowing Visiting team to pick game day/night while Home teams typically set start times. There has been a bit of gamesmanship in this regard over the years. Hopefully sites could be found that are reasonably travel neutral and have more equitable seating arrangements than typical high school fields provide, particularly on the Visitor's side. Some sites bring in extra seating but these are usually poor set ups. Turf should be a requirement too, to cope with potential weather issues.

  22. Well if the games are open to the public and covered by media I don’t see any reason why not. Also coaches salaries paid by tax dollars so another reason to be critical.

  23. I guess the question is.... do you think being critical of teenagers and their coaches on a forum is your responsibility ? Are you really preparing them for life? Isn’t that their family and coaches role?

  24. Man, who would do this? Not a Cathedral thing. If we cared about injury or resting kids, we’d never schedule any of these teams. We want the best. Always. Look at our wrestling or girl’s volleyball schedules if you beed clarity.

  27. Any insights on the LCC/BC game? Is LCC still running short-handed or is BC starting to get some traction in the building of their program? Or a bit of both? I'm hoping that BC is starting to see some benefits of the work that their youth coaches have been putting in. Really good group of guys over there and I truly wish them the best and appreciate their engagement working with the BC kids.

  29. Unlikely. Someone’s got to lose. And whoever loses, their fans will say they didn’t go all out because they were saving themselves for the playoffs.

  35. You were almost perfect this week. Judson didn’t turn the ball over. Judson completed the biggest pass of the game. Alas, Czarencki’s leg was a non-factor. He did a great acting job pretending to get hit on a field goal. Refs pooped their panties on that one. They also attempted a 47 yard field goal that was about ten yards short.

  36. Sadly it was not 2-0 at any point. However, the Jays had a chance to get another safety and just missed it. Jays converted a FG with 54 seconds to go to take the lead by a kid named Stone Cold Peyton Roberts. Nick Urankur I believe has kids when he isn’t power cleaning 500lbs.

  37. I need to know: was the game 2-0 at all at any point in Jays game? I mean 9-7, did Judson miss a PAT and make a FG? Did Nick Uranker have a kid already ?? some people are dying to know!!! Those people, is really just me.

  39. Final Scores on the Night Memorial over VL, 21-6 Jasper over North, 23-16 MD over Harrison, 49-15 Reitz over Bosse, 49-0 SIAC Champ Central over Castle, 14-3 Any surprises on the night? Discuss below: Memorial's backup QB did very well tonight going around 12 of 13 with 120 yards with no turnovers after Pence went down in the 2nd quarter. Memorial's defense was dominant on the night with 4-5 sacks. For VL, the offense struggled the entire night, however, the defense was pretty solid as they had a good amount of TFL and around 3 sacks.

  40. Come on Gippers. LN is a team loaded with athletes, several D1. They probably gave CG some looks they haven’t seen this season. Exactly what they needed headed into next week

  41. I don’t know a thing about either team. And I never once digressed that Sagarin was 100% accurate or the end be all. But it’s a lot more accurate (and non-bias) than the human eye. I respectfully decline.

  45. I remember Reitz hosting Silver Creek (when they had just started their program) when SC was supposed to host. The IHSAA deemed the stadium unfit to host. I also remember Mater Dei hosting a game at North Posey because all the fields in the city were occupied for Round 1. But I don't remember a switch ever due to a regular season game/result.

  46. With 5a and 6a having the week of the 23rd off in the tournament, I would bet 1 Gazzillion dollars that neither Center Grove nor Cathedral will be letting off the gas next week. If you want to call this a trap game for CG, then I could buy that, but Coach Moore and his staff will not allow that to happen.
