Respectfully disagree. This is a good football team that needs to run the football 75% of the time. Caleb is perfect for the job. Great leader and he has his teammates trust. JMO but we are in trouble if we ask a 9the grader to lead this group. He made a nice pass vs Central’s backups in a blowout.

Maybe those government school extracurriculars are not as interesting to the current student body as they once were? Maybe more students want or need jobs? As for parents being overworked, when more and more of your paycheck goes to the government to pay for state and federal entitlements you have to work more to have that nice SUV, McMansion, DirectTV w/ the max number of channels, multiple cell phones, etc.

This is something that Muda needs to know about. He most likely will have an explanation for or be able to delve into this and come up with an answer. He’s pretty much the brains on this kind of issue.

7-1 overall through two weeks of conference play for the Temp. An exciting slate of games this week that should shape the conference race and reveal some things. Fishers @ Brownsburg: The Tigers suffered their first loss of the season, in lopsided fashion AT HOME against their rival. Surely they will be in the mindset of erasing that taste out of their mouths. Brownsburg, on the other hand, went on the road and dealt their rival a lopsided defeat of their own in disposing of Avon. Looking at the combined record of the teams that Fishers has defeated, gives me the notion that they are still a bit of a pretender and are still not ready for the top level of the HCC. Consequently, Brownsburg boasts a victory over what is turning out to be a solid BD outfit and has played Cathedral closer than anyone. I'll say Brownsburg here. 31-14. Franklin Central @ Avon: Biggest win in years for the Flashes as they took down 5A powerhouse Zionsville, whereas Avon continues to reel. This contest may very well be a battle to avoid finishing in the basement of the conference (a thought that would have shocked Avon fans a month ago). One team is riding high and another is riding high in desperation. Bettors will tell you if it feels too good to be true it may be. I'll stick with Avon here simply because they are at home. Orioles win 27-23. Westfield @ Hamilton Southeastern: The game of the week in the conference and maybe even the state of Indiana. One team (Westfield) was expected to contend for the conference title all along, whereas the other (HSE) is a surprise contender and cemented itself as so by dispatching of Fishers in dominating fashion last week. This may be the biggest non-rivalry home contest for HSE in many years. Both teams seem to be getting better each week. I'll go with Westfield on the road but am not very confident in it as HSE has proved many folks wrong thus far. 'Rocks win 30-24. Zionsville @ Noblesville: Both teams got off to fast starts and are now riding two game losing streaks. Neither wants to make it three. The Eagles seemed to take the disappointment of the Westfield loss to Franklin Township last weekend and it bit them. Noblesville's feast or famine offense has come up empty the last two weeks. I think this one will be close but I expect Zionsville to come out on top. 27-17. What say you?

Let me clarify, a long trip is beneficial when the game isn't a blowout. The series is 1-1 that past 2 years. That's beneficial in my book.

Teams are going to go through rebuilding cycles. Those who follow the program expected last year and this year might be one of them with the Class of 2020 graduating and a really small senior class this year (and there was some regression last year with a lot of new players and an unreal amount of injuries and they went 8-2), but NP has more than held its own in 5A (2 state titles and a state runner-up in six years), to the point where they've achieved the points necessary to stay up three times. Coach Ralph has lost nine games at NP and every one except the 2017 sectional loss to Zionsville has been to a ranked team (and Zionsville is always underrated because they play in a 6A conference). Nobody feels like these players are being "punished" because of the success of teams that came before. The attitude here has been "we've earned the right to play in 5A. It's a bigger challenge. It's going to make you be better. Embrace it." If NP goes back to 4A next year, it will be interesting to see some new (and familiar) teams again, but it'll also be weird because we've gotten used to the October and November path being games against Zionsville, Columbus East and Whiteland.

Eastern Hancock has picked up South Putnam, whose game with Edgewood had been canceled. Rematch of the legendary 1985 semistate game that was decided by a millimeter on a pass to the back of the end zone. TA was EH's DC in 1985. He once told me he was pastoring a small church at the time. The game came down to one play - a pass ruled out of bounds - by the slimmest of margins - that clinched the win for EH (which would go on to win the Class A title the next week). Nearly the entire team and coaching staff were in the pews that next Sunday. South Putnam went on to win the Class A title the next year.

That's a solid guess. Hopefully it will be the Wildcats from Evansville, but we have a lot to get better at if we are going to beat Jasper. Memorial took us to the woodshed. Hopefully that was a wake up call

I really liked the QB change for Pioneer. Basic exchange issues seemed to be taken care of. Pioneer will win their sectional if they can stay healthy.

Not that he would leave at this point, but bad timing on the part of USC. Had they made this move when they should have, they could have at least been able to talk to Urban. Cathedral has brought it back. We have some help from alum that have a lawn business (Turf Dogs) and they have done a masterful job not only refurbishing the field but also maintaining it. A grass field has never been so good!☺️

Covington @ Seeger - Passing attack will be too much for the Patriots to handle. Rumor has it that Karrfalt is leading the nation in passing yards. The Trojan offense is a tough one to stop.. Covington 42 Seeger 21 RP @ NV - Look for both teams to bounce back after tough games last week. NV has shown us that they can score a lot of points but they have not shown us that they can stop any team from scoring. NV 40 RP 24 Attica @ FC - Tough times up in Attica right now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. FC continues to only beat bad teams.. FC wins this one 32 - 12 PH @ GC - If the Wolfs can't get things rolling here soon I'm not to confident in their odds to win a sectional.
