Not much doubt who the best player on the field is today.5 points

Proud of our boys and their playoff run. Great experience for our community, can't wait to do it again. Mt Vernon had some crazy speed for sure.4 points

I also think they should have a retired official in the booth to lend expertise when needed. Hopefully at some obscene rate of compensation. 😉4 points

99 receptions 1751 yards 24 TDs monster semi state game and follows it up with a monster championship game …..I think it’s about time he gets a few of those stars next to his recruiting profile.4 points

People always ask me, "doesn't it get old winning so much?" I tell 'em, NEVER. It's always a new cast of players and families and winning provides memories for them forever. I feel blest to be a Cathedral alum and still an Irish fan. Tradition is something that is hard to grasp unless you've experienced it. Not only is Cathedral consistently good on the athletic fields, the quality education continues after all these years. It's heartwarming for this old grad to see the quality continue. Zionsville played about as good a game as they could. They've been a challenge for two years now. Hats off to the effort they put forth in the last two years. Looking forward to more of the same as we move forward next year. For the Irish, Danny O'Neil is amazing. For one so young he has the poise of a one much older. I can't wait to see what's ahead for this young man! Jaron Tibbs is one of the best wide receivers in the state of Indiana. I've said this all year, but he really come up big on the big stage, so to speak. And he's only a junior! Jaron is also a pretty fair basketball player. The defense bent but didn't break. The Eagles presented some things that made it difficult to defend. Very diversified, although once they fell behind they became a bit more one dimensional. I don't worry much about those who dislike the Irish because they win too much. I've seen race drivers booed because they have won too much. It's sort of a badge of honor. Winning at Cathedral comes at a price for the players. It's a year long process as they just don't just show up in August expecting to play well. They will be back in the weight room in a couple of weeks preparing for a new challenge next season. It's always good to see old friends at the Finals and during the season. At my age I've made a lot of friends over the years, and I feel lucky to still be able to get to the games and cheer the guys on. One criticism of the process. The IHSAA may consider starting the games at 11am as it got real late on us last night. I didn't get home until after midnight, and I live relatively close to LOS, maybe 20 minutes away at the most. I would never suggest shortening the after game ceremony because the teams deserve that. The biggest downer is that the football season is over. It will be a long dry spell for us. This season seemed to fly by. I hope to be back in the stands in August, and I hope to see a lot of Irish fans out there too. One more thing. I'd like to give a shout out to the Irish bagpiper, Robert Wood. He adds a very unique touch to the Irish, leading them on the field before the games. I feel a nap coming on!4 points

Funny but I use that observation with Mrs. Lysander all the time.3 points

Big congratulations to the Titans! Way to represent the conference and the rest of southern Indiana. There was so much smack talked about football south of Indy and now they gotta eat their words!3 points

Congrats to Mt. Vernon! Speed does kill. Great run Northridge! Maybe one of the greatest playoff runs ever in Indiana.2 points

Not playing well because they haven't seen a team this good in the tournament yet?1 point

December 16 is the date of the meeting if I remember correctly.1 point

New Pal… from what the IHSAA has said, they will make a decision on enrollment and how the success factor will be dealt with at a later date this year. Cathedral to 6A isn’t a lock either. Cathedral very well could be back in 5A next year. New Pal will be very good next year. If they are in 4A they will be a top 2 team.1 point

I was on the road for over 10 hours today coming home from my sister’s in Maryland. I did listen on SiriusXM….and I thought as it ended, I FULLY expected a few posts under the influence of a few beverages when I got home. 🤣🤣🤣1 point

Take a tournament - not a playoff. Then blind draw matchups and divide by geography. Sometimes the last game can be anticlimactic. I hope Northridge doesn’t hang their heads over the great season they had. Quite an accomplishment1 point

Wait!! Up 20-0 in a game you are clearly going to win by whatever you want and Lidy calls onside kick. Wow1 point

Northridge just had 4-5 players trip and fall on the run out of the tunnel. That’s never a good way to start. Lol1 point

IHSAA claimed last year a "null year" with COVID thus making this the first year of the Success Factor cycle. Whether that holds any water as they evaluate next season is simply a wait-and-see for the Irish faithful. We'll have a little drop-off, but not much. And our freshmen class is our most talented since this senior class. So, wherever they want us, we'll rally.1 point

Reading comprehension an issue?? FB16's incessant name calling is hilarious. One resorts to name calling when they have nothing left of value in a discussion. So, they hide behind a computer and resort to names. I just find it flat out funny when one hits a wall and resorts back to junior high behavior. If I ever do need a therapist, I will definitely hit you up for referrals. But I promise...it won't be driven by a high school football forum. Not even Olymian06..... 😆1 point

I’m not superstitious but the first 3 championship games were won by teams in dark jerseys and 2 of the 3 team colors were maroon and gold. I have to go with the maroon and gold dark jerseys in this one too. Let’s go Mater Dei.1 point

A little late to the party, he’s already taken all the punches lol His team also won the 5A title, so not sure he’s too worried either lol. congrats to the Titans. Helluva season and well deserved title.1 point

Interesting take… Nobody seemed to care when they weren’t winning titles, but when they start winning them again…here we are. Good battle by your boys today. Nothing to hang their heads about.. back to back making it to the state championship is damn near impossible to do.1 point

In the past a flaw of the coaches voting for all crews is some crews get 80-100 votes and some only get 20-30. The excess votes are usually the result of a crew (especially the crew chief) advancing in other sports and becoming well known there. All those extra votes are most likely positive (aka 5) votes. We were told this year the ballot did only list the crews who were on the school's schedule using data acquired from the assigning siites (mostly Arbiter and Eventlink). I'm not sure if that was true, but if it is, the crews getting all the extra friendly votes are likely less impactful. I have talked with coaches who do not give a crew a vote rather than giving the crew a bad vote. I don't know how common that is, but I do know it happens. I heard about a coach who only gives votes to crews who earned a 5 in his eyes. He learned last year if you only give 5s, the IHSAA will discard all your votes because they feel you were giving positive votes to all your crews. Even with the limited vote there are issues with who can or can't vote for you. Let's say you had Fountain Central last year but they changed head coaches this year. Fountain Central can vote for you even though the current coach has never seen you. And that coach goes to West Lafayette. He has seen you work, but you haven't had West Lafayette in the last 3 years so this coach that knows you can't vote for you. If used the coach vote should probably be Tuesday-Thursday the week of the game.1 point

That’s a great dang vid! 🤩 Field-level action is always the best… especially when playing in the sloppy elements. Totally get what you mean a full-time job… editing is a thankless duty. Well done!1 point

Cathedral wins 34-14. The Irish QB will be a force the next 2 years. Tough contest. Well-played.1 point

He said he turned it on mid 2nd quarter. It would have been 26-7 then. GS won 38-9 from that point forward. Reading is FUNdamental, even if you believe in common core math. 😄1 point

Okay I know they aren't in any championship and the video isn't even for this year's team but I have to show off a video I made a few years back for Snider. I used to love doing this, but it just became a second full time job and I had to quit.1 point

The QB from GS is the real deal. One of the best I have seen over 50 years. Purdue looks like they could be getting the real deal Great game though to watch1 point

Hats off to both teams! Great game! Congrats Titans!1 point

Putting on my Captain Obvious hat, I think this game can go either way and the team that makes the fewest mistakes, likely wins. Both offenses can run & pass well enough to put pts on the board and both D's are strong upfront with a crew of LBs who fly to ball and make plays all over the field. I think Victory will ultimately rest on the Defensive side of the ball. As another poster already pointed out, this game could come down to whichever team can limits the other's passing game. My hope is that MD can find a way to get an extra stop, force a TO, or benefit from a miscue by Andrean and find a way to put 1 more point on the board. It has been a long drought for the Wildcats at LOS but hopefully we can find enough magic to bring it home again. MD 24 - 21. 🦁 Hoping all fans travel safely and we get a well-played and injury free game for all involved. Peace.1 point

I hope having the best coaching staff will trump the best player and they will have an answer that doesn't leave them vulnerable somewhere else. Both teams play similar games. I think it comes down to which team handles the passing game.1 point
