Oh sure, they're busy and I bet this has not helped any athletic department's finances. Just hope it eventually goes through.2 points

I'm all for teams still playing the games if they have enough kids to field a team. Who knows how many games they'll get this year and it could give younger kids some experience. Props to HH for giving it a go, despite knowing that they may suffer another loss. I'm a big "don't-let-Covid-win" guy. Tell City is looking solid but I still think SR beats them handily. It is cool seeing Tell City and Forest Park do well though.2 points

I'm saying I don't see the need to change, just so we're on the same page.. And yes the conference is solid in other sports. Conference is really competitive in basically everything else.1 point

Like I said I totally get it and know that is what you should do and agree. I don't think it would have changed the outcome of the game. Momentum was definitely swinging.1 point

You”re both sort of right. I went to St. Ed’s my 1st 3 yrs. of high school. Then my family moved to Indiana and I finished my senior year at Munster.1 point

How many Timeouts did Brownsburg have? Make Them burn them, even if they go 3 and out and only burn 90 seconds or so, you punt the ball, flip the field and make Brownsburg go longer than 30 some yards.1 point

Could 8-man football be classified as a coed sport to get around that? I notice in the Final Forms classification at the school where my son plays football, the football program is listed as Coed Football whereas soccer is listed as Boys Soccer. Cheer is also listed as coed and wresting is also listed as coed. Baseball is listed as Boys Baseball.1 point

NEVER ... They have redone the bathrooms, concession area, and have stripped and refinished all of the concrete. As well as replacing all of the aluminum bleachers on the home side. Ran into some complications with the condition of the concrete during the process, but it will be ready for football week 4.1 point

Very sloppy. 10 turnovers, 5 for each team. I think VL is good enough to be competitive in the SIAC. Looks like they have a solid defense at least. Reitz is better than what they are showing, as they are going through growing pains with a new system. They will need to speed that process up as the tough part of their schedule is approaching. Jasper and North loom large in the coming weeks.1 point

Pretty proud of the Miners in their OT win over Sullivan Friday night. The defense continued to play well and maybe the QB change gave the offense a little more spark. Kudos to senior QB Goodman for playing well at the wing position after being the starting QB. It was good to see Monrovia get the win over Edgewood after 8 straight lop-sided losses. That should give them a burst of confidence when they visit Linton Friday. Looking at the stats , it appears Monrovia, like Linton, doesn't have a passing game and also, .like Linton, doesn't have a kicker. Should be a good game. I think Linton wins it.1 point

Itching to see what LCC looks like finally this week. Missing two weeks of game play doesn't help and I think seeing Tri-West and Guerin in those first two weeks might have been a nice indicator as to whether LCC would be getting closer to reload or rebuild this season. If I had to pick two games to miss for the season, it wouldn't have been those two ... not that LCC had any choice.1 point

And this is why the conference should stay at 7 members- East can finally beef up its schedule.1 point

In my four-ish decades of watching HS football I cannot recall a tight to the goal line punt occur that wasn't a blatant touchback or not. Many were very, very close, but none that really needed an instant replay. I just saw one this week, stopped on the one foot (inch?) line, with the gunner laying half in the endzone. Huge uproar on the receiving team side of it, naturally, but the crew nailed it. Ball never crossed the plane. Had I not seen this post I would have been on the ignorant side of the rule book. With this information I was able to quell the uprising in my (socially distanced) section of the stands. Thanks, as always, for the great information!1 point

1 middle school, 1 intermediate school, and 5 elementary. Chesterton kids play together in Pop Warner from 5-12 years old then in middle school. They know each other as well as the Pioneer kids know each other. Coaching, execution, desire.......1 point

East will have played a Top 10-15 schedule in the entire state after the 3rd game.. Not going to find many teams that played a tougher 1st 3 games. Having watched East vs Whiteland week 1 I thought for sure we were going to start 0-3... but whatever Gaddis and that team did in practice last week really turned everything around. They looked excellent (minus about 8 minutes of gameplay) against North. Defense laid some HUGE hits on kids, the East O-Line really looked good and super physical.1 point

Why is it when there are local teams playing on TV, we always feel the need to tear them down. Congrats to Brownsburg, way to rep the Hoosier state!1 point

I will help 04 with team write ups this week...... 1. Central - After two weeks, they have the best resumé. No doubt they belong at the top. 2. North - Off to their best start since 2016, the husky dogs are playing good ball. In years past, beating Castle and Memorial back to back is as good of a two game stretch as it gets. It doesn’t carry the same weight this season, but the boys in green are legit SIAC contenders as it is possible for two undefeated to face off in week 9 for the title. 3. Reitz - CJ has them at 3, and Reitz comes in slightly overrated IMO. Under new Coach Brunson, the boys on the hill look to regain an old form as the dominant force in the SIAC. 4. Southridge - Back to back shutouts for the men in black. Good win over traditional 1A/2A power Linton followed with a shutout of Boonvegas and their D1 RB has the Raiders primed for another good year. A lot of new faces this season, but no drop off from the Ridge so far. 5. Vincennes - They are a late game shenanigans TD by Reitz away from a 2-0 start in their new conference. 6. Jasper - topled the champs in week one. Haven’t proved much yet, but the Cats have a long tradition of winning. Expect them to challenge for a top 3 finish in the SIAC. 7. Mount Vernon - A new coach brings a new outlook. The Wildcats have a hunger for winning with Coach Messmer, a former Southridge player and coach. They have aspirations of winning a PAC large school title. 8. Castle - tradition alone says Castle won’t go down without a fight. This season is no different as they lost a close one vs North, and found a way to win a defensive struggle vs MD. 9. Tell City - The Men of Troy are looking like contenders in the PAC small division. Is 8-1 out of the question? Or better yet? 10. Forest Park - The Danger Rangers under coach Fuhs have started 2-0 for the first time since 2011. Big time showdown in week 3 vs TC. These guys are turning a “basketball school” into the Gridiron gang! HM - Memorial, GS and MD1 point

Hmm, I don't recall seeing "Trump 2020" painted on the parking spot. It is your TDS that automatically wants to make the statement "Make America Great Again" a political one. Tell us Dante, what do you do to make America great? Also the student in question is a senior. Mostly likely his parking spot will be painted over by a member of the class of 2022 by this time next year.0 points
