  1. The greatest comeback I have ever seen.. Bishop Gorman is ranked Top 10 in the country, and was up 24-7 with 1:05 left in the game. What occurs next is absolutely crazy. Hamilton kicks a FG to make it 24-10. Ensuing onside kick Hamilton recovers and scores a TD a few plays later.. 24-17. Hamilton again, recovers another perfectly kicked onside kick. A few plays later Hamilton scores on a 22 yard pass play to make it 24-23. Hamilton goes for 2 and is successful completing the comeback and winning the game 25-24. Absolutely stunning, considering with about 5 minutes left in the game Bishop Gorman had almost 375 more yards in the game than Hamilton did.

  2. I will always appreciate a good professional wrestling remark. However, Leo makes it to the northern semi-state game in 4a with out breaking a sweat. It doesn't matter how bad you are as long as your competition is worse.

  3. As I said BEFORE... The FOLDING CHAIR came out, and they will meet again!

  4. Ehh.. call it what you want. I’ll just say there were two halves to that game and the way the 2nd half went I will like our chances in sectionals.

  5. I’m not too concerned about MD yet. There’s a good chance they were just distracted wondering whether or not the Fall Festival would be cancelled this year. This season will hopefully be like a high school romance. The first few weeks with the chick are pretty cool, then you find out they have way too many cats and their family is weird, but then u realize prom is coming up and she’s cool with dates to weinzapfel’s tavern and it would be nice to have a date.

  6. We had a game in 2007, Where a 1-8 Columbia City squad beat a 6-3 East Noble team that was prepped to play Bishop Dwenger the next week, by a 52 yard FG at the final buzzer, in the 1st Round. So I am positive that 48 yards isn't the "record" for post season. You could have heard a in pin drop when it went through the uprights!

  8. I get that and don’t disagree but Chatard had 4 (maybe 5 turnovers) against Brebeuf. I don’t see Roncalli making those mistakes against Brebeuf. To be clear, I don’t want to downplay Brebeuf, they are solid.

  10. Turned out to be a good one. My son hit a PAT and, in the 4th, hit the game-winning field goal.

  11. While there are a number of issues on both sides of the ball, most of our struggles come down to poor execution, IMO. On offense, line blocking has been poor as has WR blocking downfield. Lots of offensive players standing around, watching people get tackled. On D, while our line is stout, we are having issues with our blitz pkg putting pressure on the QB. If we don't stop the run at the LOS, we are having trouble wrapping up & finishing tackles which has resulted in a number of longer runs on plays that could have been stopped for little or no gain. Staring off the season with Central, Castle, Memorial & Jasper - teams that traditionally have more size, talent & athleticism, has not helped but most starters are Sr's and Jr's who played a lot last year so they should know what to expect. The next 4 weeks will be telling. Hopefully MD can turn it around and get some momentum heading into the playoffs.

  12. This may be true but i can tell you that Warren will not give up throughout the game

  13. From now on….if the game winning play is too much to be a Hail Mary….it will now be referred to as a “Pitchy Pitchy Woo Woo” 😂

  15. Roncalli has Trevor Lauck at RT. 6’7” 290 Was at OSU last weekend for the game. Will end up with offers from every big ten and is getting SEC offers. Should be a great individual battle.

  16. Good game, agree give Columbus North credit more than was due, and realizing they have played a murderous schedule (#1 Gibson Southern in 3A, #1 Rocalli in 4A, and now #1 Cathedral in 5A) they obviously played with nothing to lose and everything to gain and good luck to them down the stretch as this will help them more than will hurt them. Watching their band perform at halftime was in itself worth the trip down from Indy. I can't believe we had two dropped punt returns by our returners that resulted in fumbles which North recovered. Top teams in the state DO NOT DO THAT. One was even called a fair catch and he still dropped it, which is very troubling as we are mid-season making mistakes that we should not be making.

  17. Just watched the ending of this game and when Gorman was on their last play and the announcer said they were gonna need a little "Pitchy Pitchy Woo Woo" I lost it and started laughing so hard.

  18. Unfortunately….not that big of a rivalry historically. Roncalli’s historic rivalries have been with Cathedral (up until about 10 yrs ago when the series was discontinued) and Chatard.

  20. After years of obscurity, this team is now averaging 34.2 points per game. They’ve only played one “bad” game this year and it was to a much larger school. As a look at the upcoming schedule, I see a winning record as a distinct possibility. I’m not sure who’s in SN’s schedule, but they need to take things one game at a time. Congratulations Coach Bevis and the boys, you deserve it.

  22. A questionable two point conversion failed after their second TD to go up 13-7…ended up losing by ONE. (Though they did get a safety on an intentional grounding call later in the game.) A decision late in the 3rd/early in the 4th quarter (113 points scored so it’s escaping me) to go for it on 4th and 8 from your own side of the 50 yard line. They were stopped and Warren gained momentum and never looked back. They were up 3 scores at the time I believe. Constant letting down their guard in the back four as they seemed to let Warren skill guys run past their DB’s and safeties the entire night, particularly in the 2nd half when Warren was in obvious passing situations. 43-21 lead with 3 minutes to go in the third quarter. Hindsight is 20/20 but BD drew Warren offside with 2 minutes to go when lining up for a FG which would have put them up 53-43. They were awarded a first down and then scored with 1:51 left and then missed the extra point to go up 56-43. Could have taken three knees (I’ll be honest in saying I do not know how many timeouts Warren had at the time.) Not sure it would have mattered. Disappointed we will likely not see a rematch in the tournament as used to be customary as CG will be heavily favored the week prior should they meet Warren.

  25. How’s that? They’ve been in the semi state the past two years and just lost to one of the best teams in the state.

  26. At what point do we come out and say Simmons is in over his head? I’ve reluctantly given him the benefit of the doubt the last few years, but there seems to be no progress being made over on the West Side. Pretty inexcusable to lose that game in that fashion.

  27. I could not be more thrilled for my friend Mike Kirschner. His kids took advantage of every Ben Davis mistake and never quit. This one will be a tough one to swallow for Ben Davis. I'm very gutted for the Giants, but, if it had to be a loss like this, I'm glad it was to Mike. He is a great man, and his team believes in him clearly. Congratulations to all the Warriors fans too. That one's going to be talked about for decades. BD and Warren combined for 113 points tonight. The BD/Warren basketball regional in 2018 ended up as a 48-46 win for Warren in OT. Chew on that one.

  30. Being a state line guy, I'll take Indiana's all in over Ohio's system every day. There are bottom feeders in the MAC that never make the playoffs that are better than teams that advance deep in the tournament. Last year Parkway won a playoff game with the all in format They were really bad, but better than one opponent. Ohio gets it right by seeding it. Heck Ohio is getting closer to an all in with 16 teams making it in all regions. At this point just create an 8th division and go all in.

  34. His comment of crappy grass field is the laughable thing. Not every team is capable of affording and playing on the luxurious turf fields of today. Not every grass field is crappy either. As far as a game of this magnitude, whats to say either team has anyone important even playing in this game. Bragging rights? I dont think CG even cares. If all play, this will be the closest game they will have played, but with the grind that CG will have gone through, they might just sit players to have 2 weeks of rest before the season that actually counts in Indiana starts. Cathedral might do the same with sitting players. Who knows. But to complain about ACTUALLY having to play on a Grass field. Get over yourself.

  38. Probably true, but... If your mental barometer doesn't tell you this kind of behavior is a bad idea, even as teenager, your life will be a never ending series of bad decisions with predictable outcomes. If this is a wake up call, will anyone answer?
