  1. We tested them, but decided against it because the crew couldn't carry all 4 of them at once.

  2. This was in the best interest of the young man. Dad made poor "white collar" choices and will be going away for awhile. The parents have since separated and I believe the mother now lives in the Indian Creek school district, which is why Indian Creek was the school of choice. Kudos to Coach Moore and the CG Athletic Department for signing off on this for this young man and not making his life any more difficult than his father has already made it for him. I believe he's already had 2 ACL tears and has rehabbed twice to come back. Kid deserves to play based on that alone in my book. Best of luck to this young man!

  4. I was fortunate enough to play on some of Benton Centrals best teams from ‘00-‘04. I know I’m not alone when I say the memories I made with my teammates will stick with me for the rest of my life. We all get caught up in the “my team is better” hoopla, but we are all here for ONE reason... The love of this game! May the best teams win come Thanksgiving weekend, and this years players make the memories that we all have.

  15. As a graduate of Yorktown, you can never sleep on them in the sectional. A NORMALLY tough conference schedule helps prepare the Tigers. Coach Wilhelm is pretty good at getting them Playoff ready. They also have an extremely talented group of skilled players this year. No doubt this is likely the toughest sectional in the state top to bottom.

  16. That draw in 28 will be very anticipated Yorktown has a valid 3a team, but also get overlooked with how loaded that sectional is. In a perfect world you could see WL vs Crawfordsville Guerin vs North Mont Brebeuf vs Yorktown Chatard vs Heights You could also see Chatard vs WL Brebeuf vs Guerin Yorktown vs Heights Crawfordsville vs North Mont

  18. We had a bball player transfer mid season last year on a Monday and was signed off on. He practiced Tuesday and could have played against us that friday but didn't. That's the first id ever heard but I think sometimes its allowed if both schools sign off and the transfer is what's best for the kid (living situation, moving in with other parent etc)

  21. Let me get this logic straight. Fact 1: 10 high school playing schools out of roughly 320 in Indiana have organized themselves in such a fashion that they ONLY play each other for the first 8 weeks of the season. They do not play any other teams in the State of Indiana......PERIOD. In other words, for the first 8 weeks of the football season these schools might as well be playing all of their games in Zimbabwe. Fact 2: A computer program is developed to compare and contrast teams in a given geographic area and predict just where those teams stand in relation with one another. Said program or some form of it is used throughout the country as a means to rank teams in multiple sports nationally at every level of play. The basis of the program is making connections between teams as they play one another and extending those connections throughout all the various hundreds of teams throughout the State. Fact 3: Certain persons from said teams think the rating system is “dumb”, “stooopid” or something along those lines because it cannot properly rank their relative standing among the other 310 teams in the State because they refuse to play ANY OF THE OTHER 320 teams.

  22. It is high level of coaching and players and systems each and every week it seems. Watching LCC this weekend and today. They are the best 2-3 team in small class football in my opinion. They gave Guerin all they wanted most of the 1st half until some things went south late 2nd quarter for them. Same Guerin team that just beat 6a Columbus North. Beat Tipton, who is valid 2a team. Took their WL medicine already and played very competitive week 1 game vs Tri West. They are the hands down favorite to win sectional 42 in my humbled opinion and they may go into the tournament with a sub 500 record and being playing in Semi State SECTIONAL 41 SECT. 23. We've seen several of them, I couldn't tell you who has them and who doesn't. BSN has them listed from 1099-1599, my guess is they actually cost in the 600ish range. They are easy to see and find, I'm all in.

  24. I've been told that the LED display of a digital down marker makes it possible for people who are color blind to be able to see it. Do you have something against people with disabilities? Also don't be ridiculous. Robots have no place at a high school football game. They could go rogue and destroy everyone in attendance. You know that's how the human race will end, right? Death by robot revolution.

  29. Watched another couple of clips of this play, from different angles than were on the Indy Star highlights. Absolutely no question in my mind that this was the right call, and handled 100% correctly by the crew. The mob coming on the field was within a few yards of the loose ball. Has to be illegal participation under those circumstances. Great job by the crew in a difficult situation.

That's the first id ever heard but I think sometimes its allowed if both schools sign off and the transfer is what's best for the kid (living situation, moving in with other parent etc) A fine line there no doubt and if it’s postseason I’m sure it would not be allowed but in high school sports it should always be about what’s best for the kid.

  31. Fort Wayne, Bishop Dwenger does. In fact, they have two of these lighted digital line of scrimmage down markers; I.E., the one that's official on the side of the field opposite the press box, and also another on the home side of the field; like many of the colleges, and all of the pro games use.

  40. I had the same thought about Kelly. Sometimes a guy can get you so far, but you need another guy to take you to the next level. See, Doug Collins coaching the Bulls with Jordan. But, I’m not sure at all that he’s the limiting factor. It may be time to accept that the Irish will never be in a position to compete year in and year out with the Clemsons, Alabamas, or Georgias of football. The reason: they simply can’t get enough of the difference-making athletes. I hate making excuses, and that’s not what this is. It’s more of an explanation, because this limitation is self-inflicted. The University has made a choice. Notre Dame is one of the hardest schools in the country to get into, rejecting more than 80% of the applications. They have decided that they’ll only go so far in relaxing admission standards, and no further. And that handicap simply cannot be overcome, except by catching lightning in a bottle once in a great while. Hope is not a plan. But they are also handicapped in a different way. Without a conference affiliation - and the conference championship game that comes with it - they have to run the table to have a chance. Under present circumstances, a 1 loss Irish team will never get a chance to play for the big prize. The combination of playing a pretty difficult schedule and having no margin for error is a killer. For these reasons, I doubt I’ll see another Irish National Championship in my lifetime, unless something changes. The only issue I have with that is that I believe the Athletic Dept., and the University governance as well, is not committed to competing at the highest level. Instead, they are into maximizing all possible revenue streams. Again, this is a self-inflicted wound. The $$ the football program brings in ($72 million in profit annually) does so much good for the rest of the University, that it’s hard to criticize that ... unless you are of the opinion that competing at the next level will necessarily generate even more revenue. Bottom line: Until the Irish remove these built-in barriers, i don’t expect to see them climb the mountain and get to the top again. If their decision is that they will not compromise the University’s admission standards to win, I’m fine with that. Believe it or not, Our Lady’s University is about lots more than football.

  41. I would argue it would be controversial regardless of what they called. They call nothing or go with unsportsmanlike conduct and declare the game over others would say they can't believe they let them get away with it. Officials don't care about the controversy side. They go with the information they have at the time and enforce accordingly. They obviously felt these players had an influence on the play. I know this crew well and trust their judgement.
