  1. I don't have a pony in this show but from reading these post the last couple days, definitely rooting for HH. Hoping #15 has a career game. I keep reading about the Danville victories over Chatard in 2016 & 2017, so what! You lost the following games and Chatard owns you historically regardless of who the coaches are. Be thankful for the realignment which allowed you to play this long. And about Gibson Southern not advancing to Regionals/ Semistate. You do know GS lost in very competitive games to either the state champs or the runner up in 2016 & 2017 and it looks like this will be the third year in a row that they lost to team that will be playing in LOS. Matter of fact, in 2017, their game with Memorial was more competitive than the Danville game. I will leave you with this highlight from 2017 since you are so found of that year! FTF Or how about this one. "What a block by Ervin!" Good luck Heritage Hills. Hopefully both our teams take of business tonight and we see you next week at LOS.

  2. At least second comment from you about not playing a P/P school. Not sure of your point other than to somehow try to diminish the run HH is on this postseason. Oh wait, weren’t you also the one whining about having to play in the mud and not on the pretty, clean turf? Never mind. Enjoy the game tonight!

  4. What do Merrillville and Morton have in common with EN? All of them are spread teams that can throw the ball. Also, Merrillville and Morton both scored 21 points. EN is definitely better than Morton, and I don't know about Merrillville. And to Hobart's credit, the Merrillville game might have a different outcome now because that was week 2 which was 3 months ago. To answer your question, I think EN hits some quick passes and Parker will scramble and hit an open guy if he is pressured. Hobart will have to be selective when they bring pressures because EN can and will hurt them. Hobart's coaching staff is great, so I'm sure they will have a plan. I just like the matchup vs the secondary because of the WRs and QB at EN.

  5. Potentially some equals, but certainly no better man has ever graced the sidelines of football fields. Coach has never met a stranger, and everyone who has met him is better of because of it.

  6. A lot of idiocy in this thread, but here a few facts to actually ponder as we have reached semi-state Friday across the state: 1. There are 16 teams left in the state of Indiana in 3A-6A. Of those 16, only 1 did not have to beat a single team during their playoff run with a Sagarin rating better then 100. That one team is Danville. Doesn't mean they cannot and/or could not have done so and doesn't mean much once the game kicks off tonight. But the simple reality is they won a sectional with a few average (at best) teams and beat arguably the worst 3A sectional winner in the past 20 years (if you go off the Sagarin ratings) in the regional last week against Vincennes. 2. Have seen the usual and tiring jabs at certain P/P schools (in this case Chatard was brought up) about being "dirty" and certain assertions about undue influence. For fun, why not go back in the last 4 years and look at every starter who has played at Danville and check where they attended middle school and then compare that with Chatard and their feeder perishes. Might be very enlightening. Of the last 4 Danville QB's, only 1 played middle school football at Danville. Their QB this year miraculously showed up this summer as a sophomore from Avon, where a returning JR starter at QB was ahead of him on the depth chart. If that would have happened at a Chatard or Mishawaka Marian (just using them as they are 2 teams still playing), we know what the calls from many on this board would be. 3. Heritage Hills has already beaten 3 teams during their playoff run better (according to the Sagarins) then Danville. Again does not mean anything as tonight's outcome, but HH has seen better outfits then what Danville brings to the table. Danville's best win on the year was at Tri-West in the sectional (after losing to them in the regular season). HH has 5 or 6 wins this year better then anything Danville has done. Hence why many who think this game, at least on paper, will not be all that competitive if both teams play at similar levels as we've seen throughout the season. Hopefully we some great games across the state tonight. Something we've haven't seen a ton of at the sectional and regional final levels to this point. Too many bad matchups and bad games in the 6 classes.

  8. Well on a positive note, after HH gets done with Danville tonight, I doubt that we will ever here from ole Jimmy Boy again.

  12. Chatard is a whole different type of program than many up north. They remind of Hobart and the Howell days. The have a tradition rich program and it just continues. SJ has played them 4 times I believe. The 2 games in the state finals were good games but the one game the fumble was the killer and the other Taylor got hurt in the semi state and tried to play but was no where near the player he was. I m anxious to see Chatard now after watching them against Northwood. You want to prepare for the tournament. You may want to schedule them.

  13. Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2.3. If not for the "success factor" and some "crazy realigning" neither of these teams would be playing this week! Thanks IHSAA & Blue Tigers! These two squads owe you a Tiger BL!

  14. Considering he lives in Mooresville and is retired, I don't think he's going anywhere until he decides to hang it up for good. Plus, Noblesville is going to have a really hard time competing against Avon and Brownsburg's athletes, let alone Zionsville, Fishers, HSE and Westfield. All of of whom have better football traditions and cultures then Noblesville. In other words, this is a really, really tough job and going to be hard for anyone to get it to midpack in the HCC, let alone the top. Roden had the right idea of putting a hard-nosed offense and defensive philosophy in place. In a conference full of spread teams, that should be the niche they go with to try to compete. But now, they'll probably wander back into the shotgun/spread world again to look like everyone else and others will play that game better with better athletes then they do. Year in and year out.

  15. More times than not, it was the illegal holding that allowed the RB to get to the endzone in the first place. Congrats to Valpo, they put more points on the board. But Dwenger may have showed tonight that they may have the best D in the state. Before tonight, Valpo's lowest scoring output was 29.

  16. Nice game, Dwenger. Half their enrollment and punched up a class, you smothered and gut checked Valpo on their own field. They had no answers for you after the 1st quarter.

  19. Most people follow a team. High school isn't NFL. Even on boards everything slows down closer it gets to finals because when your team is out you move to basketball. Broadcast that 6A semi state game. I'm not gonna watch regardless is my team is in or out. Sure I may watch more of a local team but 2 teams up north who I know 0 about outside this board...pass. but that's just me

  20. 100% agree. Danville would have been the 5th best team in sectional 32

  22. With exception to the leo sectional game, you have to score and score fast against east Noble or they will open it up. If Hobart offense can't do that I don't see them winning on a purely defensive battle. Could be completely wrong on that but that's why the game is played. Either way looking forward to this one should be a great atmosphere up in Kendallville tonight!

  23. If we had review capabilities last year, the 2A state finals game may have had a different outcome. It is what it is. If you can review and get it right, why not do it??

  24. Why play the state finals under different rules than everything else? Do we not care about the teams that suffer from bad/missed calls in a regional or semistate loss?

  25. Im expecting a comfortable HH win. The Sag wasn't great this year outside of Webo and Danville has had maybe the easiest trip to semi state I've ever seen. They aren't nearly as good as they were the last couple of years.

  34. The 43 turnovers forced by the Hobart defense is impressive, and their offense is average. I do not think they have see a player more athletic than Parker. There is a reason nobody has been able to stop him this year, he has a running back that has rushed for over 1000 yards on top of the 4000 total yards Parker has put up this season. Hobart thrives on big plays and EN does not give up big plays. I still do not think this game will be a blowout for either team and will stick with EN 35-28. I believe there were over 300 tickets donated for the students from various business around the area. East Noble's community does an outstanding job supporting them not only during the season, but in the off-season as well. The tickets are only for students, $10.00 for a ticket may not seem like a lot, but for some of these kids it could have been the difference of going to the game or not.

  35. The only reason you are playing in a semi state football game is because your sectional was the 2nd weakest in the south and you played the winner of the weakest sectional in the regional. I really hope you enjoy your butt whooping tomorrow night. It is going to be brutal.

  39. Easy their my region friend, get some Pierogis and chill pal I know you are new around here, however, Mr. Temptation is simply asking if anyone wants to bet booster status, not hard cash. You see this website is funded by our great members, completely free, each year we ask our amazing community to chip in. Over the years, a way to have HARMLESS discussion among our rabid fans is some folks will bet booster status, ($25) in behalf of GID. Its all blubber, some folks have fun with and honor said "bet" and send money to fund our website, others do not. To my knowledge, there has not been a "bet" taken with real money exchanged among members. We are talking Free Will donations here, as seen here: https://gridirondigest.net/clients/donations/1-2019-20-budget/ Take a deep breathe and Go Brickies!!! (I don't want to lose my region card) Love the passion: Fired up for Da Region RSN would be proud of you.

  42. Chatard had beaten Danville 13 times in a row in the post-season (or something like that), so, I think we can all empathize with even the most exuberant celebration in that situation. Danville won those two games fair and square, they should be proud of that accomplishment. If Chatard gets lucky and the football gods smile on us against Marian, I hope Danville wins this weekend, so, we can continue this great local rivalry. Of course, I also hope HH wins, so, we can continue that great inter-regional (?) rivalry. Either way a Chatard win over Marian, if we are so fortunate for that to occur, should produce an exciting state championship game.

  43. Go back and look at the thread and tell me where I made any excuse? Also, I provide no credit, but that is not due to any conscious decision, rather I have nothing to say on the matter the Danville wins. Your comment on "typical private school fan" and "down recruiting years" reveals your bias and unsubstantiated commentary/opinions. No excuses, no reasons...you lose, you lose....you win, you win. Now, how you act during the wins and losses might be another topic, but the fact remains that Danville won, Chatard lost. Lots of opinions, but not relevant to this weekend which I stand by my prediction 42-14 HH over Danville.

  44. Whew - so glad someone articulated that fear and our prayers. Seriously? Danville is not winning Friday IMO and IF they do, then Chatard will be more than happy to end the "losing streak" at LOS and run at least 6 swinging gate plays after we are up 35...should we get there. I would think Mishawaka and HH are great teams who could win and go to LOS - - - Danville....is not. stupid
