Now it makes sense to bring that up 🙂 Danville looked so much bigger. Dutra is an absolute beast. I'm pretty sure I seen him take one of the Southridge cheerleaders for a ride on his Harley after the game.3 points

***Note...ND fan here, but want to see ALL Indiana football teams (especially the state talent) do well*** I was officiating Pop Warner this am and the PA was giving updates. Last I heard was when OSU was "pulling away", maybe 28-7? I came home and saw the re-cap and saw that IU only lost by a TD, 42-35. WOW. Way to keep fighting, believing and not giving up. Keep it up IU.2 points

Scifres has only been gone 4 years (including this year) out of those last 15 years Grandpa B referenced. They actually have had excellent teams 2 of those 4 years he’s been gone. Your point doesn’t follow....but then, when does it ever?2 points

2 nights this week I record a game and stay up late just to go to bed angry. What a freaking crap show. 4 initial grievances: 1. worst offensive PI I’ve ever seen 2. Purdue DBs were basically giving up Hail Mary receptions on key 3rd downs all game. Do they know they’re allowed to turn around and play the ball? 3. 2 missed FG’s, one of which right after a Moore TD catch was reversed. Though that appeared to be a legit call. Speaking of Moore, wow, is he good. Too bad the defense ruined a great offensive performance. 4. I can’t stand Fleck and his Row The Boat crap. I don’t enjoy losing to that Terd. That was the epitome of a Purdue loss.2 points

Outstanding effort from the Hoosiers today! Down 35-7 early in the 3rd quarter, they came back and had a chance to tie it late. Tom Allen has instilled a new attitude down in Bloomington and it should be fun to watch it grow down the road!1 point

From what I'm seeing from info released from a team that is playing the in 9ne of the title games. Seats will be assigned seating, each ticket is 15 bucks, after each game they will clear the stadium to clean and sanitize the stand and tickets will be sold at the schools of the 12 teams playing then all other tickets will be sold day of at the LOS box office. So to me that means you have to buy a ticket for every game individually and that adds up to 90 bucks all together.1 point

I would’ve tossed it too. Very tough, split second call. White hat and LJ did an excellent job. As I am sure the BJ was on the hop there too. GREAT crew officiated a great game w 2 great teams. No. 😂1 point

Roncalli’s successful years and down years are ALWAYS determined by one, simple indicator... are they able to keep all (or at least a majority) of the talent in their feeder schools (south deanery grade schools) at Roncalli. In 2016 and 2017, in which RHS won a state championship and was ranked #1 in 5A, they were fueled by classes in which all of the south deanery talent attended Roncalli. However, anyone within the program at time would have told you tough years were coming. During the following years, Roncalli missed out on the following players that attended their feeder grade schools... QB Eddie Schott (St Jude) - Southport - Ball State ATH Haven Montefalco (St Jude) - Cathedral - Harvard OL Josh Fryar (St. Mark) - Beech Grove - Ohio State ATH Ryan Lezon (St. Barnabas) - Southport - Ball State QB Kody Sparks (St. Barnabas) - HSE - Bowling Green QB Nate McCahill (St. Roch) - Cathedral - Current candidate for Mr. Football These are just a few examples. These are also elite high school football players that attended Roncalli’s grade schools but did not attend Roncalli, all for a variety of reasons. Believe it or not, Roncalli’s success has nothing to do with recruiting (that claim has always been ridiculous). This year’s Roncalli team is loaded with home grown talent that (outside of McCahill) all chose to stay in the south deanery and attend Roncalli. Thus, the success.1 point

Chuck Freeby is a GREAT man. Sorry. I do not know who his partner in the booth is. Thank you Bob. I couldn't think of Bob's name. They do such a great job. Chuck told me, he got you a seeing eye dog. I jest. I jest.1 point

Got to know Bob Nagle and Chuck Freeby a little bit, having done so many games in the South Bend area over the years. They had the final game of my career, and afterward I got a nice note from them and a DVD of the game. Great people.1 point

CC and Heritage aren’t in the conference for football, but are for most other sports. No immediate plans for CC to join, as far as I know (football program is only 5 years old). Not quite ready to play Roncalli and Chatard on a yearly basis, in my opinion.1 point

Both CC and Heritage Christian are members of the Circle City Conference and actively compete in every conference sport excepting football.1 point

Never give up! Never give in! (I think I stole that from a movie) Offensive line - stones Defense - stones Receivers - stones Penix jr - Heisman candidate next year You can’t help but love this team!1 point

5 min. left IU @ Ohio State, and the TV announcers are talking about how many timeouts IU has left! When in history has THAT ever happened? And @Coach Nowlinhas got to be dying after the long TD pass with the no-call on OPI.1 point

It'd go to 100% if Guerin or Brebeuf or honorary PP, West Lafayette, moved up with Chatard. 😀1 point

You know so LITTLE about Roncalli it is actually laughable. Scrifres leaving had nothing to do with their lack of success. Nothing. Those of us close to the program know this. The year (2017) Scrifes left, Scott Marsh was 8-2 and lost to Cathedral 28-23 in the playoffs. 2018 was a very down year for talent and Scrifes would have also had a losing season as he did in previous years if he was the head coach. 2019 they won the sectional and barely lost to Mount Vernon in the Regional. The "wheels came off" one year. 2018. Just as they came off for Scrifes in many of the years from 2006 onward that they won only the one state championship. If you want to send me a direct message before you make further uninformed comments about Roncalli, I would certainly be willing to review your comments before you post something that is just wrong. Rebel Dad would have used a different word than "wrong" but Grandpa B is a kinder more gentle poster.1 point

I mentioned this elsewhere but will repeat it. The WHME-46 team that did the game last night are THE BEST. I’ve watched a lot of HS football over the years from all over the state but, outside of the State Championship productions, no one does nearly as great a job broadcasting HS football as the WHME-46 team. A really professional broadcast.1 point

Danville doesn’t care about your tradition, history, and culture. Everyone should probably just bow down to Luers, Chatard, Roncalli, and Cathedral because of tradition, history, and culture.1 point

Yep! No use running it up. Save the troops to play another day. New Pal had a different mindset in past years, as have other teams. Lots of players got to play in a semi-state and that's always good.1 point

You could measure the shift of Roncalli fortunes by simply watching the annual CYO results (with the exception of the 2 years prior to this year). The Archdiocese school’s outcomes are almost always directly tied to historic CYO outcomes.1 point

In the words of Dennis Green ‘They are who we thought they were.’ I was pulling for both SIAC schools but not completely surprised with the outcomes.1 point

A common sense Post. Thank you @TheStatGuy You are an ADULT now, think about what you are threatening to do. That is incredibly comical but that is your playbook, just like you sent me a threatening email years ago about going to my superintendent over your warped silliness around here, again this was years ago and I have continued to give you your playground in here to reside, your threats are pointless and hold zero merit. The fact that you actually have saved screenshots from social media and this message board to use as some sort of, haha I got you now because you do not "like" someone and disagree with their politics. Come on man, be better than that. My goodness. You all can have your little back and forth whizzing match, all day long, this section should NOT be taken seriously at all. Hence why DK shut down the 1st one. Too many folks taking themselves FAR TOO SERIOUS, to the point now were have someone claiming they are going to attempt to blackball someone for future employment opportunities ( what does Lake Central even have to do with anything). Keep that sort of Rhetoric up @TheStatGuy and your time here will be fanished ..... again. That goes for anyone who wants to go down that rabbit hole, though I would suspect, 99.5% of our community would not even have that cross their mind, let along, keep screenshots of social media and other message boards for their collection on their phone. That is just really odd behavior from an adult.1 point

No need to go that route. Unfortunately, Birch Bayh is dead. But, maybe there is hope one day.1 point

This kind of analysis always makes me chuckle. The current Chatard seniors were in 8th grade/freshmen the last two times they were knocked out by Danville, basically meaning not one player from either team played a meaningful snap the last two times they were on opposing sidelines. Makes for a cool storyline building up to the game for folks to talk about but means nothing of substance when predicting how the game is going to actually play out. The coaching staff can circle whatever they want, but they aren’t suiting up.1 point

About as silly as him saying California and New York were going to Trump. I feel bad. Their cult leader lost. In 60 days he'll no longer be President. They can't get over that fact because they were led to believe that "god" sent him for them and god is never wrong in their eyes. God didn't send Trump for them or us. An out of date election tool made him President. Edward Norton had a great point on Twitter. I agree with him. Trump isn't doing this for his base, hes not doing this to land his own network.. Or the fact he loves chaos. Trump is doing this because hes in serious, serious legal jeopardy. This is a tactical delay of the transition to buy time for coverup & evidence suppression. He wants to create enough chaos and anxiety about peaceful transfer of power and fear of damage to the system that can't be repaired.. He'll then try to cut a deal in exchange for finally conceding. He doesn't have any cards and he knows it. Hes been shutdown repeatedly in courts. Trump's assault on our country isn't about 2024 or trying to increase his wealth (cause hes broke). He simply knows hes on borrowed time.1 point

Gets what again? Chatard has beaten Danville 18 out of the last 20 meetings.1 point
-
They beat the hell out of teams in the state championship game. And play as hard as any team does in the state. Ask Roncalli (who just embarrassed 2 top 5 4A teams the past 2 weeks) what a motivated Chatard team is like to play against. I'm not saying that Chatard wins or loses this game. But we have decades of proof to go on, with numerous other opponents who some thought were all set to "get after" Chatard with a state championship on the line. Here are the last 10 state championship games BC has played in: 2019- Win over Heritage Hills 34-3 2015- Win over West Lafayette 31-7 2012- Win over Hamilton Heights 30-13 2011- Win over SB St Joe 21-7 2010- Win over SB St Joe 28-14 2007- Win over SB St Joe 31-7 2006- Win over Norwell 7-0 2005- Loss to Northwood 7-0 2003- Win over Northwood 49-0 2002- Win over Andrean 31-12 I'd say 9-1, while allowing an average of under 10 points a game is pretty stout. That's the history of this program in this game. Doesn't mean 2020 plays out the same way but there's a long track record that says it may.1 point

Well had to eat some crow here. The speed that CC put on the field was unreal. Really unreal. It wasnt just straight line speed and it wasnt just one player. That speed literally nullified WW strength in the trenches. CC was fun to watch. Loved seeing the kids enthusiasm and excitement.1 point

Okay I know there is no such thing as stupid questions just stupid people...so let me be stupid for a moment. Do the live streams also have audio? I am worried if no audio and I tune into the Fox Sports / Cathedral radio network the audio over radio will be about 3 seconds ahead of stream. Maybe I need to shut up and drink more beer and just relax.1 point

Much like the Democrat side of the uni-party thought Ms. Clinton was gonna win in 2016. The whining about that loss went on for at least a year, just like this loss of Mr. Trump's will. Again, uni-party.1 point

All true. But make no mistake, Chatard will bring it, travel notwithstanding. They always do. One of a handful of programs I can say with 100% certainty will show up under any circumstances and give an amazing effort. In case you can't tell, I'm a big admirer of their program. Reminds me a great deal of my old days at St. Ed's.1 point
