Yeah I don't buy into the demoralizing. Coach Moore is a fantastic coach. I personally feel this is a great tool for Coach Moore. The players feel the sting and he will have them pumped and ready to go. It wasn't a loss to a lesser team. It was a loss to a good team and Coach Moore will use it as motivation to get better in every aspect,2 points

Believe I helped organize one in the past and I’m willing to do it again if there would be enough interest prior to this Friday’s games. Anyone tech savvy enough to throw it together in a digital format so we don’t have to do it the old school March madness way?1 point

Good for him....what a job on and off the field. This young man is impressive. Will never forget the job he did leading IU into Madison a couple of years ago and got the W over the Badgers. Hope he lands somewhere where he gets the shot to play. He deserves it!!1 point

Looks like Valpo and Hanover...that is what 247 listed. How does a 3 star not get more offers?? With an offer from Navy, the young man had to be pretty darn good in the classroom. https://247sports.com/player/devin-mockobee-46102150/ Looks like a Purdue walk-on. What a grab for the Boilers! https://www.si.com/college/purdue/football/purdue-walk-on-devin-mockobee-taking-advantage-of-increasing-opportunity1 point

Let me clarify. The situation you initially reported did not have the phrase “on his own,” or “intentionally,” as is used in the case book. The complete play and ruling in the case book is as follows: “9.6.2 SITUATION C K1 free-kicks the ball toward the sideline. R1 runs to a sideline and intentionally steps out of bounds. While R1 is still out of bounds, he intentionally touches the ball as it nears the sideline. The ball is declared dead by the covering official. RULING: Illegal participation by R1. (4-3-1, 6-1-9)” If that accurately describes the play in question, then the correct ruling is illegal participation on R.1 point

Finally, if you're going to fake an account, maybe talk about the team you purportedly support other than when, you know, they play Merrillville. Or when you're conveniently at a Merrillville game IN Chesterton when your team "4 life" was playing at home 30 min down the road. You'd make a crappy double agent.1 point

I'd be down for this and could help grade as well. Unfortunately I can't help with any sort of digitization of the picks.1 point

Getting an MBA from IU is a big deal, especially in the time he had to do it. Best of luck Jack.1 point

The 812FB Top 20 rankings is my opinion and based off not only the eye test but the averages of Sagarin, Calpreps and Massey ranking systems. Still think OSU is going to have the best player on the field by a wide margin and that will account for something. Not as confident as I was 3 months ago as UM is running the ball well, but UM is going to have to put up points in a hurry to keep up the pace with the Buckeyes. Much like 6A has been this year, I do think there are 5-6 teams who could ultimately win it all. Unfortunately only 4 teams will make it. SEC and B10 winner are locks in my opinion and I don't see Clemson losing a game either. USC losing Saturday opens the door for some one loss teams. I think a 1 loss UM team belongs in the conversation with a 1 loss UGA or Tennessee team. Season is now just getting started, a lot of football left.1 point

Thank you both! @Southside @BTF - I knew it was that way for the 8 team sectionals, but wasn't sure how the 4 team sectionals worked1 point

Mishawaka would be home for Regionals against Snider or BD as they would be at Concord for Sectional Final. if Snider or BD come out they most likely would be away for Regionals while North Side would be home for Regionals. Snider and BD have good path for home Semi-State if they were to make it.1 point

I’m just saying….it’s so bad with the packers this year that all of my coworkers are showing up on time on mondays. every year we have what is called “Packer flu” where guys call in or are late on mondays because they were at the bars watching the packer game….nope not this year lol they are on time and not calling in. Nothing to drink to except misery1 point

I’m not too full of pride to admit when I’m wrong. Michigan is definitely a top 5 team in the country after the beatdown they gave Penn State can’t recall who the debate was with….but you were right 😂1 point

Nobody actually uses Harrell's lines do they....I'll wait for Chris J.'s lines.....he has hit some of ours spot on.1 point

I'm not one for beating a conversation for the 100th time like some are with qualifiers and such. Just let the kids celebrate accomplishments. They can only do what rules say for them to do1 point

They get two attempts the same way Merrillville had six turnovers Friday when they literally had one lost fumble and one INT according to Merrillville's own reported stats.1 point

Snider opened up a 20-6 lead. Both teams missed an extra point up until that point. North Side scored two more touchdowns after that and missed on both conversions. Final score 20-18. Could have beaten Snider? Sure. Should have beaten Snider? No. You could say the game was pretty even and came down to extra points. We'll find out who the real winner is if Snider can get by Dwenger. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Dwenger has good coaching capable of making the adjustments they need to close the 28-0 gap. And not many have more heart than a Catholic kid playing football. This sectional is a crapshoot.1 point

Probably not. The game against Mooresville looks like a fun matchup on paper. I’m interested in seeing how the braves match up in a 4a sectional for the first time. Roncalli showed during the regular season that they can simply run their game plan and grind down Brebeuf in the second half. Brebeuf is a couple horses short of having the depth to compete in the trenches with the top teams in the state. Plus, there’s no guarantee that matchup happens. I don’t know much about northview, but mooresville is more than capable of advancing to the finals from the top side of the bracket.1 point

Fun Game last night, glad to been able to take it in. Felt like should of been 2-3 td win, but gave up chunk plays too often unfortunately. Double time of possession, double 1st downs, over 600 yards of offense, got to get some more distance then what they did. Onto Wisconsin1 point

This is interesting, never gave it a thought, but it makes perfect sense. Lithium batteries and saltwater don’t mix well. I’m sure it’ll be fine in freshwater for all the idiots around here that drive thru floodwaters and have to be rescued. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/transport/tesla-fires-after-hurricane-raises-alarm-for-florida-officials1 point

Lots of injuries and a tough schedule. The HHC has some pretty good teams and coaches. New Pal, Mt. Vernon and Greenfield-Central have all been ranked this year. I believe Yorktown has, too. Delta is also still really young.1 point

beating my head against the wall now....sigh..... Mark Haste was NOT from a private school. He built a highly successful state championship program at Tri-West. He then went to NC and experienced similar results as Streiff and O'Shea. It is NOT just a private school thing with NC....it has to be deeper with football. Feeder systems, football culture, transfers out, etc. This is a case with highly successful high school coaches going to NC and not having the same type of results as their previous school. (in terms of wins/losses and playoff success) I know we all like simple, but this case is not as simple to single out private school coaches.1 point
