  1. Seriously? YOU suggested all young men playing 6A ball North of 24 should accept the fact they’re playing for participation trophy’s, doubled down on the take, and then made a victory lap post after Crown Point lost. Glass houses.

  2. It really is comical. The good news is you’ll get to hear it all over again next year when you play Cathedral in the playoffs (already looking forward to this and will be a New Pal fan that night). Congrats again on a perfect season and a perfect, state championship-caliber schedule!

  3. Nah, it’s all good fun. Can we just agree going forward that if an Indy or donut county school is playing in the state finals, we should just go ahead and pick them to avoid looking foolish? Your boys from Snider seem to be the only exception. New Pal/Chatard WAS the state title game in 4A.

  4. One of the best parts of this board is drinking the tears of delusional Fort Wayne man children. Congrats to HH. Took Luers to the woodshed.

  5. Coaching inexperience or pride can both be killers at the 1a level when it comes to pulling starters with a big lead. Shutouts and stats are great but a healthy team is more important when depth is a factor.

  6. I am intrigued by the reports that the McCaskeys will not consider an “alpha” personality for a coach, having gone that way with Ditka, and regretting it. If true, that would rule out someone like Vrabel or Belichik. Could that actually be true? I mean, look at the results they got with Ditka, and compare with the results they’ve gotten from the Jauron - Trestman - Nagy - Eberflus line of “beta” coaches.

  7. Some of you folks trying to take the high road and put these comments on the HH fans need to take an another look at the 3rd post of this thread that kicked everything off. You talk the game then for some reason claim the HH fans are “something”, give me a break! I didn’t partake or even predict a score, but don’t pretend this was one sided banter. Congrats to both teams on a great season! Both teams got here because they earned it! It’s a great day to be a Patriot, as always! Onward, onward, Heritage Hills … !!

  8. Purdue is absolute trash. Complete embarrassment if you are a Purdue fan. No way that coach survives this

  9. Just a comment that occurred to me earlier in the week when some were making comments regarding one team having 12 State Championships and HH not playing the schedule that Luers played. At the time, I just bit my tongue. My first thought was that Heritage Hills would likely have around 10 State Championships but for the fact they almost always faced Chatard in SemiState. The other thought I had was HH always brought it against Chatard and it was a bruising tough game….regardless who Chatard had played during the regular season. Congrats to HH.

  11. Big Winner Coach Snyder, Hoosier Conference, his reversible jacket went 2-0 over the weekend 🙂 Thanks @CoachDurham

  12. Why not??? I have no idea if Cathedral basketball or Cathedral overall receives a lot of incoming transfers. All I am saying is that the IHSAA should (if they are not doing so already) track transfers by school / program / coach in order to spot potential outliers.

  13. Colts score a 4th down TD with 12 seconds left, and then go for two, and Richardson runs over the Pats for a 25-24 win. It was two, not so good, teams playing a decent game.

  14. Congrats to our boys for a heck of a season, and congrats to Luers on winning the north. A good team with some excellent athletes. I have to say, I'm glad this one wasn't close. These boys and this community needed this. Like Coach Wilk said, "we love our 2000 boys and Cutler, but we are ready to talk about something else." Thanks guys, you will be talked about a long time. The fire trucks waiting when we got back to Spencer County and the line of cars bringing this group home was something. I've never seen so much traffic on I-69.

  15. Here is the original comment. Again, if you officiate a DAC or SAC or NIC game next season with a 6A team I suggest you own this comment in person and ask those coaches if they honestly believe they have a chance. Of course history is massively against the true North in the largest class. Still doesn’t make it a condescending comment, imo. Especially from someone who sometimes shares a field with those coaches and players.

  16. I see it now Coach…thanks

  17. Here are some facts! Only 2 teams north of Lafayette have won the largest class in high school football since 1978. Penn - 1983, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000 FW Snider - 1992 Portage - 1977 Merrillville - 1976 Valparaiso - 1975 South Bend Washington - 1973 Only 10 times since the playoffs started in 1973 have teams from north of Lafayette won the largest class. Penn has won 5 of the 10. Nobody from the DAC has won it since 1977.

  18. Brownsburg beat Westfield by 30 last year and Westfield still managed to win out in the HCC. The MOV from one independent game is a meaningless.

  19. NJ-SP will be a force in 1A for the foreseeable future. Even "coaches" learn things, and see teachable situations as time goes by. And that's a disparaging remark. I have always tried to suggest within a 'blowout' win, to think about the larger situation and perhaps the negative things that could happen within a contest that is well within control to a sideline. 54-0 would have been a moment for that to happen.

  20. You stated he was upset…by a single hand wave..ok

  21. Until the north starts playing football, there is just one thing to do. Move all teams north of Lafayette down one class. 🙂

  22. Dude, big difference, Purdue quit in the 2nd quarter, kept turning the ball over deep in their own territory, and couldn’t tackle for crap. Indiana played until the end against Ohio State. Day got his just due against Michigan yesterday…

  23. My guess is he was playing with something broke or something that would normally put you out a month or 2. It killed our offense the last 2 weeks but we were overcome it at semi- state. At state it killed us on both sides of the ball because not only does he make our offense go, he typically covered sideline to sideline on defense.

  24. How would the officials even monitor this?

  25. Yes, this! And congrats to the Patriots. They came, they saw, they conquered. And they're a damn fun team to watch. Not sure I've ever seen a 3A program hit as hard as they do. They're a complete team, not just a quarterback show.

  26. “Sectional of Death” with one less team, no idea who will be coming out of Sectional 32 next year. But how about them Hoosiers?

  28. Was injured in third quarter of regional when they were up 54-0. Coaches have to make decisions when to pull kids- some pull them early try to keep them healthy- some leave them and pad their stats- all have to live with those decisions.

  29. The dumbest comment I hear from those in favor of the success factor is when people say it allows for more kids to win a title im order to be “fair”to the kids who should have a chance to get to State too. However, it completely discounts the kids who are in (the private OR public)school right after the State teams have won and are gone. They have worked their ass cheeks off for years as well but in many cases wont get a shot because other classes before them were good too. Oh and by the way, if you’re a HUGE 6A school and win 4 in a row I guess that’s not an issue to the other public schools because I’m assuming they’re a public school and it’s really not about kids winning too much. To them it’s actually ONLY Private school kids winning too much. Having said that, private schools will figure out a way to win in higher classes bc that’s what they do. And when that happens, the separate tourney BS will REALLY start getting loud.

  30. I've never whitnessed a bigger batch of classless fans on this forum in all the years I've been here. I really hope it's not a reflection on the Heritage Hills community as a whole. That being said. Congrats to the Heritage Hills football team on their impressive performance. They were fun to watch.

  32. Quick question for the refs out there: Is it legal to give a player an IV at halftime and then have them come back and play? Asking for a friend.

  33. Congrats Patriots! I knew you’d find your way back here after seeing this team up close. Hell of a team and well deserved!

  34. Like I assumed in August. The winner of sectional 32 would win the state championship. Running clocks in regional and semi state and making Luers look foolish. Congratulations Patriots. Well earned blue ring.

  35. I'm watching on IHSAAtv. Looks like Heritage Hills would go undefeated against Luers schedule.

  38. You are correct and uncorrect! Kyle is a beat writer and Doyel is a columnist. You may not agree with everything that Doyel has to say, but you'd have to admit he's not afraid to take on the hard story and try to find the truth. His take on the Cathedral situation was a prime example of that. He actually delved into the situation and made his call. That's what a columnist does.

  40. The DOE affiliated Case Review Panel has overruled the IHSAA ruling today, and the three young men are now eligible to play varsity sports at Cathedral!

  41. My point exactly. These Southern Indiana fans don't quite grasp the level of talent and athleticism that goes on in Northeast Indiana, the SAC in particular. A slight win or loss to a number of teams in the SAC stacks up much better than big wins vs. county schools south of Bloomington. Just a fact. These HH fans will soon understand what I am talking about.

  42. East Noble is the real deal folks. New Pal is a very good team and may win the title, but the Knights will definitely show up and fight. Very confident that this will not be a blowout
