  1. That Mike Kirschner has the Mount Vernon Marauders 4-0 after beating New Palestine tonight. New weight room facilities last 2 years, new voice, new standard set and Coach Kirschner can flat out motivate and coach!! Congrats to the Marauders Big one this week vs Delta

  5. Mockabee is likely the best athelete in Southern Indiana, and now the leading rusher in the NATION...at least for now. BUT, I can't help but to think that the real story from last night is the fact that he did that but Brady and company still found a way to win. That is impressive. I wish they were both going to Purdue.

  7. If you were not offended, why even mention it? lol But a simple search of the word in this forum produces these examples..... And out of 23 appearances of that word, I use it 4 times; yet you somehow not being offended, choose to bring it up now?? lol

  8. In these divisive days, perhaps some shared memories of the experience might bring us more together. Share your thoughts, special memories, etc., regarding the 9/11 tragedy here. I watch this every year on this date. This commercial aired only one time: during the 2011 Super Bowl. And then it was withdrawn, because Anheuser Busch did not want to profit from it. I wouldn’t drink Budweiser if I were dying of thirst. But I’ll drink one tonight. Never forget.

  9. Plenty of time to improve. It was a W and put us at the top of the PAC. 5 more weeks to keep getting better. This team could be really good by the time post season rolls around.

  10. Well since the top two programs moved up, I guess that is to be expected.

  11. Congrats to the Irish, they were as good as advertised, particularly #16. Chatard actually did a fairly good (note "fairly good") job of covering up receivers initially and getting some pressure, but McCahill continually eluded the rush and put money balls right on his scrambling receivers. Props to Chatard for showing heart and keeping this somewhat a game. The size, depth, and talent disparity was evident. Actually surprised this wasn't a 50 point blowout in the first half based on the "eye test" of the players taking the field. And I'm not suggesting Chatard isn't talented, because they absolutely are. Cathedral is just on another level this year. Enjoy this season Irish fans, I think it's going to be a special year for you.

  12. Good for them..............and anyone else in the Duneland. Much respect for that conference, it's time for a state championship. I'll be pulling for the Pirates! And how bout Hobart? Not Duneland, but certainly a team The Region can be proud of!

  13. No dice. Portillo’s and Giordanos have entered the Indy market. CN would need to go No further than the Greenwood/Indy border for a Portillos. Throw some Koney King in to seal the deal. Maybe play at Chesterton and throw in George’s Original Gyro’s.

  14. Because as a GID moderator, and supposedly as a "molder of young minds" shouldn't you at the very least hold yourself to higher standard regarding your speech and choice of words? Are you 100% sure no students at New Haven High School read this forum? I don't read 100% of the posts in the OOB forum, so I probably missed the other X appearance of "that word". Also interesting you now refer to that swear world in that matter..................

  16. Yes, every penny is always accounted for in government school districts. Why shouldn't a taxpayer have a choice in where their child attends school, and how the monies that the state 'attaches' to that child are spent?

  17. I wonder if those programs are candidates for contraction? 😂 And a quick note. That wasn't just "a 4A school". They are ranked 3rd in the state and it was the first regular season loss for the Knights since August of 2018. That is a good program.

  18. Warsaw with a really good close win over an always tough Mishawaka team last night. Concord leading Wawasee by 2 scores when the transformer caught on fire. Game will be resumed today, but unless something drastically changes, I look for Concord to pull out a win over a decent Wawasee team. Northridge became the first Elkhart County team to shut out their first 3 opponents since Jimtown in 2012 (per Chuck Freeby). Northridge has outscored their opponents 106 to 0 this season. Next week should be a great game at Interra Field when Warsaw comes to town.

  19. This game was 19 - 0 at halftime. The Miner defense made stops in the red zone, twice. North Vermillion started turning over the ball in the second half giving the Miners short fields which they took advantage of. The Miners had 430+ yards of total offense. Edney is a good running back for the Falcons. He had some nice runs. The Falcons scored towards the end of the game against the JV. On to Boonville.

  21. We will take what a guy from Whineamac says with a grain of salt 😎. Friday night went just about as expected and once the D1’s destroy the lowly Thunderchickens today the weekend will be complete. Covington struggled for a while with the Stangs, but that is a rivalry game and ultimately came out with the expected double figure win. The Herbies flexed their muscle on RP. 2 questions still remain after this game: 1). Are the Herbies a contender or a pretender? 2). Will RP win a game? The Wolfs obviously didn’t have any bus trouble on the way to Flora and did what they do...a 3rd straight running clock game to start the 2nd half. We are witnessing history in the making folks as the Wolfs continue on with their streak of running clock games. Dare I say juggernaut?? NV struggled mightily with Linton which was to be expected. NV-RP next week...somebody has to win a game.

  22. So here's the story on Mockobees recruiting. He went to several rivals camps as a "DB" between his sophomore to junior year because that's the position he felt he could go d1 gained some interest Cincinnati, toledo,wmu... Well he had a stellar junior season and started to gain interest from schools as a RB. So he took basketball season off to gain weight and get his body to a TRUE 195LBs and was set to make trips as a RB to these camps to showcase his skills this past summer but unfortunately covid19 shut those plans down. I was hoping a Big 10 team would get him on board but unfortunately it didn't happen. I believe because of exposure. Mockobee has a 122" broadjump, 34" vertical, 6.98 3 cone, 4.0 pro shuttle. Hes got the measurements for sure to play Big10 forsure.

  23. A couple of interesting points from the Indy Politics poll, which this article is citing. Virtually all of Rainwater’s numbers are coming at Holcomb’s expense. Another caveat that I found very telling, 16% of Holcomb’s supporters plan to vote for Biden for president. I have felt all along Holcomb had no chance of losing this election, however in this freakish year, I now think he has a very real chance of losing. In my opinion, conservatives in this state are fed up with RINOs, which Holcomb certainly is. Holcomb is on the wrong side of some several issues, that alone don’t amount to much, but combined may put a second term in jeopardy. I am on the Rainwater bandwagon. I’m on the anybody but Eric Holcomb bandwagon.

  28. IMO Capehart from North is the best player in the SIAC. Wait till you see him. We’ve played the top 3 teams and IMO North is #1. SIAC is tough almost every week.

  29. Really? I don't think there is any doubt. Mockobee in a landslide. Brady can play, obviously, but no doubt who the MVP of the PAC is at this point.

  30. I look at NA about the same as I do Jeff. It was a 12-7 game last week at half when they played each other. NA ended up beating them 26-7 but it was a struggle for 3 quarters.. and Elder would make a lot of teams look bad lol; they are a great football team.

  31. Providence and Jeffersonville are awful. I’ll give you that. But Elder vs NA would have been ugly of epic proportions.

  32. I agree completely. That is actually my point, and has been my issue from day 1 of the voucher program. They can and do openly discriminate; not only who they let in their schools, but who can work in them as well. They can also deny services to special needs students, giving the parents one option; sign the waiver or go back to public school. It is also THE point that people ignore when they talk about the cost of education per student in private schools compared to public schools. One final point; there is absolutely no accountability in place for how voucher schools spend those tax dollars; whereas every penny has to be accounted for in public school districts.

  34. You all don’t know how much I love this. Floyd Central quarterback Tristan Polk said the noise leading up to Friday only put a chip on the team’s shoulders. “We played hard all three weeks so far and now four. We felt disrespected, disrespected that New Albany would be ranked higher than us,” he said. “We felt we played better teams and better against the same teams we played. We were offended and we came out and shows how much better we were.” Hungry team.

  35. I don’t think many expected this to be a game. New Albany hasn’t been able to stop anyone this year with the D they have. They almost lost to a 2A school a few weeks ago. I think they gave up 45+ to them lol.

  36. Before @Fogertyputmein rips my head off lol, the East defense outside of penalties has been good. Defensive penalties killed East in field position some tonight. Jeff is 5-12 for 24 yards in the air, 20 carries for 54 yards. 78 total yards. Columbus East is 1-3 for 7 yards in the air, 25 carries for 348 yards. 355 total yards. Don’t expect East to score much more this game, a lot of new faces will get some playing time.

  37. I got it the first time you explained it. If you would have just said "I was talking about the difference between Mater Dei and Perry Central with Mater Dei being much bigger. Back in 1A it was Perry Central in sectional 48 as the team to beat. Now it's Mater Dei in sectional 40 in 2A." I would not have had anything else to say. Instead you added "I just looked up the enrollments for 20 - 21. Mater Dei is listed with 497 students. Linton has 391. That is a difference of 108."
