  1. Just wanted to give a hug shout out to the players, coaches, cheerleaders, and fans from Eastern Hancock last night. After the tragedy of having one of students passing away in the stands before our game last week, the EH faithful brought a sign to the coin toss honoring her. These kind of acts are what makes the game worthwhile. Need more of this kind of being humane to one another on and off the field.

  2. This is the second 40+ year streak broken by the Wildcats in 2020. The previous streak, one slightly more dubious, where the Wildcats had not won an SIAC game in over 40 years, went by the wayside earlier in the season with the opening game victory over Memorial

  3. Last night, after a hard fought game, Jasper lost its first SIAC game since 1978. That is 42 years between loses in the SIAC. For perspective, the median age in the US is 38 so over half the people in this country weren’t alive the last time Jasper lost a SIAC game. That is a phenomenal accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication players, coaches, and parents have made over that time. Congrats on the accomplishment and to the next 42 years.

  8. Son, this will probably end up being a freezing cold take. Unless your definition of “destroy” is different from mine.

  9. I figured with Carmel being in the south it would weaken it enough for a Region team to make it...

  12. Just saw this one was scheduled on Twitter, has to be the best matchup of the year that Covid has brought us so far. Huge opportunity for Merrillville here to cement themselves as state title contenders with a win next week. Praying this one will be streamed

  13. Coach Doyle is a Workers Compensation attorney. I’ve met him a couple of times. He is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, an organization of which I’m a past president. He is highly regarded in his field.

  15. Didn't know exactly how many but knew there were quite a few (penalties) especially in that second half. That first half was actually entertaining. Close game. Given the situation, I think the Warriors gave a good account of themselves. By the way, they play Linton this Friday. Thanks for "softening" them up for us. LOL I thought the QB for North Knox played a fairly decent game against that Bomber defense. He had a few nice runs. But overall, the Bomber defense made the stops when they needed to. Once it got to a 2 score lead in the 3rd quarter, it seemed that North Knox just couldn't keep up. They couldn't get their stops. Kinda put them at "arm's length" as the saying goes.

  16. Interesting factoid for Region folk. Chatard Head Coach Rob Doyle is a graduate of Andrean (‘78, I believe) and Depauw. He was a QB at both and I also believe in each of those institutions Hall of Fame (or something along those lines). He is also, when not coaching, a practicing attorney and partner of a law firm. Kudos to Andrean.

  17. You were spot on my friend: 9 for 85, have not been that sloppy all year, all legit it seemed when I reviewed it on the IPAD. Back to Back 15 yarders helped their last score for sure. We had 30 1st downs and 429 yards of offense and held NK to 9 1st downs and 209 of total offense, but didn't capitalized in key moments, especially 1st half. NK runs simiular offense as us, with a few wrinkles so it was fun to see it and go against it. Appreciate all of the NK folks, coaches and players, to make this happen.

  20. Hamilton Heights suspended all season ticket sales. In the past, I have bought a "Family" pass every year that gets any or all of us into any school event at any level. This year is killing me having to pay every time we go. Plus my daughter believes she has to attend every single event in every sport. They aren't even honoring my "Golden Husky Pass" that is supposed to get me in to any school function for free. It's given out free to alumni over 60 who live in the school district. It only expires if I do. Or evidently if there is a pandemic.

  25. Amazing game. I almost turned it off not being even a distant fan of Carmel. I’ve been a CG fan ever since.

  26. No but since you brought up comebacks I'm obliged as a CG fan to mention the 2008 5A state championship game where CG trailed Carmel by 19 with 6:15 left in the game and came back to win.

  28. I will be very interested to hear how this one turns out. I’ve seen Merrillville. They are big, fast, and athletic. But Chatard is a different animal than what they usually face. Very disciplined, and they fear absolutely nothing and no one. Merrillville has a problem with penalties. They’ll find that they can’t give away 75-100 yds. in penalties and beat a team like Chatard. It’ll be a great contrast in styles.

  30. Dude is an absolute monster. If he had another 2 inches in length on his frame, he'd be getting a ton of D1 attention. Still think he has everything he needs to compete in the BIG10. I'm extremely high on that young man.
