okay bear with me this is gonna be a wild ride. first thing were doing is moving to a 15 game regular season, and forcing out of conference opponents, so we can get proper ratings for all teams. were getting rid of the mercy rule because its shit. were getting rid of the all in format. 10 points required to make it to playoffs 1 point for a win against a school of 400 or more 2 points for a win against a school of 1000 or more no location based games in playoffs, this bracket is seeded all the way from first to last. by sagarin rating. higher seed gets home team every single game. only one tournament all classes duke it out together state championship is a best of three played on the same day (so I still get to watch football all day), since it would otherwise only be one game. Mr. Football exclusively goes to a player from whichever team comes out on top, because lets face it, he earned that shit at this point. edit: I'm aware 'the best solution' is a stupid name for an idea, however I had to change it to that after a sudden realization about the former title.

LOL. I was curious to see where he had Carroll as well. I watched most of their game with Penn. I was very surprised by their size, speed, and talent. I've been burned before thinking Carroll was ready for Hamilton County so I'll patiently wait to see how this unfolds.

Concussion moms? No, seriously I think Carmel may actually have gotten too big for itself. The fanbase seems disinterested and the disconnect between the football program and fan attendance shows. I joked that they may have gotten bored with winning but that was sort of tongue-in-cheek. Fair point. He is not quite the same thrower he used to be. Even the Doubs catch last night was not a great throw. Rodgers has struggled for a few years now with the deep ball. What I found curious last week is the comment he made about too many guys making mistakes, or something along those lines. One thing is certain is he is very intentional with what he says\, and even more so about what he does not say. At no time did he ever say anything like "myself included."

The Indianapolis Star strikes again. Their lack of editing is absurd. The reporter on site was given a roster and 10 pages of game notes that list him as a junior in several places, so there's really no excuse for this. Thomas is a junior. And he was up and moving after the play. Tried to put a brace on but ultimately was shut down for the night.

I will admit I’ve been to OV a few times over the years as well as having them in the road. They don’t have a much tradition. Good for OV, always good to see some success after a long drought. I’m quite familiar Pike Central, having spent a lot of time in Petersburg in my yute. We’ve been sent to Pike Central a couple of times in the tournament. Pike County was pretty much decimated when the coal industry petered out. It has been a tough situation. Again, happy to see Pike Central have a little success. If I’m not mistaken I thought I heard on Bob Lovell’s show a couple of weeks ago it was PC’s first tournament win. No interest in arguing merits of PC being there, just happy to see a couple of teams enjoy a little success when they’ve had so little over the years. Congrats to both teams.

Where did you have Boonville prior to last week? The Pioneers knocking off Reitz was probably the biggest surprise to me last week.

LOL...There's no telling what Reinsdorf would do to the Sox. He basically ruined them the past two seasons by insisting they hire his good friend Tony. It's been well documented by the Chicago media that he forced LaRussa onto his GM and President. He could be the worse owner in Pro Sports simply because he's awful in two different leagues. The Bulls have done absolutely nothing outside of hitting the generationaly lottery with Jordan. The year the Sox won the World Series could be the only year they've actually won a playoff series with Reinsdorf as the owner. If not, there's no way it's happened more than once. Honestly, between the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Purdue, I'm not really sure why I enjoy watching sports.

Not certain about Burnett. I listened to the broadcast and don't recall anything being mentioned about an injury. Vera as a non-factor was a big surprise to me too. He was the difference against MD. Offense had much better rhythm with him at QB and his threat to run changed the game. Kept thinking he was going to come in at any pt in the 2nd half to give RHS a boost. Reitz had a couple of HUGE plays down the stretch but ran out of time. Glad to hear folks talking about the extra point attempt being tipped. Spread the word... It would be a difficult thing to live down on the Hill if you were the one who muffed a kick and lost the game back in 2022... Some Big Blue fans can be rather unforgiving and unkind, at least in my 50+ years of dealing with them.

I think Sullivan will get there scores and get their yards, but we have to make them earn in... none of the big long pass plays for touchdowns. ... but the real question will be can they stop the Miner offense? Linton needs to click as well... need their passing game to be a factor so Sullivan can't just key on Gennicks.

And then there were two. Northfield and Rochester the lone conference teams remaining in the tournament. One game I think will be very competitive and might come down to the very end. The other might be over by halftime. Who ya got this week and whats your opinion on the games! Northfield and Adams Central (not sure which one is home) I'm taking the Jets here. That offense is a well-oiled machine and the defense is very physical. I think Northfield will try to limit the amount of possessions they have. For Northfield to have a chance, they have to be able to get those 3 and 4 yard gains every play, drain the clock, and hold onto the ball when they have it. I just don't think even if they do that they will be able to stop the AC offense. Lafayette Central Catholic at Rochester Give me the Zebras here. Demming, Ferverda, and Beck behind that line just keeps on cranking out yards with the team as a whole surpassing 4,000 yards on the season so far after last game. LCC throws the ball extremely well and does enough on the ground to compliment it really well. I think if Rochester holds onto the ball they win. If LCC forces them to turn the ball over, LCC takes it. In a clean game from both teams, I'm going with the Zebras by a touchdown.

I agree. Andy's done a great job with the team. Folks may not know this, but I'll toot Andy's horn for him ... he and Steve Ade did a phenomenal job with the BC youth program back in the day even when the odds seemed stacked against them. They gutted it out and worked with those kids and kept them engaged when the program, both youth and high school was struggling. Andy's now getting that chance to take those kids that he nurtured early on and be with them to enjoy the fruits of their early labors. Hats off to him and Steve ... and all of the other coaches around who just won't quit and invest that time at the youth level.

Back when the brouhaha about whether he would come back to the Packers was going on, Gutekunst basically said “we’ll do anything to keep him.” I think sucking up to him like they did was exactly the wrong tack to take with Rodgers’ personality. Basically, they enabled his “I, me, mine” mentality.

Rochester wins

Triton came in with a great gameplan against Judson and Judson seemed to come out flat. Triton's coach really made a crucial mistake when the score was 12-6. They had 3rd and 6 inside the 50 and decided to throw the ball deep instead of using the 2 downs to try to pound out 6 yards.

I am not so sure I would say that right now. Fishers lost in OT to HSE 28-27 and lost to Westfield 28-17. Westfield dropped an early one to New Pal (who is evidently very good regardless of class this year)and lost to HSE 26-21 and actually had a lead on Brownsburg at halftime on the road. Westfield has steadily improved (evidenced by their win over Carmel). HSE is in my opinion Head and Shoulders above all remaining 6A North teams (we will se how it plays out), and Fishers and Westfield are right there with HSE. I am not sure I would go that far. Penn hasn't exactly been killing it the last couple of years. Right now I would take Fishers and Westfield over Carroll or Snider personally. Fortunately for Snider or Carrol they won't see Fishers or Westfield (unless they upset HSE which is very possible). I personally think barring any injury HSE will be coming out of the North (and I will eat my words if I am wrong).

West Central has a couple nice athletes in the Marlatt boy and White boys...both are quick. Pilarski is a good player and Beiswinger is a good lineman but their probably the weakest 10-1 you'd ever see.

So the old NSC? Well Bremen will probably have a running clock against them. Jimtown/Knox is a tossup that I have no idea, lean towards Knox but Jimtown has been playing well. I think NP takes it and gives Northwood all they can handle in the regional.

1A South: Sect 45 - Sheridan has been running over teams lately with their big back, and that should continue against Hagerstown. The run will end with a sectional title, as North Decatur awaits them in the regional. The Blackhawks have some athletes, but not nearly as many as the Chargers. Sect 46 - The title game occurred in the first round (Tri), the second round (Milan) was a challenge, but the third round (Knightstown) will offer a nice break for North Decatur. JV players will see their last signifcant snaps of the year. Sect 47- Forget the JH prediction (49-21, LuHi). This game will go one of two ways: 1) a one-score game favoring whoever has the ball last, or 2) Lutheran triggers much Facebook angst by hanging 80 on the Warriors, throwing deep for the last two scores. Sect 48 - Rooting for Providence in this one, but think Tecumseh is simply meaner. Tecumseh's #25 looks like he's 5 years older than everyone else on the field. Should be a good game.

This one might. In the early days of Owen Valley football (early 70's), they didn't have a playable field. They played their home games at Cloverdale. A few years later, they finally got a field built, and had a huge crowd and big ceremonies for the opening night field dedication game. The lead trumpet player marched out to midfield, mic-ed up, to solo the Star Spangled Banner. He missed two of the first three notes, paused, and muttered an "aww F#$@" heard clearly over the loud speakers, before playing flawlessly the rest of the way. Took it almost 50 years to drop to the second best night in OV football history.

I was fortunate enough to see NorthWood play last night. I have been to a game every Friday night and in my opinion Nitro Tuggle is the best player I have seen this year.

I could see North getting caught sleepwalking at the start against Anderson and fall behind early but they should be able to turn that around quickly and cruise from there. When it comes to a Snider-North rematch, I see it still being a close game. But in close games Special Teams, Discipline, and Coaching are all big factors and in those three areas Snider has a HUGE advantage

If you were going to award it based on NFL talent neither Kiser or Bell would have won that year Karlaftis would have Kiser was the best all-around player. I will take it a step further, had Kiser played for Warren Central he would have been QB tearing up the MIC and you wouldn’t have heard of Bell or Elliott. 6’2 220 and animal on football field. Also qualified for state finals in the 100, shot put and discus! Who does that? prove me wrong.

I’m just saying….if you believe that David bell being in the nfl is an argument for why he should have won mr football….you’re a full blown idiot. the award is about their high school performance and their representation of Indiana football….it includes statistical accomplishments over a season and a career….but it has absolutely nothing to do with the number of stars a player has on their recruiting profile nor does it have anything to do with their nfl potential. it’s honestly irritating reading these comments because it’s hindsight BS with zero to no logic other than you can read a 247/rivals report….congrats

Clay's varsity field is at their middle school, but I can't remember what they call it - Clay Field probably. Riley plays at Jackson Field, also at their middle school, and Adams and Washington play at School Field.

I haven’t been to Washington in probably 8-10 years, but Washington always had a nice playing surface. I would think given their physical layout this is going to impact their track?
