Glad Snider got that win. Wasn't pretty, but they got the job done.

It won't be 100-0, LCC is playing NM, not Frankfort. I'm just kidding! Muda might not believe this, but I think Frankfort will have a good football team again someday. Some might not remember, but North Montgomery won state in 1995 and 1996. NM went 13-1 in 1995 and they only beat Frankfort 20-18 that year. Crawfordsville was the only team to beat NM in 1995.

I watched the broadcast and they showed the crew within 40 seconds of the down ending. There was no personnel from either team involved in a huddle. The coaches were near and trying to get involved but the crew did a good job keeping them out and moving away from them and the coaches complied. Just because the AD may have threatened the crew with calling Faulkens doesn't mean that had any influence in their discussion. Agreed an immediate flag would have better, this is an unusual and whoever saw the players on the field (most likely the U or B) wasn't exactly sure there was a foul that would extend the game so wanted to confer with the crew to make sure. Can you imagine the anger the other way if they signaled illegal substitution or unsportsmanlike conduct and correctly still ended the game? Based on the video, that probably would have been the correct call, but it wouldn't have changed the outrage from the game. It would have only changed which team was screaming.

And those big plays were on poorly thrown jump balls. I just don't understand why a team would go spread and try to throw the ball around the field when accuracy is a major issue.

It won't matter to him. He only looks at final score and lumps them all the same regardless of what happened.

I'm still not sold on CP winning a Semistate game against an INDY area team this year . They may win the Regional but it ends there . Crown Point has only played 3 teams with a winning record .

Mississineawa @ Bishop Luers - Great matchup here. Undefeated team against a battle tested team. Don’t think Miss. has seen the talent and speed Luers possesses. While the Luers offense is not great, that defense is pretty good Luers wins 24-21 East Noble @ Bishop Dwenger - A few weeks ago, I would have said this would be a blowout, but things have changed for the Saints. That defense is really good, the offense, not so much. The Knights are a real threat to represent the North at state. I give a slight nod to the Saints defensively, but a big nod to the Knights offensively. East Noble wins 28-14 Snider @ Carroll - A rematch of an earlier game where the Chargers had their way 30-6. Snider has tweaked some things offensively since then and has been more effective while the Panthers defense has been pretty stellar all year. Everything went right for the Chargers in the first meeting and something’s tells me this will be a much closer game. QB Sullivan is the difference. Hope I am wrong, but Carroll wins 28-17

Absolutely. Those to interceptions were massive. The Elkhart "drive" of 89 yards was the result of a very long pass down the field that put them at the Snider 10. Long plays count too, I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying it wasn't the kind of 89 yard drive that chewed up a lot of clock. And yeah, the holding penalty was a major setback. My guess is that they would have been going for a field goal regardless. At the end of the day, Snider made the plays they needed to to win the game. I couldn't help but to feel for the Elkhart kids as they played their hearts out. Unfortunately, one team had to win, one had to lose. Snider seems to take over games midway though the third and into the fourth, just as they did last year against Merrillville and Decatur Central..........both close first half games that turned into blowouts.

It does matter but 90% of the comments I've seen arguing about this call are wrong in referencing the applicable rules. If the Danville players had been 5-10 yards closer then their enforcement was 100% correct. It was that close. The outrage from Danville would have been the same in that instance though. That's my point. The fact the crew would have been correct if they had ruled illegal substitution, enforced the penalty, and still ended the game, the outrage would have been similar from the Brebeuf faithful. The same rule ignorance would apply. I've seen comments from fans saying the crew ruled 5 minutes after the game was over (it was 90 seconds). I've seen comments that the runner was down before the ball came out (it was clearly out). I've seen comments saying the QB took his helmet off while the play was still live (it was after the play was over which was perfectly fine). I've seen comments that the whistle blew before the Danville players came on the field (they were on the field while the ball was still live). I've seen comments that the game was over when the whistle blew (the whistle only notified everyone the play was over but not the game). Video clearly shows all of those are false, but people are adamant they happened. Ultimately the crew made an incorrect judgement on the location of the players or the wrong penalty enforcement for a unique situation they may have never seen.

Very true..the training staff has never put an athlete in harms way..nor should they..he was put in a boot asap vs the lions for that exact reason...I know some of their trainers n team doctors n personally know how much they care for those kids..

You would have to define "siding". If admitting that an error was made in an official's ruling (on RULES APPLICATIONS, not judgements), then its way better than 1 in a 1000. Probably more like 25% or better. If anyone is defining "siding" as overruling an egregious error to allow a team to advance/lose on said 'crew/call' then its 0%. Its written in black and white by the NFHS. The one time that I was aware of the IHSAA having repercussions on an official (within sports that I am familiar with); Is years ago when Vincennes Lincoln walked off a Baseball game. But the batter/runner removed his helmet in celebration before he touched home plate. They called him out, Incorrectly. Jasper then went on the win the contest in extra innings and advance in the tournament. This was UPHELD. Jasper advanced not VL. The IHSAA did make note that the rule was misapplied in this situation. Those officials were removed for the remainder of the tournament.

They looked pretty solid earlier this year in my opinion plus they won three straight sectionals. They also beat three teams(Riverton Parke, Eastern, Sheridan) who are still playing and an undefeated Frontier team so it's not like they played a bunch of 1st yr programs. I just think they were making mental mistakes early and things just started to go sideways.

LCC has never played North Montgomery before in football. North Mont is not that far from Lafayette, but for some reason LCC has never played them. Let's look at some of the results for North Montgomery this year. Lebanon 42 NM 0 Western Boone 56 NM 14 Danville 47 NM 14 Tri-West 70 NM 0 OH MY! If Lafayette Jeff doesn't lay an egg against Kokomo, this will be the 3rd time in history that LCC and Lafayette Jeff have won football sectionals in the same year. The other years were 2022 and 1989. In 2022 Jeff beat Crown Point and LCC beat Rochester. In 1989 Jeff beat Marion and LCC beat Sheridan to win the sectional. Lafayette Jeff has never won a regional in football before, but Jeff has always been in the largest class until this year.

LaVille at North Judson- Every year this is a tough battled game and both teams are a much improved team since their week 2 matchup. Hopefully judson does not overlook them but my belief is that Judson will continue to handle their business. Weird things always happen at LaVille... Jays win 30-14 Taylor at Pioneer- Taylor has certainly had an up and down season and seems like a team that can surprise anyone. Pioneer has had a quietly good season that has gone under the radar to anyone outside the HNAC conference until last Friday's beatdown of Carrol. Both teams have great athletes at QB but Pioneer's discipline makes the difference. Panthers win 35-14 Triton at North Miami- Both of these teams have been playing well since their last matchup. Think this game is truly a toss up. It may depend on which team gets distracted by the Ham salad sandwhiches on the sideline. 🤣 Triton wins 22-21

But getting the call right does matter as to which team is screaming. While its sad for any senior to conclude their football playing career regardless of which team, its still easier to swallow if the game deciding call is the correct one. Your comment feels a little like rationalizing that it doesn't matter. I struggle with that.....

It should be, they probably haven’t posted it on there yet. They have live-streamed all of Memorial games through Regionals over the last 2 years. IHSAA takes over when Semi-State happens.

what an atmosphere it was at the ROY. The SV folks definitely showed up. might be the biggest opponent turnout that I've seen locally..... miner D was just on target. Serious pressure on Dom didn't allow him to see his targets...but the DB's for the most part did awesome. 1 blown deal...which resulted in a score. Miner offense couldn't be stopped. Everything that had to happen for Linton to win... happened. SV had short field many times. Red Zone 0-2 21 yards line 0-1... Linton had three 90+ grind it out drives all for points. Definitely the more physical team was in Red. No Question Garzolini could throw... he put a couple right on the hands in crowded situations. He tried to get time in the pocket by moving around. Wallace Weir and Coleman all made great catches. No running game didn't help the Wildcats. Linton's Voigtschild had game of his Miner Career 200+ rush yards. I was also impressed with 25 Shyrock and 59 Higgins on the defensive side. Rough night for Vermillion County.... Congrats to SV on an amazing season....10-1.. best record in history I believe? They can be proud. hurts now ..but they did alot this year and they will be remembered for that for years.

How good are the top 4 teams in the HNAC? The only non-conference losses by any of those teams were to 3A Knox (Pioneer) and 2A Bremen (Triton) - who are both playing for sectional titles this week. I think the real measure will come in the regional game between either North Miami or Triton, and Madison Grant. An HNAC win in that game would absolutely solidify the HNAC as the best 1A football conference in the state!

LCC, running clock in the 2nd half. The sectional championship was played last Friday. I believe that LCC was pretty close to 50-50 in the run/pass yardage category against Webo.

Warren has 5 games of teams scoring 0 points and has multiple games where they kept teams from under 100 yards total they easily have the best defense in the state

This take is very subjective. What criteria are you basing this on? What are the boundaries? I'll see your Adam Berry and raise you Mike Johnson, the guy that built the program that Berry inherited. Or I can throw in a Russ Radke. Love him or hate him, the dude can flat out coach and wins. Lambert at North Judson has to be in the conversation as well. I'm not saying Berry isn't a good coach, I'm just saying it's premature to call him the best in the area.

While the Lions were dominant today, it just seems like LaFleur cannot get a team ready for games on this level. One thing I really do not get is taking the ball at the start of the game when you win the toss. This is not the first time this year where a team has scored against them late in the half and got the ball to start the 2nd half. I also think that Love has developed some really bad habits. He tries to hard to make a play and has put his team in a bind twice now giving up a pick 6 on a ball that should never be thrown. He was close to another pick on a stupid throw late in this one as well.

Oh I know HH defense is legit, and I agree what you said. This will be best defensive team (and team) Memorial will face. Going to be a fun matchup nevertheless, since it’s finally happening after all the speculation.

If just 1 of the refs threw a flag WHEN THE INFRACTION APPARENTLY OCCURRED, maybe it would be slightly more acceptable. When the crew huddles up with the home team AD chirping at them while the teams shake hands, things start to look a bit wonky.

I agree with you, but several on here think CP is coming out of the North again. I think if it is CP vs. Westfield it will be a great game. I would pick Westfield if the game were today, but lots of things to happen over the next 2 weeks to change my mind

Illegal substitution is also a non-player foul and probably the better call than UNS, but both get the same result. Otherwise I agree with you. This doesn't happen that often and the crew had to piece together what they believe happened. Maybe 1 or 2 officials saw the players come on the field, and they were also focused on action of the play itself while that happened. They wanted nothing more than to get it right and believe based on the information they had at the time they got it right. When crazy plays like that happen, we sometimes get crazy results. Danville stays on the sideline until the whistle blows and none of this is being discussed. I get why they thought the play was over and got excited. But they are not 100% without responsibility here.
