  1. Are referees on the verge of possible contraction? I hope not!

  2. Heckuva ball game. Titans really put it all out there and only fell 43-35. A 1 score game. Great game by the guys. This is the reason GS schedules these types of games...to get your bell rung a bit and see how you respond. Notes of the game: 1) GS’s OL and DL can play with the big boys. They stopped the run plenty of times and they could run pretty well all game as well as give Brady time to throw on most plays. Some weren’t there and the defense got there but the big boys at GS largely did their job and did a great job. 2) Southport made a number of false starts that put them in less than ideal situations....many on 3rd down. 3) The titans secondary did okay most of the game but the Brevin Jefferson kid was a “back pocket” weapon. Titans could get the Cardinals into 3rd/4th down with a good chunk to go...and Southport would just run a go route and Brevin had it almost every time. 9 catches 221 yards....definitely give that kid a game ball because GS had no answer for him. 4) Just a good all around game that ultimately GS couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down and 3 turnovers decided the ball game Never a thing as a good loss but GS is probably very happy still and will get a lot to build on from this game. this is the box score from the game. Good luck to Southport on the rest of their season. Thoughts and prayers out to their QB who went down in the 4th. Hope he is okay

  3. Played bad? Or played a team with a defense finally? Gotta give credit to Attica for holding “the best offense in WRC history” to 26 points

  4. I'm not sure it was an "official shortage" issue as much as it was "the contracted officials didn't show up" issue.

  5. Linton came on the field.. by the look of the numbers they could field 3 teams very impressive. No shortage of players from Linton! Ive got to say the Miners have a real solid team.. they have the ability to adapt to the situation very well. And the guys helping from the press box can get annoying but are a great asset to the Miners combined attack. They were giving great insight to what players where screwing up and who to watch. Let's just say they know the game the team and Coach Oliver is very lucky to have them up there. Both teams came out tough and was beginning to think this may be #2 the Falcons take from the Miners but late in the 3rd and 4th realization set in and started thinking if the Falcons played as hard and didnt give up against A #7 ranked 2A team like the Miners it's going to be a great year and playing Thanksgiving weekend agian. The Miners also have have a good chance of playing on that weekend with so many options of attack I'm surprised they are not 4-0 on the season. In all aspect The battle between both teams was great.. it was a hard faught ballgame and the Falcons found out what they could do against a great team.

  7. From the looks of it the Irish football team has done well for itself. @ Cincinnati Elder 38-31 loss in OT Chatard 31-21 win It's unfortunate that @IndplsCathedral_Dad, @PHJIrish, the rest of the Irish Dads and tailgate crew don't have a face to go with the screen name. I get the feeling if @CaptainHook were to shout "1906" there would be mass laughter. In all seriousness, nice wins for New Palestine, Cathedral, and Valparaiso. FW Dwenger lost a close one to a very good Homestead. Some other contenders showing up as well in Bloomington North and Terre Haute South. I think most will agree 5A has a lot more depth of very good teams at the top this year compared to last year. I think come tournament time 5A will be one of the more interesting classes. Defending Champion New Pal will remain at the top until someone beats them. I do love all the teams (more than just New Pal, Cathedral, FW Dwenger, and Valparaiso) really looking to make 5A very interesting. Best of luck to all!

  8. I should add that it was really nice to be back at Arlington tonight! The field held up quite well. I've been told that this could be the start of more games at this venue.

  10. @DT I’m not much of a guy when it comes to knowing anything about Northern Indiana football....but I think I highlighted the issue. The best coaches always bring out the best in their players. Idk anything about the new coach or schemes or the numbers they have but at least on paper/your post...just think you answered your own concern here. Replacing a great coach is always a tall task

  13. I seen that earlier and I kept watching because 55 was cracking me up 😂 he had a certain swag to his step with a “you messed with the wrong QB today son” Not that i endorse the extracurriculars, But I always love to see the Big OL guys stick up for their QB. Just one of those things where I sit back and say oh boy with a grin

  14. Good call. I think that, similar to Eastbrook, their schedule helps them be prepared for the tournament. The rest of their schedule being 3A and 4A teams may give them a bump or two, but should get them ready for a run!

  16. no such thing as a moral victory, but proud of the titans. what might have been if you save the 3 turnovers, on to the next one, IB

  17. I feel ya there. Being out of state almost guarantees you won’t get to see a video of the team outside of highlights. Pretty much get 1/2 chances a year to watch live for GS and seemingly it always has issues Southport 10 GS 7 southport returns a kickoff to the 21 that leads to a score.

  20. No need to harass the good folk of Pike County or subject them to Mr. Estonia's bus driving ability. Let's stay on the topic of the new PACs.

  21. It looks like Cass is a big threat in the North. Return a lot from the team last year that took Eastbrook down to the wire in the post season and have 2 or 3 quality wins already this year starting 4-0

  22. Article mentioned an assigner, do we know for a fact this crew was thru an assigner? I’m not ready to assign blame until we have a lot more info, but with today’s communication technology, this sort of thing should NEVER happen.

  23. No that's not what I was saying at all. I forgot to put the I in there as in myself..hard to come back from 3 scores when you play a team like Linton but you wouldnt know how that feels as the the wolves have not played any caliber team yet like Linton! These Falcons never give up I mean never and last night showed it

  24. Pike Central High School covers the entire county. Many, many little county roads. If they had to take kids to each the north, south, east, and west of the county some kids would be getting home very late.

  25. Hoping to watch the livestream of this. Supposed to be finishing a patio/firepit in the back 40 but since the trailboss is away this afternoon I think I might be able to take it in. Hell, love to actually go to this game.

  26. Don't be surprised to see the Falcons back at Lucas Oil Thanksgiving weekend. If their defense improves a little by tournament time, they will be a tough out for the other 1A teams. The offense is really good. Several nice weapons for Ellis to use. The Miners played a methodical type game. Good balance on the offensive side. The defense made some stops when they needed to. Still a few too many mistakes with penalties. Hope that gets cleaned up soon.

  27. I should probably edit my post. By contender I didn't mean contender to win 5A. I meant contender for the top 5 spot. I believe New Palestine, Cathedral, Valparaiso, and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger sit in the top 4 spots. I feel there are several teams jockeying to be among that top 5 including Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Michigan City, Terre Haute South, Franklin, and even Decatur Central

  28. Bloomington North has a good team this year. Contender ..... . uh not quite . Their qb is a soph and he has some targets that are juniors. Maybe .. . .. . . Maybe a contender in a year or two. They would lose to cathedral or new pal or any of the other top teams by 4 scores.

  29. Good test for both teams. I think it helps Linton in the long run to see an offense like North Vermillion's wide-open spread. Ellis has plenty of options and at times was able to pick-and-choose. 25-34 passing, 221 yards. But...the Miners still manage to put points on the board. 471 yards total offense (unofficially – 260 rush, 211 pass). Goodman 12-17, 211 yards, 2 TDs (69 and 25). We had a ballgame on our hands when the Falcons cut it to 19-14 3 1/2 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Miners find the end zone three more times for the 38-20 win.

  30. I’m guessing that my prediction of Eastbrook going undefeated in the CIC is not sounding so crazy now, is it?

  31. But... remember Luers played Penn as one of their "out of conference" games back in the day. Luers doesn't try to dodge tough teams -- they seek them out! And Luers does not consider Dwenger a "big" brother. Luers opened first. Luers joined the SAC in '60. Dwenger joined in '65. The kids *like* being considered an underdog. They say "Let em sleep."

  33. Not tonight it didn’t but yes the talent level is of course down some. Tonight was heart and effort. BNL was stronger and faster than Madison. Madison had more heart and I’ll give them credit for that.

  34. Eastbrook reaping the rewards for their schedule. No doubt in my mind the Marion/Delta games toughened this young group up and put them in a position tonight they probably would not have been in if they had not challenged themselves early. Congrats to the players on this win. Very impressed.

  35. The coal business results in families who do not stay in the community. That's the short of it. They've had minor success in basketball when they get 2-3 players, but to build a football program, they need generational stability IMHO.

  38. Luers can and will compete in the sac..you don't have alumni with the last name of Smith or Spencer by luck.. they beat 6a Carroll last year and just need 1 or 2 dominate classes to run the table in the sac..

  41. Tell that to the Indiana State Legislature, who enacted the law Mr. Killion is trying to redact. And I wonder who is paying the WL legal team for this lawsuit? Oh yes, the taxpayers. On a lawsuit that has nothing to do with the the education of the WL students, but with Mr. Killion's ego and hatred of Charter schools.

  42. Because if Mr. Killion truly supported school choice and public charter schools he may have not brought suit against the State of Indiana. As a legal professional where do you stand on the constitutionality of the law in question?

  43. My contempt toward government education is not irrational. It is based on the concept of personal freedom, responsibility, and the fact that the government schools are failures, designed not to teach our children how to think but how to conform to the status quo. To be good little workers for the state, toiling away so the government could take a larger and larger portion of their incomes to fund the socialist agendas the likes of you and Dante love so much. https://www.naturalchild.org/articles/guest/john_gatto.html

  44. https://mises.org/wire/theres-nothing-natural-about-socialism Of course our American socialist will insists all these other countries "didn't do socialism right" and that they can do it better, bringing their version of a socialist American utopia to everybody. In other words, Venezuela all over again.
