  1. I was at the game tonight, on the sideline, and have personal knowledge concerning the “bad” call on the L-Burg pass that was called out of bounds. Discussed it with the crew after the game. Here’s the skinny: it was, in fact, the wrong call. The receiver did have the ball with a foot in bounds. But ... The right call wouldn’t have helped the Tigers, because the receiver stepped on the sideline while running his route, just before the catch. The correct call should have been a foul on L-Burg for illegal participation. A 15 yd. penalty from the previous spot and replay the down. Make of that what you will.

  2. Yes much better view!! Mind you not at the 2 but still in good shape! I guess my point on the situation is this...don’t get on here after both teams played their guts out and claim the Tigers were the better team in any half. It sucks because Lawrenceburg had a nice team. But don’t ever take credit away from a team who won 22-0!!! Last MIC DROP

  3. I invite all to attend an Irish tailgate next season! All are welcome, oh and we have trash bags to clean up after ourselves, which we do.

  4. I have been involved with Cathedral football for many years as both my sons played against them. Their fans have always been extremely supportive of their team. They should be that's what competitive sports are all about. NP is no different. They are proud of their team and the accomplishments they have achieved over the last several years. This game was ear marked as one of the greatest games in Indiana high school football in 2019. It was a good game and the players on both sides of the ball gave all they had. My question is why can't certain individuals like this Hagarty guy just accept the outcome and move on without having to voice his unfounded and totally false accusations. His comments degrade the quality of a great program at Cathedral and force people to focus on the negative just to quell this individuals stupid comments, See, now I have sunk to his disgusting level. Cathedral, I suggest you focus on taming the tongue of this Hagarty individual so that he isn't the voice that people equate your organization with when your school is mentioned in conversation. You have a good reputation. Don't let the rantings of this individual damage that. It does nothing for the great sport that high school football is and will continue to be.

  5. I wouldn’t call it “hate.” At bottom, it’s grounded in “envy.”

  6. So....this is going to be good. By the way New Pal has one of the premier football atmospheres I 've traveled to. Very friendly laid back group of stadium helpers. (The concessions need help) But the reason I'm posting is to let you all in on the Irish team family of fans. Standing on the visiting team side, I don't like to sit. I was able to, first hand, see how complementary and polite the students and adults where conducting themselves all game long. Impressive also, that they have such a massive group following the team. You don't know what tailgating is until you see this group. They feed and welcome anyone and every one to join them pre game. Food, my god, enough to feed an army. gratin potatoes, fresh fruit, couple of soups, southwest dip and chips, baked beans, dogs, burgers just to mention some of the offerings And thank goodness, inside the New Pal stadium, Chick-fil-a sandwiches, nothing to write home about, for $5, and oh yea,$1 popcorn that comes in a container about the size of a Cracker Jack box. If anyone ever gets a chance to attend a football game that Cathedral plays in do it. Great group.

  9. He was drunk. He must have finally passed out around 4:00 AM this morning....or his minders finally caught him wondering the halls in the dementia wing. The admins deleted about 80% of the inane, profane lunacy he spewed about Lawrenceburg, Columbus East, “Catlicks” and all the “sons a b#tches” (My edit)from East Indiana by around 5:00 AM. While I was sitting in an emergency room, talking with nurses and Docs all day and all night with a elderly parent yesterday until about 9:00 AM this morning, it provided some entertainment. I’m assuming the nurses have him back on his meds at the home - hopefully taking his phone and computer until Christmas.

  11. AC is also in a "rebuilding" year this year. Believe 26 seniors were lost from last years' semi state team. South Adams was the team that was going to state this year and I'm still in disbelief that our Jets beat them. South Adams will be back next year though so watch out again. However, AC will have some good glasses to come in the future. The Jets have a good 6th grade class, some good 7th grade athletes who fight like this team does, and a very talented 8th grade team. The Freshmen have shown some talent and Cook is a speedster. The sophomore class is a big key to this years team (Heyerly & Currie) as are a few Juniors like Collier. Kudos to this senior class from learning from their predecessors and carrying on the AC football tradition. I'd think LCC would be the favorite at home and based on the historical matchups. Much like Pioneer, this is another team we have to get the monkey of our back. In fact we have to get the semi state curse off our back. We had only broke it once in the 2000 state championship season against North White. Like I said in another thread, everyone is ecstatic we get to play another week of football for a shot to go to LOS. Especially in a rebuilding year. GO JETS!!!!

  12. Perhaps a little dose of reality is in order here...certainly WeBo had a great run last season in winning the 2A State Championship and looks to be a really tough out this year as well. However, based on IHSAA records over the past 2 decades 1999 - 2019, WeBo has won just 6 Sectionals & 2 Regionals, including this season's results to date. This hardly qualifies them to be the standard bearer for "football being different up past I-70!". Slow your roll. Last I checked, there are a number teams located well south of I-70 with same # of State Titles and far more success at the Sectional, Regional, & Semi-State levels than WeBo over the same 20 year period, including, Heritage Hills, Southridge, Evv Reitz, Mater Dei & Memorial. "Football may be different past I-70" but there is no evidence it is any more successful, esp at WeBo. Good luck the rest of the tournament, based on what I saw vs HC, you could well hoist your 2nd straight State Title trophy at Thanksgiving.

  14. 😂😂😂 “larry mccockiner” thats Barry’s brother! barry mccockiner is a very famous twitter troll if y’all didn’t know. Routinely criticizes tom Brady for being a system guy or carried by the defense. Also hates on pretty much anyone else. Unfortunately every couple of months someone reports him and he loses his twitter and has to start all over and get 100k+ followers back overnight. was actually banned again yesterday so we will have to see which profile he starts using now. I’m not sure if this larry fella is actually a member of cathedrals community or whatever. But he is 100% troll using that name or completely unlucky

  15. Thanks for coming and being apart of one of the best atmosphere's for high school football I have experienced. Great fans on both sides of the field made it that way. Maybe next year we can get you down here when they sell pork burgers at the concessions.

  17. You have got to feel for Tua. A hip dislocation is not just a season-ender. It’s potentially a career-ender. Even if the imaging does not show a fracture, the concern is that the dislocation compromises the blood supply to the head of the femur. If that happens, the articular cartilage dies and you have a condition called “avascular necrosis.” That’s what ended Bo Jackson’s career. This will absolutely affect his draft status.

  18. I must have missed something. At any rate in my personal opinion success builds hate. I have seen it with Chatard, Cathedral, Ben Davis, Warren Central, Center Grove, Pioneer, Sheridan, F.W Luers, and you start to see it with New Pal since Coach Ralph has taken over. You even see it at the collegiate level ie Alabama. Professional level ie Patriots. Even other sports ie Lakers and Yankees. Every school across the state has their few bad apples (be it parents, fans, students). Don't judge the lump some of a group by the ignorant behavior of a few. I'm sure Mt. Vernon and New Palestine have some knuckleheads among them as well.

  19. off topic of what you are talking about, your son man on man. a STUD to say the least. Kid is fast, hits hard and just knows the game of football. He was dominant on defense, had 1 INT but was a finger tip away from another one in the endzone. But what impressed me even more was his ability to block. To see a secondary defensive player go on the offensive side and make KEY blocks was pretty impressive. The play i remeber the most is him driving Cathedrals OLB to new pal sideland , actually to the track!!!!

  20. Heritage Hills wasn't at full strength either we lost Gavin Vaal in the Gibson Southern game and at the time he was 3rd on the team in Tackles, 3rd in rushing yards, 2nd in kick return yards and 2nd in punt returns... I said going in the biggest difference in these two teams was take away's after tonight the Patriots have a plus 25 Turnover ratio, Lawrenceburg has a -3 . Yes losing the QB was huge and it stinks but when he was in there his numbers weren't exactly Steller 6 of 12 passing for 89 yards and 12 rushes for 28 yards a average of 2.3 yards per carry. Burd was held to 51 yards on 17 carry's a 3.0 average. Great season Lawrenceburg and as far as the Patriots I'm guessing very few teams if any have played 3 straight top 10 teams in the playoffs this season and won all 3...On top of that just like 2000 Heritage Hills will play 1st round of sectional, 2nd round of sectional, regional and semi state all on the road. P.S. Hearing Welcome To The Jingle playing and the huge HH following made it seem like home.i

  25. I thought the majority of us believed carmel was a favorite for our different reasons maybe..nonetheless the favorite..they will be favored against the pirates n rightfully so..battling the lion is the beauty of it..from Rudy to rocky..somebody gotta do it..their playoff record was quoted on air one game I watched..most yrs they win state by beating their mic counterpart which is (cough cough) considered the best conference in the state so even they have a hard time beating them..would one more game help decide this best team in the state debate? After the finals..1a vs 2a..3a vs 4a..5a vs 6a? Heck give em2 rings! 😁

  26. I know I'm just taking the bait, but I totally disagree. Helmet to helmet hits happen during the flow of the play. Some are intentional, but I would say most are not. The NJ hits were not intentional by my judgement. Throwing a punch, or open handed slap, have nothing to do with the flow of a play. There is no place for them. I don't believe that the kid deserves to sit out next week, but I disagree with your assessment about what is more detrimental to the game.

  28. Well, one side of Snider's line averaged 315, while the other side averaged 215. So it depends on which side you are referring too.

  29. Let me clarify that. Preparing as if they will be playing limited or no Offense but will play on Defense. Having said that, I just talked to the same guy who told me that. He knows one of the 2 player’s dad in question and he said that at least one was going to be a go and back to 100%. Take it for what it’s worth but he knows him pretty well Who knows?!! Separate topic, I believe Snider’s O Line would be comparable to Valpo in size.

  30. I can assure you that everyone I talked to from the staff to the kids are very humbled, and by know means are taking anything lightly or are cocky at all. Nothing but good things to hear about East Noble from everyone. I can't wait to watch what could be a great Semi State game between two solid programs trying to relive the echoes.

  31. Yes. 6 rounds of the tournament (so a state + regional or two semistates in a two-year span) would bump them up to 6A. As of now, NP is guaranteed to be in 5A through at least the 2022 season. By then, given the way the New Palestine school district is exploding in population, NP might be 5A by enrollment (neighboring Mt. Vernon will be, too, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Pendleton Heights join them).

  33. I'd kick out Maryland and Rutgers to add Notre Dame and Iowa State. I would then add Pitt and WVU to expand to 16. Bring rivalries back to the sport as that is why it grew in the first place!

  37. It was definitely a Student making dumb tweets. Unfortunately that’s what this day and age brings. Why I spend limited time on social media. If only some knew what they throw out there never goes away. It’s even a problem with current pro athletes ie Antonio Brown

  38. My final thoughts on the game... 1. Hope the Yoon kid (QB) is ok. Hate to see kids get hurt. That said, the kid is for real and much better than I anticipated. Bright future for the next two years! 2. Cool Stadium, cool atmosphere for high school football, cool tailgate area behind the east end zone. 3. Didn't interact with any fans, but the L'burg folks in the box were friendly and passionate about their team and gracious in defeat. 4. No stink. Maybe that's worse when it's hot & humid? Did smell the mash a little on the way out of town. I was starving and it actually kinda smelled good! 5. @BobRef, good to meet you and finally put a face with the name! You told me before the game you thought the crew was a very good crew. And I could not argue. The type of crew you want calling games deep in the post-season. Sure, they missed the one call discussed above that, turns out, likely didn't cost L'burg points. They're human. They'll beat themselves up about it. We can all move on.

  39. You completely missed my point. I am saying nobody is condoning a tweet by an adult that is affiliated with Cathedral. I already stated there are bad apples represented from every school. The few don't speak for the mass. In a positive thread by a non-Cathedral supporter about an experience they had and then another to back up that statement. I tagged you saying perhaps some of the kind generous adults that are Cathedral supporters (PHJIndy being one of those) could invite you to enjoy a free meal at one of their tailgates. You had to proceed with more negativity. That being said nobody knows if the young man "correctly" called out the Irish Tailgaters, or snatched a photo to make it seem that way (judging from his other tweets it could be very likely). Yes kids make dumb comments and so do adults, and adults should definitely know better than to make the dumb comments. I wasn't pointing out that judging by the young mans tweets, the validity of the tweet with the photos and what he calls out goes way down for me. I will also state @CaptainHook was very respectful (while I'm sure in his mind a little incensed) and just gave facts and let the rest take care of itself. Just my opinion.

  40. Thanks, brother. Was starting to think there was going to be a positive post on the GID. Nope. Always someone out there to bring negativity. It’s human nature I suppose. Either way, great night, great football game, wrong result. Good luck to the Dragons the rest of the way.

  42. Thank you. He takes great pride is his blocking. I told him this week it was slipping a bit as the season went on. He was pissed. After the game, he looked me in the eye and said, "how was my blocking tonight?" And it was probably the best game of blocking he's ever had. He had at least 5 key blocks on Spegal's big runs. I was very proud of his efforts.

  45. CE has given New Pal 2 of there 4 loses, it would have been 3 but CE blew a 14 point lead in 2014 in the 4th quarter and New PAL hung like 80 on whoever repped the north. East 2 loses to New Pal have been by a combined 12 points. New Pal’s 4 loses are 2 to East, 1 to Snider, 1 to Zionsville. It’s incredible.
