  1. Does Coach_MarkBrown understand he is to pick the winner?

  2. Just wanted to point out that Brady Allen is 222 yards away from a big milestone of 10,000 career yards this Friday. Would be 1 of 7 people to achieve that in Indiana and would join Michael Lindauer to be a 10k passer just thought I would point it out as I know it’s week 9 and people really don’t care about this week as much since we are all looking ahead to sectionals.

  3. Culver @ LaVille- Lancers- Lancer offense will need to eek out some points on the few possessions they get on the night. Culver doesn't do anything special, but they run their 6 play offense pretty well. Any body have any insight as to why they run the world's most boring offense? Knox @ Caston- The Knox High School Football Team- Caston is flat out bad. North Judson @ Pioneer- Panthers- Conference matchup of the week. I was pretty impressed with Judson after watching the LaVille game from last week. They are very physical up front and their backs run hard. Weather could be a factor this week that might limit their passing attack and make the mesh points tricky on their triple. If Pioneer can take care of the ball on offense, I like their chances. No matter who comes out on top I don't see it by more than 10 points. Triton @ Winamac- Winamac- Triton has the pieces to win this game but I think they're a year or 2 out. Unsure how good Winamac truly is as this point.

  4. I realize it is easier to focus on the negative comments but I'm looking forward to playing on grass. If it rains during the game I'll wish I was 18 again so I could play in it. Should be fun. And I'm not sure how Cathedral does it but CG parents don't wash the uniforms. 😉

  6. Arguably... what else are we supposed to argue about? 😄 First let's get through Boonville this week, (arguably) the toughest PAC opponent on paper (#2 in points scored and #2 in points allowed in the big PAC (113 and 40 respectively in 4 games, only behind GS). I think their 2-2 conference record is deceiving. They may not have the horses of 2020, but they shouldn't be overlooked. You give a team like the Pioneers a brush off in a week of practice and you may get a bloody lip come Friday night.

  7. Ok, I'll bite. 1v2 is not arguable. At best, 1v3. Arguably... 1v4. Exactly. There is a reason this is true, and not because HH is historically a thorn in GS's sectional side. It's because they are better that MV in 2021. Week one was a fluke. MV won, not taking that away from them. But plus five TO margin (memory there, could be different) and you win by one score? C'mon. HH silver plattered that one to MV, and then some. HH>MV 8 of 10 games. SR>MV 7 of 10. Anyone that says sectional 32 championship is being played in the bottom bracket of round one is either misinformed, ignorant of PAC football, or from Posey County.

  8. https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/criminalizing-federalizing-dissent-justice-department-school-boards/ I watched the local ABC report, and it is entirely possible that some of these white parents behaved badly without excuse. But it completely ignores the foul-mouthed provocations of the black Democratic official. You’d get the idea from the ABC report that the problem was entirely one caused by hotheaded white people. There is no indication that a black Democratic party official stood and screamed curses at the white parents. Hey, they might even be “domestic terrorists”! Joe Biden’s Justice Department is on the case. Violence — real or threatened — in school board meetings is unacceptable. But here’s the thing: why federalize this? Why isn’t local law enforcement capable of handling these cases? Why involve the Justice Department? One wonders if the Left is not trying to deploy the same strategy the FBI used against the KKK during the Civil Rights era against parents today who dissent from CRT and/or gender ideology taught to their kids, and vaccine policies. How many parents will be willing to show up at all at school board meetings to object if they fear that in so doing, they will become ensnared with the FBI? Perhaps this is the point. You bet that is the point. Keep the dissenters away so the "new normal" can be established and maintained.

  9. I really wish that years ago, that Lahmeyer Rd. site (project) would have been better explained to the neighborhood, and moved forward. A "sunken field" with (by now Field Turf) of their own, would have been a wonderful thing. Lights barely above the horizon.... The only upside to the 2021 Playoff draw, is that one school (Northrop or Snider) gets exclusive use of Spuller Stadium after Round One.

  11. Chatard usually streams all home games on their YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJXyOqDVcWW-3V1uWn5YZqw I would guess they would do the BHSS game as well but I'm not positive. It's produced by the students, so the quality of the commentating and video is usually pretty suspect, but you'd at least be able to see the game. Safe travels if you do make the trip! And feel free to stop by the Trojan tailgate to say hello!

  13. For regionals, when both teams have were host in the sectional championship game, or both visitor, they go to a tie-breaker, higher or lower number sectional winner, ie sectional 31 is higher than sectional 32. That tie-breaker is reversed for the semi-state. For this example, think of each class as having sectionals 1 through 8. If the tie-breakers are higher # in regional and lower # in semi-state, sectional 1 (the northern most sectional) can only ever be the highest sectional. Sectional 8 (the southern most sectional) can only ever be the lowest sectional and has only one shot to win a tie-breaker each year. Sectionals 2 through 7 can theoretically win bot the highest and lowest tiebreakers in a given season, depending on how it all breaks out. I admit, on the face, it seems like a very small thing. I'm not an expert and can't tell you how statistically significant it is, because you'd have to figure out a way to determine how often those tie-breakers are used and how much more likely those middle sectional winners are to get that advantage. I do know it's not the reason HH has had two different trips to the state finals where they only got to play one post-season game at home. That is a direct result of the rule that states if a team plays both the sectional championship and regional on the road, they automatically host the semi-state. Both years, HH played only their sectional championship game at home through the regional round, while their opponent played their first two sectional games at home but played both sectional championship and regional on the road. That rule should be changed to use total number of post-season games hosted because, with a blind sectional draw, no one sectional game should hold any more weight than another. Your toughest game could very well be your sectional opener, or your sectional semi-final.

  14. Nothing wrong with grass ... or at least a well-maintained grass field. As a player and coach I loved playing on grass although I will admit from an administrator and maintenance standpoint, turf does have benefits of avoiding late-night painting sessions and the AD calling the youth program director and telling them "No games this weekend as we play at home first round of tourney next week and it's raining."

  16. Doesn't matter if he's in or out of the pocket in regards to intentional grounding in high school rules. What was the previous spot? Where did they next spot the ball? If the foul was in the end zone the result is going to be safety whether the defense accepts or declines the penalty. They either enforced it from the wrong spot or felt he released the ball outside the end zone.

  17. Really going out on the limb there with those 2A North private schools with 5A talent. No private schools should be playing in 1A or 2A.

  18. Happened in 2000 state title year also. Out of 6 post-season games, only the sectional championship game was at home both times. It's likely also happened to other teams from the far south or far north in the past. It's because the rules in determining home team give an unintended slight statistical advantage to the teams in the middle of the state. Chances are, those rules aren't changing any time soon, so we all might as well be ready to travel and be ready to play in any weather and any field conditions!

  19. I honestly think the outcome of this game will have a significant impact on the career trajectory of Matt Nagy. I believe Nagy has one, and only one, way to save his job in Chicago. He’s got to become Justin Fields’ “Quarterback Whisperer.” And then he’s got to hope Fields shows steady growth from here on out. That, more than wins and losses, will determine his fate.

  20. Me too, the guy has promoted high school coaches, sports, and media like no one else in indiana. And for godsakes he’s not in it for the money. As far as I’m concerned, he can continue for as long he has the health to do it.

  27. Memorial at Castle will be a good one. It will be the first time Memorial has played on real grass this year and the weather forecast is calling for rain throughout the day and evening. Memorial's D has been pretty stout since Wk. 2, but Castle will be the toughest test since Jasper IMO. Castle seems to have had trouble getting a run game going recently, but their QB is solid. I don't see Reitz giving MD much trouble. North has been playing well and should easily take care of Central. Jasper will roll Lincoln. Who knows what could happen in the Harrison/Bosse game.

  29. I am bumping this from the beginning of the season. I hope everyone on the GID is rooting for the Tigers this Friday night against Concord for the NLC conference championship 😄 If Warsaw wins, I will add another $30 donation! Go Tigers! ALSO - this is a callout to those who have not made a donation yet this year. I implore you to make a donation of any amount you can afford! Without all of our support, the GID cannot make it. Join the team and support!

  30. I am jesting. I am confident that they are, thus the accompanying video. With the discipline and mental toughness that GS has right now, I'm pretty sure they would play well in a hurricane. No, I don't think it is possible. If it all goes as it appears, HH will be at GS.

  31. They are commonly allowed because they are commonly done. They shouldn't surprise anyone. The team that does a sudden snap down only on 3rd and 3 or 4th and 2 or on a try is done specifically to get the defense to jump. If you want to do the sudden snap down on every down then it's less likely to draw attention on 4th and 4.

  32. Is it smart? Cathedral wouldn't play their games at Arlington if they thought the playing surface was unsafe, it is as simple as that. Outside one game in this series, these games have been rock fights the last 6 meetings with the final score being one possession games. No coach or team is getting conservative here, they certainly didn't last year. I think both teams are so head and shoulders better than their competition in their respective classes that an injury or two doesn't affect much.

  33. Hypocrisy by whom? Gruden quit, he wasn't fired.

  34. Cathedral will be playing this game like its their national championship regardless if the game was played on turf, grass, or concrete. Not sure Center Grove's status, don't really care. The facility this game is being played at is garnishing more attention than the game itself which is sad. You have Center Grove fans on Twitter complaining about safety due to the surrounding neighborhoods. Do Center Grove fans not realize they literally play across the street at Lawrence Central every other year?

  36. Last night's loss was the worst loss in the 37 year history of the Indianapolis Colts. Frank needs to put away the "prevent" defense when his team gets a "comfortable" lead and he needs to find a new kicker. Going for a two point conversion when up 22-3 was wrong. The two missed extra points and the missed field goal was the difference in the game. Frank's a nice man and a decent X&O coach, but he doesn't know how to win when having a lead. This wasn't the first time this has happened.

  37. Actually, I would argue that you are the thorn in the side! ☺️ We feel really fortunate as we have not got a draw like this in years! Never happens. HOWEVER, I will say it again as you have already pointed out--we are the better team over MV. I wanted them in the 1st round. 5 TOs and they win by 8? As you said we win this game 8 out of 10 times. By the way, I want the sectional final in the Jungle, 33 degrees, with a torrential downpour--this is my best case scenario. So you are saying there is a chance....

  39. The initial e-mail made fun of DeMaurice Smith. Head of the NFLPA. In other words, a black man who represents a lot of other black men, some of whom are now supposed to play hard for Gruden. As soon as the first e-mail came out, you knew how this was going to end.

  40. While I am not a fan of the halftime performers either, Gruden’s problem was that he was referring to specific people; not just once either. And his attacks were toward people connected to the NFL. If most of us attacked our employer like that, we would be out of jobs as well. Let’s keep in mind that part of what Gruden was doing that lead to this moment was part of the ongoing investigation involving his brother and the front office with Washington. It seems to have been quiet for a couple years, but building up steam now. From what I recall, some pretty nasty stuff about sexual harassment of females who worked for the team and the front office there.

  41. Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Gruden gets fired the same season the NFL hired Dre, Snoop, and Eminem among others to play the Super Bowl half time show? Too funny. Grudens emails were love letters compared to the lyrical work of those 3.
