Triton wore those against Caston. When my son wore his to school, he wore my Combat Infantry Badge on it. I thought it was pretty awesome that the Guard does this for the kids.5 points

reminds me a bit of Kitt O'brien when he used to pull and kick. Dude was a Truck. Ironically Uncle Kelly is on the WL staff.3 points

The only bad thing in the NV PH game was when 33 from PH was penalized for a helmet to helmet hit and he celebrated. Then his teammates and the fans on PH side cheered him on. He should have been ejected. Otherwise it was quite the chess match between coaches and an excellent game between two great teams.2 points

At the end the other coach is quoted as saying that he didn't have a problem with what happened. Sounds like a personal beef between the coach and admin to me.2 points

I’m sure he appreciates your concern. For what it’s worth- it’s his non-throwing shoulder so you don’t have to be too worried about his baseball future as you seem to be. Awfully nice of you tho. Kid is the ultimate competitor - he’ll be just fine.2 points

Tonight, in two different games, both teams will have endzone cameras. North Knox and Linton both use them, as do Parke Heritage and North Vermillion. In the instance where both teams have endzone cameras, the proper protocol is to allow the home team to set up their camera first, and then the visiting team will set up their camera in the opposite endzone. Does anyone have any examples of games where the visiting team set up their endzone camera first? Or where both teams chose to use the same endzone?1 point

The Irish are not worrying about New Pal now, they have Brebeuf Jesuit and Center Grove to worry about first. Oh and then there's the sectionals.1 point

Actually Streif was coaching in 2007 - St. Matthew’s 4th Grade CYO team.1 point

I whole heartedly agree.. 2 outstanding programs. Cathedral is back to that championship level, and New Pal has been there for a few years. Would be a treat to watch these 2 play.1 point

North Vermillion’s win tonight over the juggernaut Wolfs should put to rest any speculation of whether the Wolfs would beat the Linton Miners in a hypothetical game that won’t take place.1 point

Crabtree 6 Moore 0. He has lost 47 games in 22 years as a coach, and 6 have been to NV. Unreal. In all seriousness, I'm sure PH hopes they get another crack in the sectional. Sounds as though they had their opportunities.1 point

Both of Trinity's losses were on grass fields, at least that's what I was told tonight. The Arlington field held up well again. It looks like there will be more high school games there in the future.1 point

Irish 28, Louisville Trinity 7! It was a classic win for the Irish. Trinity was #6 in the USA Today Midwest rankings.1 point

Cass - 14 West Lafayette - 41 Half West Lafayette has so many weapons on offense. Very scary team.1 point

North Vermillion already scored 21 in less than one half? I had heard that Parke Heritage was doing good this year so that is unexpected. That is 1 more point than North Vermillion scored in the whole game against Linton.1 point

Actually North Central was starting to turn things up while Coach Streiff was there. His first season they went 3-8 and 2nd season 5-7. He then went 6-4 and 7-4. They were gradually getting better. When he left stepped away as Head Coach after 2006 for family reasons NC went 9-4 first year under Coach Haste. Coach Streiff did not Coach in 2007, but did become the Head Coach in 2008 at Cathedral after Coach O'Hara retired.1 point

I have seen that before, including in my playing days! I know that Linton has adults running both the endzone and sideline cams to get the best footage possible. Now here's to hoping they can get the south window open so the visiting team can get better quality!1 point

BTW, congrats to him on the verbal commitment to play baseball at the University of Evansville! I love it when top southern Indiana talent stays close to home!1 point

I think Ohio State has looked unbelievably impressive and I've heard multiple analysts say Fields is the best NFL prospect of college QB's. But, similiar to Alabama, they haven't really played anyone great. Still, credit is due to absolutely annihilating the competition, especially in Lincoln on a Saturday night.1 point

Concord +4 - they might even win the game outright - 8 schmeckles Northridge -20.5 - this one feels a little risky, but counting on at least 4 Northridge TDs and only 1 Goshen TD - 3 schmeckles Memorial +22.5 - home dog by more than 3 TDs?! I'll take Memorial - 10 schmeckles Wawasee +41.5 - basing this on the fact that Warsaw has only won 1 game by more than 42 points. The ground and pound offense milks the clock, and once the Tigers go up by 35, that running clock will come into play. - 5 schmeckles (I hope everyone enjoyed my Rick & Morty reference lol)1 point

Slick John reporting for duty on the first weekend in October, and an exciting first week it is. Mobile sports betting opened yesterday in the state of Indiana, so I once again might as well contribute, as best I can, to the degeneration of our society and bank accounts. Concord @ Plymouth (-4)- In a battle of the shortest coaches in the confernce, this could be a high scoring game, if both offenses get going. However, I think that Plymouth will have to drive the ball longer and not rely so much on big plays. That being said, John Barron is a River Boat Gambler, and will fake punts, run trick plays and go for it on fourth down from his own 27. I think Plymouth will have to convert some of those types of plays to be victorious tonight. Concord's offense can throw the ball pretty well too, and if they can extend some drives and keep Plymouth off the field longer than they are used to, it could be the difference in the game. The winner of this game is obviously in the driver's seat the rest of the way, but far from having clinched an out-right title. Goshen @ Northridge (-20.5)- Low scoring affair in Middlebury. Goshen did, however, reach double digits last week....so there's that. NorthWood (-22.5) @ Memorial- The Panthers are facing a potential let-down game with Warsaw and Plymouth on the docket in the next two weeks. This could allow Elkhart Memorial to stay close! Psh- who are we kidding? Nate Andrews doesn't take weeks off!!! Wawasee @ Warsaw (-41.5)- What is the definition of insanity? A loyal Wawasee football fan. Bonus Odds! Odds to win at least share of NLC Varsity Football Championship 2019 Plymouth (4-0) (8:5)- Being at home this week is an advantage, but they have lost 3 of 4 to Concord. Still have Goshen and NorthWood on the schedule. Concord (4-0) (2:1)- Concord hasn't seen a passing attack like Plymouth's yet this season. Still has Northridge and Warsaw on the schedule. NorthWood (3-1)(3:1)- Cheering for Plymouth this week. Matchups with Warsaw and Plymouth coming up in the next two weeks. Scores have been a little more impressive than Warsaw's in recent weeks. Warsaw (3-1)(4:1)- Cheering for Concord this week. NorthWood and Concord remain. . Northridge (1-3)(OFF)- Mathematically eliminated. Will have to play well and get a decent sectional draw to finish with a winning record. Memorial (1-3)(OFF)- Mathematically eliminated. The Eastern Equine Encephalitis got the best of these Crimson Chargers. As for the ailment that Elkhart Memorial suffers from; there may not be a vaccine for that, either. Wawasee/Goshen (0-4) (OFF)- It's over, Johnny.1 point

Most of the kids way down the depth chart participate in other activities too, such as the Carmel MB. They don't care about playing time because they've got other opportunities. My son is involved in so many other extra-curriculars that he is just excited to stand on a sideline with a full home crowd. It's his choice to play and participate. I've always told him it's his choice, but if he makes a commitment, he sticks with it until the end and gives it his best.1 point

I agree teams need to come prepared to play. I do think part of the high school gig involves teaching the kids good sportsmanship though. I’m not familiar with the situation Warrior is referring to with Pioneer football, but do know their baseball coach put up over 50 runs vs West Central a few years back. From what I heard, the AD did the right thing in that instance and it didn’t end well for the coach1 point
