  1. Wait . . . geography over religious affiliation? Come on, we need to at least try to keep up the pretense of the P/P cartel as the shadow authority over Indiana HS football. What if they start to think that we don't actually have a statewide conspiracy to direct the best players to our schools? Where will our psychological advantage go? Soon, they will start to realize that recruiting isn't an excuse and then where we be? Please edit your post to say, "You have no chance against the Catholic school hegemony of which EM is a key component. We will be rooting for our Catholic brethren while eating fish and chips because we are required to do so by the papal hierarchy." 😉

  3. Get over last years game. Western Boone won in what was a fantastic game. Let’s make this about the young men playing tomorrow, they deserve that much respect. I look forward to a great game tomorrow. As for coach Nowlin, I had the privilege of talking with him at length before last weeks game. Only positives and respect for Eastbrook from him. Quality guy!

  6. Man is Valpo’s front 7 on D tough as nails. I was excited to see if they could hang with New Pal’s O-Line and they definitely backed up their hype. Fighting to the end and only coming up short by 7 to New Pal is one helluva way for Valpo to go out. Does New Pal drink goats urine (Beerfest reference) when they’re backed into a corner? They have an uncanny ability to take back momentum and blow a game open with big plays when the opponent is threatening. Spegal’s long TD run at the end of the 2nd quarter against Decatur Central in last years Finals comes to mind. They had multiple big plays in a short sequence to break open their game against Cathedral in the 2nd half. Tonight, Like Nowlin mentioned, Ralph went to the one running play that worked in the first half and Spegal took it to the house. After Valpo’s D held NP to a FG, NP breaks their back with another big play on the pick 6. That Hook kid from New Pal is a phenomenal DB. Great instincts against the pass and he can step up lay a hit on a ball carrier. He could turn into a beast at Toledo.

  7. No problem for heritage Hills fans or former players who fault Chatard for throwing the ball up by three TDs. As someone who played against Chatard teams far better than this iteration, there are no hard feelings. The Trojans deserved it. The Patriots will be back and beat Chatard by multiple TDs. We won't cry or make excuses. Just get better.. Non HH players and alumni need to shut up because you couldn't make it through a single HH practice. Congrats to Chatard.

  11. Kolkman and Garrett are doing something right at Dwenger. Their defense sold me last year at state when the held Evansville Central to 0 pts through 4 quarters. That teams was averaging over 40 a game. It carried over into this season. Great coaching, plain and simple.

  12. Outside of the Indy mega schools at the 6a level, there's not much separation in the quality of football between Central Indiana and the North. Congrats to New Pal. Those kids fight hard and make plays.

  14. 2 clear New Pal interceptions called catches for Valpo on the opening 3rd quarter drive, fortunately it doesn't matter after a missed FG

  15. No complaints. As a Patriot, if you can't stop it you deserve whatever the opposing team serves. It was a loss, we'll move on and be better. No crying or excuses. Weight room next week.

  16. It was a wise call. No complaints from HH. Great play calling.

  17. Great game. Congrats to LCC and gutsy call by LCC head coach on 2 pt. conversion. Lutheran coach going to regret his play calls on 2nd and 3rd down prior to the missed FG. Two incomplete passes, stops clock. Run the ball twice, get a few yards closer, possible 1st down, keep clock moving. Get #8 back in the game.

  18. if we are scoring at home on thing he was wrong about, add that this guy has some sort of "Axe to grind" against Eastbrook. If you listened to the Semi State game on demand, you can see for yourself the wonderful things I had to say about Eastbrook, their coaches, program and community. Though, I guess its a badge of honor that @2Cents4myOpinion led his rant off with me...... so I got that going for me!! 🤣 Thank You Sir!! Pleasure to also enjoy the early sights and sounds that Semi State provided. If I had any disdain for Eastbrook I would not of drove 3 hours to "work" a game hosted by Eastbrook. Just saying.....

  19. Dumbest post of the year. I didn’t even read it all. I read “instituted instant replay” which is wrong... Also, Eastbrook was never up 14-0. good day.

  22. Uh huh. Except one of these 3A teams has been beating up on Bloomington South, Southport, and others while the other has been beating up on Tell City and South Spencer. If you think Chatard is just another typical 3A football team, you've got a rude awakening coming. I hope the entire HH team believes that. Adding my 2 cents, here. I think it's cute how the southern guys think they hit harder. I think it's cute how the southern boys (who are ranked nationally 500+ spots below Chatard) think even a single team on their schedule would have scored more than once against Chatard's "1's." Know how many teams have done that all season against Chatard? One. Cathedral. Chatard didn't play South Spencer or Corydon (which isn't the capital anymore, fellas) or Forest Park or Tell City or North Posey. No. Chatard played 5A semi state team Bloomington South and beat them 42-7 with a running clock the entire 2nd half. Chatard played a ranked 4A team in Northwood and was up at one time 48-7. Chatard played 6A Southport and won 36-9. Chatard traveled 2 hours and 30 minutes to Normal, IL to play a ranked team that ended up 7-3 in one of Illinois' top conferences outside Chicago, and won on their field 56-8. There were 3 other top 10 ranked teams in Chatard's sectional. And Chatard won those games (against those teams during the season) by a combined 175-46 this season. Chatard played the #2 defense in the state last week....which was allowing 6.5 PPG and beat them 45-0. Chatard does not have and does not need players who play both ways. Chatard's QB has thrown for 31 TD's and has 4 INT's. Chatard's #1 tailback has 32 touchdowns on the season. Chatard's #2 tailback has 11. Y'all can think what you want about playing both ways not being a problem. I'm sure it's not against Tell City. How many of their linemen are going to Tulane to play college football? How many of THEM can squat 600 pounds or bench 375? How many Patriots were throwing passes in the snow, jumping the stadium fence at 6:00AM? How many Patriots went to lift every morning at 5:30 for a year because of what happened a year ago? I think it's cute how the southern guys think Chatard recruits players. Heritage Hills struggled to beat a Danville team that lost to North Montgomery. Chatard played North Montgomery in the 2nd game of our sectional. The score, with 3 minutes gone in the 2nd quarter....was 35-0. That game could have been 84-0 if Chatard wanted it to be, and HH struggled to beat a team that LOST to North Mont. I know, I know. Any given day. But that day ain't gonna' be Friday.

  28. The 1A/2A schools most likely never have this issue as they could have 20 kids hurt and still be able to dress them on State Finals day. You recommend adding a 7th class to give more opportunities for rings, yet have no sympathy that a kid who rightfully busted his tail to get there in 6A may have to watch the game from the stands.

  29. Of all the crazy things DT proposes, he did get this one right. You need to study your history. From the MIC Conference's own website: MIC History The MIC Conference was originally started as a “football conference.” As Carmel, Warren Central, Ben Davis and North Central grew in size and in football stature, it was more and more difficult to find opponents in that sport, without traveling around the Hoosier state or across the borders. The “Super Conference” as it was originally nicknamed, sent out invites to schools throughout Indiana, with hopes that four more schools would join.

  30. 6 classes are enough. I know I’ve said this before, but I have seen no compelling argument to make a change. I think the “get better” approach is the way to do things. Everybody should not get a trophy, the ones that work the hardest should.

  35. For teams that haven't been there for awhile, the experience is to familiarize teenage boys to the venue where they are going to play the biggest game of their lives. It's also a bonding experience and one you'll never forget. Also helps the coaches and equipment staff plan for logistics. A valuable and worthwhile experience in my opinion.

  36. It makes it better. A school that ranks 17-32 winning the state championship is a once in a decade occurrence. And we all know that enrollment is, by far, the main reason. Are you generalizing? Or are you referring to my team being Snider? I've always been an advocate of Snider staying up in the biggest class. Bumping them down just weakens the north overall. I've spent years watching Snider rumble with Penn, Carmel, and a few others in the MIC. The win in 1992 was special. Now, some might contend that Snider's not the same as it was in the 80's and 90's with many white collar families moving to Carroll and Homestead districts. And the fact they've lost about 400 in enrollment over the last couple of decades. I get that and those claims are valid. I still prefer for them to play up. Overall, leaving the team that I follow out of it, I think a 16/16 split is the right thing to do.

  38. I have had questions after the news coverage and the previous announcement of Coach Bowsman's passing. I hope this clarifies. Thank you all for your outpouring of support. An Honor Walk is for people that have chosen to do a total organ transplant. In most cases the family is there and medical staff at the hospital step outside to honor the donor. The family can invite others and Beth chose to include our community and team. The hallway is lined and the donor is walked through the crowd to have their organs harvested. Coach Bowsman was deemed medically deceased on Monday 1:19 PM. His body was maintained and yesterday they harvested his organs. 2 of his organs are already been matched to individuals for life saving organ transplants and can potentially save up to 8.

  39. But currently they are 6A Division 1 enrollment. If they did bump down, maybe they do dominate for 2 years. Then they bump back up. Class 6a is a joke in it's current state. An enrollment range of 1900-5000! How can anyone not see the problem here? I know it's fun to thump your chest and claim "were the best." But do it in your own weight class.

  42. Class 6a is broken and needs to be fixed. We can all agree on that. If there is anyone who doesn't believe that, then you need to have your head examined........fact. Is there a better idea? If there is, bring it to the table. Splitting 6a into two divisions is the only way to go. If the IHSAA is satisfied with a school of 5000 playing a school of 2000 for the state championship, then shame on them. It can be done. No one likes the idea because it came from DT.

  43. Just make a rule that any school whose enrollments is over 5,000 students is not eligible for team titles. (Carmel's enrollment is 5,413)
