  1. Correct. The Mercy Rule is not in effect for the State Finals. But I seem to recall one game that was 50-0 at halftime.

  2. LCC wins this one by 10+. LaVille is not that good. They are not playing on that “mosh pit” they call a field. QB is a good athlete but will make mistakes throwing the ball. LaVille secondary weak especially one of their corners. Metzger will have a field day.

  3. Just offering friendly advice to the good people from North Decatur. Forgot to add: If you do get your car towed for a broken taillight, remember to pay the impound fee in cash (small bills) to make it easier for the lot owner to split the fee with the officer who wrote the ticket.

  5. This sectional/regional alignment does not make sense to me. Why have, if it works out this way, Heritage Hills meet Gibson Southern in Semi-State? They could flip Sectional 30 and 31 and it would make more sense, in my opinion at least.

  9. Since you want to enlighten me, I will enlighten you. Before doing so the one and only reason I even threw a predictor up is because you were hung up on "transitive property" which didn't even work in your example. You seem to be really hung up on points. To me points me jack squat just like ranking and even computer projections. The reason transitive property did not work how you wanted: If Italy beat Sweden and Sweden beat France, so by, the transitive property Italy beat France. Now lets apply that here If Fishers beat Homestead and Homestead beat F.W. Snider so by the transitive property Fishers beat F.W. Snider (that would be transitive property even though that is not why I said that). However on your other example transitive property does not work: F.W. Snider beat Warren Central and Ben Davis beat Warren Central (they did not lose) then? Now that I have got that out of the way. Onto "points", which don't mean anything to me. A win is a win be it by 1, 3, or 45 and a loss is a loss be it 1, 3, or 45. There are so much variables in a game it really doesn't matter. A teams Offense and Defense can play outstanding and a Kick Off Return can change the game (just one example). When it comes to Calpreps they are not using points to predict an actual score in their model, the points gap determines percentages. If you were to blindly pick a team with the better record or the home team in case of equal records you would have a 69% chance of guessing correctly. Calpreps is hitting at about 85% in Indiana predicting 100% of the games played that still leaves 15% of being incorrect but is better than 50%. You seem to have been hanging your hat on the F.W. Snider win over Warren Central in week 1. Fact remains Warren Central was 3-6 beating North Central and Pike (which were a given) and the only quality win was against Lawrence Central (who was 4-5). The only reason Warren Central is still alive (now 5-6) in the tournament is because they are in the worst Sectional in 6A with Tech 0-10 (dead last in 6A), Southport 2-9 (30 out of 32 in 6A), and Perry Meridian 2-8 (25 out if 32 in 6A). I don't use Warren Central as a gauge when talking Fishers and F.W. Snider. I would place Snider between 15-20 (Sagarin has them at 20 and Calpreps 26), I would have Fishers at about 12-15 (Sagarin has them at 11 and Calpreps has them at 11). Even though Fishers is out I still have them above Snider their losses were to HSE 2 times (their natural rival whom is really good has a legit shot at 6A North), Westfield (whom also is really good with a legit shot at 6A North), and Brownsburg (who was the top team in 6A until their meltdown in the last 8 minutes of the 4th qtr against Ben Davis).

  12. They are going to pull out all of the tricks at their disposal. Every time Snider plays Mishawaka they are in a dog fight. That team plays hard and their offensive style is not something Snider sees often. Mishawaka has never been able to hold down the Snider offense though and I don’t see them stopping it this time either

  13. So, what is worst? Holding on to the video on the chance you’d see Northridge in the playoffs … and then using it to knock their QB out of the game. Having advance scouts video future opponents’ sideline signals. Having private investigators accumulate evidence — some of it arguably obtained illegally — and then turning it into the NCAA to get your rival sanctioned for cheating. Who knew that football could create such moral dilemmas?

  16. I tried to be impartial when I first started broadcasting. People asked why, since I obviously follow Sheridan Athletics. However, if I am blessed enough to broadcast a Semi-state matchup of Sheridan and Lutheran, I will make every effort to be as impartial as possible. I respect the teams and players.

  18. The only reason why this convo is currently happening is because the NIC decided to go to a 7 game conference schedule. Which means Penn will have to decide between dropping 1 of the following three teams....Valpo, Mishawaka or Carmel...I bet it is Mishawaka. How about Penn drops Riley and Washington and we call it even...The problem with that scenario is the current staff holds a lot of value in winning conference championships. Which leads us (Penn faithful) to believe that we are stuck, playing a bad schedule and not getting to see what we really have as a team.

  19. Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2..3... It's been a few years since Cutler High has been this deep! Coming to Bulldog land from way down South Coffin K9 will be more than happy to let you tailgate with him while slamming Bulldog BL's down! Not so fast my Coffin K9 friend, Cutler High will have some players who will put the Bulldogs in their pin. Casketnation better grind and dine, cause empty trips and getting shut out in the second half will have them way behind! Stink will be cheering for the EIAC Dogs to win, but he also won't be surprised if Cutler High walks out with a win! Tiger & Bulldog BL's FOREVER - Kentucky Bourbon NEVER!!!

  27. Back about a decade ago, Churubusco had a OGuard who probably weighed 140/150 lbs. Did a PHENOMENAL job up front against players twice his weight. Most impressive. Don't know if he was a wrestler or not, but still remember his performance to this day.

  28. They have 76 players on their roster if Maxpreps is correct. How could they possibly be out-manned?

  29. I did not see Central this year. But the 8th grade class has some studs in it. They will mesh nicely with the frosh group. And East had the QB whisperer working for them this year. If he sticks around who knows.

  30. Visitor side stands have plenty of room for most teams. Plenty of room along the fence to stand as well. It is a very nice fairly new field and locker rooms. Plenty of great places to eat before the game as well.

  31. what is the visitor stand situation at Batesville? It looks like a worse situation than Scottsburg, which I didn't think could be possible.

  33. EC has played the conference schedule they’re required to play no? Their non-conference schedule included Harrison (OH) Moeller, and Roncalli. Post season they’ve played who the ping pong balls said. I fail to see the point of this post.

  37. Not really. Most people understand and agree with me on this platform. Enrollment can’t and won’t work….and hasn’t in any state in the union. Anyone who doesn’t breathe through their mouth understands it. To defend it is just soft.

  38. As long as Northwood doesn't have pictures of NP players they will be fine.

  39. After the game I tried to ask the question about the players who didn't play and I got it removed. If the story is true than Northwood withheld the video until they could use it. If the person involved cared about kids it would've been given after they had first seen it. Even with these antics Ridge had a chance to win. Northwood has abused the transfer "portal" rule and fielded the best team that the "rules" allowed. But the part about this that chaps my rear is the finger sniffing first down pose. Act like you have been there before. The spike of the TD by the QB that cost his team 15 yards. I applaud the Northridge admin for taking care of this promptly and following their code of conduct. Would Northwood of actedo n the video on Thursday before the game or wait until after the game to investigate it?

  40. Interesting note, ec loves beating up teams with half their enrollment!! In this case more than half!! Just ask most of their conference teams. Looks to me like memorial gets their turn to get a Bully beatdown on friday!! But if they pull it off and beat ec, then that would be real impressive!! Good luck!

As someone whom went through the NorthWood program...raised a child through the NorthWood program and is now a fan of the NorthWood program...I have never seen a comment such as BDOOM's from a NorthWood supporter...or really from anyone in the last 24ish years on the GID. Don't throw all of us in the basket with that fella.

  46. Delta looks like they go single back with a mix of formations. Multiple tight end sets. A wing at times. They will spread it out and go out of the gun as well. Coming out of arguably top to bottom worst sectional of 3A I'd say. A lot of people had heritage probably winning this sectional. Sounds bad being the regional, but this will probably be the easiest of the four games Chatard will have played so far this playoffs. 3A North*

  48. Well this thread turned quite quickly....everyone on the GID knows that kids will be kids. I can guarantee every team in the State of Indiana...and the country...has kids that do things they probably shouldn't. In the age of social media...its just seen in the public eye. I don't know anyone personally on this thread, but I can speculate each one of you played football or some other sport in your youth. And I can almost gaurantee each one of you did something in high school that would be looked down on in the sporting world. We can all agree that Friday's game was a good one. Someday maybe NorthWood and Northridge will face one another will all of their players available. Hats off to a great season for Northridge and they...like NorthWood did last year...can use this as a learning experiance for their younger guys. Thoughts on the game: NorthWood needs to get their emotions under control. They need to just play football and leave the "stuff" on the sidelines. I was suprised at how well they ran the ball against a good Northridge defense. That is an aspect of the game they needed to improve on. I was also suprised on Northridge's use...or lack there of...of their timeouts on the last drive. It will be interesting to see how NW will handle New Prairie's offense. Turnovers killed Northridge in the first half. Had they had better ball control, i feel like they would have won this game. The young quarterback needs to learn from this game and I think he will be fine going forward as their starter next year with a great running back returning as well. Again...all and all...a good season for Northridge. Congrats to NW for a hard fought win and the sectional "monkey" off of their back. It should make for a great game next week against New Prairie. Side note: Northridge...bravo on your uniforms...probably my favorite of all the NLC teams. Mishawaka played an interesting game against Concord. I didn't see the game however was told that the sickness bug is running through the entire program. I hope they get better as they have a tough task next week against a great Snider team. Hopefully playing at home will give them an edge. Concord.... Maybe a bit of a disappointed season, however I think they will be in the thick of things next year in the NLC race. OFF to the regionals!!!
