I witnessed just the opposite tonight at LaVille. Pioneer is just a machine! Totally disciplined, they know exactly what their doing every play, so they play so fast it is amazing to watch. I like watching this team better than any of the ones Kiser played on. They truly have a system that they bring their players up in and develop them to do their job right. They ran maybe 5 core plays all night and LaVille couldn’t stop them at all. I enjoy watching them and I’m a LaVille fan. I’m looking forward to next week’s championship at Bremen. Not sure if these two schools have ever played each other but it’s been long over due!!4 points

Likewise nice to see familiar names still keeping up with the goings on of ihsaa football. Me , i took up hiking been hitting all the local state and federal forests trails in a 50-100 mile radius (and there are a lot in south central indiana) . A break from politics/covid/riots/ and my own personal misfortunes this year. And the panthers had a ho hum season in moriarity's retirement season. I like Gabe Johnson but im not sure how he will fare here. Moriarity had a longstanding familiarity of bhss since his playing days at martinsville were near the time period that saw the panthers go 60-0 in a 6 year period he knew the ins and outs of the program and how to coach them here. Even after the districts changed here in 2000-2010 that saw long time panther communities re routed to bhsn mo still came here and had a successful run. Now i feel like south will drift back down into the kirk kennedy / drew wood era's unless gabe johnson is as good a coach as mo which could work out but not extremely likely. Hadn't thought much of H.S. football but i did think about the ci pickem i ran for the last several seasons just wasnt up to it this year. Good luck to you all . Probably my only log in till next year...... P.S. did 'The Dude' ever come back? The guy siac guy that had the 812 poll every year?3 points

35-0 over Tech...ends the 23-game losing streak. House money next week against Ben Davis. The Giants should win easily, but Perry can put that losing streak behind them and build for the future.2 points

If you are so confident that trump will win. Take my bet. Biden wins, you donate 15 bucks to planned parenthood or black lives matter If Trump wins, ill donate 15 bucks to any charity of your choice. (You won't take it cause you don't think he's gonna win) Also the irony. You dislike a group of people cause they love the same sex but yet you are singing a song that was made popular by a group of gay men. (Same goes for Trump who plays this song after his cult rallies)2 points

Yeah the enrollments that were put out two years ago prior to the current cycle have East at 1,475 students which is the 62nd highest in the state. When throwing the success factor into things, that puts us right on the edge of 4A and 5A depending on how many teams they plan on having in each of those classes next year. 4A currently has 62 teams and 5A oddly has 33. Not sure why 5A needs to have more than 32 when 4A has a couple of spots to fill in for a full 64 team bracket.2 points

My only log in this entire season. Congrats Castle on defeating the bhss panthers it had been a few years since they knocked off the panthers. Only reason i logged in and it really wouldn't have mattered this year because BHSS HC is in his first year and the panthers were not very strong at the skill positions on offense. That being said im definately disappointed in the fact that every season no matter what bhss has had to drive to newburgh for the tournament game vs castle 5 times now (1983, 2015, 2016,2019,2020) they have played in the tournament and every game was played at castle . The teams have only met once in reg season and that was at bhss . Somehow bhss won 3 of those 5 road tournament games at castle , but that is a long long drive and certainly unfair for every game to have been played at castle . Seeding the brackets could be a solution most years . Seeding isnt perfect as we know but most years i believe the correct seed would prevail. Either way good luck to the knights im a fan of bhss and whoever is playing bhsn or martinsville. And next week castle has bhsn hope they(Castle) can get the W. Good luck ....2 points

After trailing 27-3, the Dragons mounted a furious comeback, scoring 28 unanswered points, including 14 posts in the last 93 seconds, to win 31-27 vs Franklin. They started 3 sophomores on the OL and a freshman RB. If you wanna learn how to play football the right way, come to New Palestine. You will have to play above your punching weight. Dragons are a tough out.2 points

Watched the Pioneer-LaVille game on the internet. Pioneer has speed that LaVille could not duplicate in practice. The Pioneer offensive line was very intentional and confident in what they ran. Pionee's offensive line opened holes that were just big enough for the speed of the backs to get through and they were in the secondary in the blink of an eye. That speed doesn't neet gapping holes to get through. LaVille just did not have any answers for the handful of looks that Pioneer gave them. Kudos to the LaVille Football team that could have packed it in back when they were sidelined early in the season. They came together, thanks in part due to a senior class that was hungry to lead and hungry for success. Coach Hostrawser and his coaching staff did a fine job of utilizing the talent they had this season. That roster might not have been a big one, but Coach Hostrawser made the best with what he had. They made adjustments from a year ago on offense and that defensive mindset that Coach Hostrawser brings continues to get the job done. Kudos also to a freshman QB that was thrown into the fire following an injury to their senior QB. He came in and did an admirable job given the circumstances. It was nice to see the Doyle kid return to add depth and chip in on offense, defense and wherever he could. That was a very young offensive line to go with a young quarterback, and a couple young runners in the backfield for Coach H to build around for the years go come. The defense was equally young, as at least half of those boys were underclassmen as well from what I could see. On this night, Pioneer the better team with more execution and weapons than the Lancers. Not the result the Lancers wanted, but this Pioneer team is a solid team. IMO, Bremen will have its hands ful next week for a sectional championship. Be interesting to see if the Lions can use the film scout to find something different, a wrinkle, a gimic to use to slow the Pioneer offense. Pioneer sets the play, acts like they don't care if you know what it is and challenges you to stop what they do. And do well, I might add. NJSP, Pioneer, and Winamac left standing in the HNAC. All the best to that trio as they move forward in state tournament. Early precincts say NJSP and Pioneer playing for a regional. as always the game is better from_the_sidelines0071 point

Ok, so re-reading through this thread. You mentioned you were born in 1987. Quick math puts you graduating in 2005. I will make you ONE (1) offer, take it or leave it. When President Trump wins, you need to attend a church service with me at my church (you pick the time, we have 4 services-815, 945, 1115, and 6 pm). I can come pick you up and drive you back. This would be $0 out of your pocket. If your candidate should win, I will make a yearly donation of $50 (you graduated in '05 so I simply switched the numbers) payable to the Gridiron Digest, each year on January 20th, beginning 1/20/21. Deal? @Irishmanas the witness1 point

After throwing another laser through Hendershot’s hands when it wasn’t necessary, Penix finally settled down and showed his elite talent. Just quit using the QB sneak or he’s going to get hurt again. Michigan next Saturday should be quite a game!1 point

So it's quite clear you aren't that confident trump is gonna win. If you were that confident you'd take my bet cause you wouldn't have to worry about donating to blm or planned parenthood. unless the supreme court intervenes... I don't think trump is winning. and the irony. you don't want the government to tell you what to do but you want the government to tell women what to do w their bodies. the hypocrital republican party.1 point

Wow! You folks have a real disinformation campaign over there. read thru my post: no bad comments about PH at all. Respect the team and their coaching staff. what I did read was disrespect to the SP team and coach. That is the kind of stuff that gets hung in the locker room. I don’t think any coach likes propaganda like that out there feeding fires. I will let the kids settle the debate out in the field. May the best team win.1 point

If my eyes are correct, this will be Mater Dei’s 12th straight appearance in a Sectional title game and they will be seeking their 9th title during that span. An impressive run.1 point

Carmel by 2 TDs or more. Both teams are trending in opposite directions. Carmel has been reeling off big wins in the latter part of the season, while Brownsburg is just surviving and holding on. Allowing a 300 yd performance to a freshman QB, albeit against Elite WRs for Avon, is very troublesome for Brownsburg. Easters was 4-9 with two picks against a less than stellar Avon defense. Carmel will ground and pound with White and Osborne, taking their chances in the passing game.1 point

I haven't heard anything MDAlum, but this is just a guess. Maybe it will be on IHSAA for the live stream? I know it will be on WQTY (93.3) radio. Darren Clayton and Miner Pride do the broadcasts and are very good. They keep the listeners informed of what is going on with each play (down and distance, how much a play gained, who carried or caught the ball, and who made the tackle or got the turnover). They also provide in game stats. They provide a lot of detailed information. More than most broadcast teams do.1 point

Look at Sagarin ratings in the conferences as a basis for comparison, although that won’t help with the “pound for pound issue,” and Sagarin is of limited value as far as the SAC’s “closed” schedule is concerned. Perhaps it’s a question without a clear cut answer.1 point

Congrats to Rensselaer Central and Tipton on moving on... wouldn't it be something if they should meet in 3 weeks ! ( a guy can dream can't he ?) ...dang .....another heartbreaking loss for Western to Lebanon.... Good luck to LCC tonight !1 point

If that’s the criteria, find a way to level the playing field before you start ranking the conferences. The SAC has members playing in 5 different classes. How many other conferences can say that? It certainly enhances their chances of having multiple tournament successes in a single season.1 point

Please. I can debate anything. 😄😂 Sounds like Carroll got a heavy dose of “Bart Ball.” A lot of teams have had a tough time with that over the years. The guy can coach.1 point

I think it was a pretty impressive stat that was snapped tonight. Tough night for Penn (used to have quite the following around here) and big night for Chesterton... As @johnny U called for the upset, Trojans losses on the year were by very good teams, folks dismissed Trojans bc they lost to Pioneer, no shame in that, but I stick up for small schools.1 point

i find it hilarious when people say ... they dont throw enough to keep good teams off balance... If you run the ball well enough, guess what, you dont need to throw. Why would I want to throw the ball if I can average 4-5 yards per carry. Im sure Eastbrook probably does that easily., just looked it up, 6.3 yards per carry on the year.1 point
