How did Craig T Nelson get the Cal Polytechnical and Minnesota State jobs? He should be blackballed for his clock management blunders at the end of the 1983 Ampipe / Walnut Heights game. Cost the Bulldogs a perfect season. The star players spiraled out of control after that devistating loss.6 points

Is it possible to run the table and win the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots on Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES?3 points

I don’t believe so. The offense is based primarily on misdirection. As players move up in levels, the defenses become more disciplined and rely more on reading keys and playing assignment football — all of which makes an offense based on misdirection less effective. The Wing-T is also not as conducive to throwing the ball as some other schemes. And offense today at the college and pro levels is all about throwing the ball.3 points

Eastbrook [9-0] at Lapel [8-2] Looks like another nasty night for football, Cold and rainy. Looks like RB1 for Lapel might be dinged up, only 4 carries for 20 yards. Not that he would be an issue for this Eastbrook D. Don't see much passing this game, this will be won in the trenches. With that being said, Eastbrook by 4 TDs. Running clock streak extended. Tipton [9-1] at Alexandria [4-5] Might be closer then most would think. Feel as though it may come down to turnovers and Special teams being the difference here. Tipton by 14 Good luck to all teams! Hope all stay healthy and injury free.2 points

It was a Cg jv game and the team they where playing I will not name because it seems you can not say anything bad about them and I do not want to get into trouble.2 points

Well firstly, ANY team can be beaten! So there’s that. I think as long as Luers stays humble and plays their game, they should win this Friday. Now next week against a juggernaut in Eastside is a different story. That game will be a down to the wire type of game. To me, it’s anyone’s guess. I think IF Luers were to squeak by Eastside, the winner of 36 presents their own unique challenge for the Knights. I’ve been saying to anyone who’d listen up here that Eastbrooks tempo on offense is unlike anything teams up here see and that could be a major problem for Luers.2 points

Kudos to Coach Zehner and Culver. They were well prepared and exactly what we thought they were. We do not see a lot of power running football teams on our schedule like that. Starting 5 Freshman on Defense opened their eyes. I wouldn't change it for the world. Coming from not winning a game in 4 years to finishing 5-5. That is a solid year especially missing our QB in 2 games. I knew we had to play near perfect on offense to keep close. And we did not play perfect, but we kept it respectable. Good luck to Culver this week. I expect them to win.2 points

Number 1) Treat every gun like it is loaded - ****Check it yourself***** - NEVER trust anyone to "tell" you it isn't loaded. Number 2) NEVER point your gun at something or someone unless you intend to destroy it, or kill that person. When Alec Baldwin (who is outspoken against gun rights) is handed a handgun that he is "told" is "cold" (meaning "not loaded") and proceeds to point it at anything -or- ANYBODY without first checking for himself to ensure it is indeed "not loaded" he is negligent and should be prosecuted for whatever degree manslaughter would apply if or when there is death. Too Soon? - IDC.1 point

It appears not, since nothing isn’t showing on the IHSAA Champions Network. I know Castle/North do not live stream their games, no idea on the Bloomington Schools1 point

Sounds like the play that set off the soft staff member. The bad call on the int was far worse in MTVs favor. But come on bruh, the three guys you mention, Rory and Brady could have all sit the bench and GS wins this game going away. If you feel slighted in some way regarding this season, don’t.1 point

There’s no denying the more you play a certain offensive style or tempo, the more used to it you get. I think the thing that fascinates me so much about Eastbrooks offense is that it’s a power run T-style offense that’s built to score 50 a night and also do it quickly. Most times you see teams just grind people with the T. No question! Prairie Heights is coming off a nice road win over a pretty decent Woodlan team. Now they get the #2 Knights at home? I’d be chomping at the bit if I was the Panthers! Yes, they are much better than last year. The offensive line is undersized yes but they can go bigger if they really need to. To me, the biggest improvement has been in their physicality as a whole. They’re bigger, faster and stronger than last year and play with a chip on their shoulder.1 point

This will the 104th meeting of the schools in football, which ties for the most games Memorial has played against one opponent (with Bosse). Memorial holds the overall lead 61-40-2. Central has won 9 of 16 in the Hurley era (since 2008) at Memorial.1 point

Linton is serving up ribeye? No wonder their fan base is so strong…they are eating good1 point

That they are! Eastbrook’s offensive tempo is impressive. I think it’s one of the more underrated elements of their game. I FULLY expect the winner of 36 to play Andrean for a trip to LOS.1 point

No by that statement mean MD recruits. Come on don’t play that we don’t recruit crap. You’re a 2A school in the middle of 4,5 and 6A schools. Kids leave to go the the better programs. I get that. But don’t say you don’t recruit them. Whether is HS or JR High. And yes there’s schools around our area who do not have football. Shakamak, WRV and Bloomfield. Wouldn’t count Eastern. They have it. Kids don’t leave schools like Eastern, Sullivan or North Daviess to come to LINTON to play football when they already have it.1 point

Gibson Southern doesn't even do it. They run more than attempt to pass. Runs vs. Completions is quite a bit wider margin.1 point

Eastbrook over Lapel by 42+ Tipton over Alexandria by 42+ I wish there was more to say, but Tipton and Eastbrook are just that much better than their competition.1 point

The Weekly quarter rules are as followed. and with the Stipulation that All Special Teams plays do not count 4 Varsity Quarters = 0 JV Quarters 3 Varsity Quarters = 1 JV Quarter 0, 1 or 2 Varsity Quarters = 4 JV Quarters This is gone over on Page 122 of the IHSAA By Laws book.1 point

I see MD winning 35-21. MD limited the offenses in the SIAC to just under 15 ppg, so I'm not sure LS going to have seen a defense as good as what they will see Friday night. Looks like weather is going to be a factor, which could cause problems for the passing game. Hope the field is in good condition. We played up there a couple of years back after some rain and it was really sloppy.1 point

The point FB16 is making and he's right (rolling my eyes saying that) is that Coach Moore's recipe is run first...he throws more with Jackson because of his talent. But CG has had tremendous success over the years to include state titles, state runner-ups, semi-state appearances, etc. throwing far less than this year....far less. Coach Moore is a Wing T guy and he turned CG into a power with that offense. That is why every CG bantam team runs the offense starting in 2nd grade. By the time they get to high school, the offense fits like a glove.1 point

And it was a poor analogy. Just accept it.1 point

I know Marian is Marian, and it certainly would not shock me to see them win Friday night, but from what bits and pieces I have read and seen this year with Tippy Valley, I could very easily see the Vikings winning that game. I know their schedule is nothing to the level of what the Knights have gone through, especially with the Three Rivers being extremely down this year, but they did beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the conference by a combined score of 89-22. They have some talented athletes on the offensive side of the ball and can score a lot of points. Add in a defense that has only given up double digits 3 out of 10 games and the fact that the game will be played in Death Valley... I really think this could/should be a great game. If it wasn't for the rematch between Mishawaka and Concord being selected for the Channel 46 GOTW, I would have really hoped Chuck Freeby and crew would have been at this game. I think it should be a great matchup.1 point

Out of reactions - but like 100 times. Should have had Rifleman fall on the ball. Although in the sequel we find out that Djordjevic ends up joining the Navy and becoming a pretty good fighter pilot.1 point

Agree...Coach Nickerson laid the Walnut Heights loss on the shoulders of "the Vooch".....destroyed the young man. Never should have handed off the ball pouring rain on the Walnut Heights goalline after the defense held....QB sneak it and its over baby!!1 point

If you have to ask why the field of a multi-billion dollar organization held up better than that of a high school who rents a former IPS field I'm not sure you'd understand even if you were told.1 point

Wouldn't any coach worth his salt want to maximize his team's number and length of offensive possessions, and minimize his opponents? Of course they do, which is why "four yards and a cloud of dust" is the perfect offensive philosophy. What matters is that you win, be it 7-0 or 40-39.1 point

Don’t know if anyone in the the state can cover # 23 from Merrillville. Fastest High school player I have witnessed with running back power and moves.1 point

Completely agree. I think next year we’ll see strides from every FWCS program. Each school has talent in the underclasses. I think next year could be even more competitive in the SAC. When I heard that particular take, I thought no way this conference is down. Indiana HS Football as a whole is on the rise and the SAC is arguably a top 5 conference in the state, even with teams like South and Wayne rebuilding and under new leadership.1 point
-
I just got to re-reading this and I completely agree. Was the SAC “down” last year when Homestead and Dwenger went 8-1 in the league? Carroll was 7-2, Snider 5-4 and Luers 3-6. This year you got 3 teams 8-1 one 6-3 and the other 5-4. I’m no expert but i personally thought this season was much more competitive.1 point

Thank you for what you do DK. I might also add that all of the content moderators on here are not compensated for their time (or their troubles)! I forgot to touch on the costs. Our collation is just over $200 a month. I budget it at $2500 a year. The forum software went up from $170/yr to $240/yr this fall (they hadn't changed the price for e over 10 years though). Our SSL certificate runs $399 every 2 years so $200/yr. We own the .net, .com, .org, and .info URLs which costs about $100/yr to keep the registrations up to date. To keep the hard drives on a 3 year replacement rotation it costs between $100/yr to $150/yr depending on the current market prices. Then there's all the hours I put in that would be billed at $75-$100/hr that I charge exactly $0/yr for 🙂. I'm sure that are a few minor incidentals I'm leaving out but it's pretty easy to see how quickly we reach an annual operating cost north of $3k. I don't mind sharing these numbers at all. I think I had a similar post on a recent years post where it was ask. I think this thing has far outgrew anything Tim ever imagined when he started it up.1 point
