I read on the Indiana high school football Facebook page that Merrillville has 20 D1 players. I swear to God I did.2 points

Many thanks to multi year boosters and probably our oldest booster @kingtut @FinePrint and @dcjjones2 points

If MD has gone south, then there are a lot of other local teams that probably wish they had a seat on that bus.2 points

The School City of Hammond has voted to reinstate fall sports for the 2020 season. It is expected that teams can start practicing Thursday with varsity contests being tentatively scheduled to begin on October 1.1 point

I KNOW that...you missed the point of my bringing that up COMPLETELY. Other schools charge a much higher fee if they allow the use of it at all.1 point

And here's a good article that's relevant to this board. @Irishman https://blog.ericgoldman.org/archives/2019/09/there-is-essentially-no-statute-of-limitations-for-online-copyright-infringement-apl-v-us.htm1 point

Elkhart played at Columbus East in week three and East is making the trip up there next year. I don’t see why Columbus North and Merrillville can’t play.1 point

A little extra time on a bus, big deal. The season will never go down in history for normalcy.1 point

C’mon folks... we have less than 10 weeks until the end of the season. Let’s see if we can hit the $3,300 target by the championship weekend this year! We need less than a $1,000 to do so.1 point

I don’t get that. The only difference from a regular week is a few hours on a bus. Sort of a dress rehearsal for one of those long semistate trips. It’s not like they have to walk to Merrillville. Pretty sure they’d be up to the challenge.1 point

What schools other than Castle routinely have Middle School, Freshmen and JV programs go at or near undefeated, then go .500 as a varsity program? All the other schools must really hit on all cylinders their varsity years . . . Might suggest it’s a bit deeper than be and flow.1 point

Turftoe has volunteered to take on the role of the Heel in order to stir the pot and create some exchange, it is either that or he is just a big tool. (I'm going with the former and not the latter.)\1 point

That they have let a talent like Matthew Stafford go largely unrecognized and unappreciated borders on the criminal.1 point

That's right. He made sure to bring that play up, referred to it has being part of one of the greatest NFL plays in the history of game, when questioned by Detroit media for another late game collapse.1 point

I would say this is pretty accurate. Unless I'm mistaken, last year's North seniors were the first graduating class to complete the youth league from start to finish. Central also benefited from North moving. North was a more diverse school. The inner-city kids that once attended North, no longer want to make that 45 minute bus ride. Instead they just go to Central. As far as others struggling, I'm unsure. Maybe some others can shed more light on those programs.1 point

If we just give everyone a participation trophy, this will solve the problem.....I JOKE, I JOKE! Since the expansion has happened, I think adding a spot or two on some positions is a must for All-Conference.1 point

Castle is usually middle of the pack or have been the last several years. Nobody in siac looks at Castle as a top tier program. Probably biggest underachieving team year in and year out. Central has been near or at the top the past 4 or 5 years. North has been awful since 2012 and is due for a couple good seasons. I wouldn’t say they’ve replaced anyone based off of being 500 last year and off to a good start in a down siac conference this year. Reitz had a couple bad years lately which can be expected after dominating for years.1 point

'There had to be a couple Hail Marys': Calumet gets green light to resume fall contact sports James Boyd On Monday night, the Lake Ridge school board held a meeting and voted to restart fall contact sports. Calumet will resume practice later this week but can't play in its Week 6 home game.1 point

Why is it that every four years Americans lose their shit choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich?1 point

I think we might learn some things this week. MD @ Jasper, GS @ Southridge & Lincoln @ Castle. I could see the road teams winning each of those, which if it happens might mean we have 2 really good teams (Central & North) who would probably beat everyone else 9 out of 10 times, and a bunch of other teams that might split with each other if they played 10 times.1 point

Yes, the rules provide for something called a coach-official conference. The coach can request a conference. It must concern misapplication of a rule, not a judgment call. If, after the conference, the ruling is changed, no timeout is charged. If there’s no change, a timeout is charged. If the team has no timeouts remaining, it’s a delay of game penalty.1 point

Thanks we're pretty proud to finally have first class facilities. Was going to shoot you a message to see if you were going to make the trip north this Friday. I think our defense is pretty legitimate but haven't been tested with a ground and pound team like we'll see this week. I still have questions about our offense, but we have a pretty good backfield and a very capable passer that comes from good bloodlines in that regard, he just doesn't have the size of his older brother just yet. And for the first time in my adult life, our kicking game is possibly the strongest position on the field! Here's a link to a story from Ken Fox about our soccer/basketball star turned kicker this year. http://elkharttruth.in.newsmemory.com/publink.php?shareid=1bc426f7a1 point

Technically 3A and 5A, I believe in 82 3A was the biggest class and 4A was introduced in 83. Completely shocked me they didn't win SIAC in 94, don't remember Bosse winning it. Bosse lost in sectional, Castle wins state, and MD (who finished 3rd in SIAC) was state runner-up.0 points

I'm so sorry, but I was sure my notification was pretty clear about that. I'll read my own statement again to see If I had neglected to state the information about when is the date of the event, and where it is being staged. No, I guess not; its all there! Saturday, the 19th.; moved it back to the Fort, where Carroll is the host.0 points
