  2. I agree with this statement because all these kids give up their Summers, Fridays, and countless hours working with coaches, teammates, and teachers. They sacrifice time, blood, sweat, and tears for their schools not just their teammates. Let the kids play and let them all dress.

  3. So let the teams have the option to bring more kids on their dime. Designate 75 kids to get medals afterward. I don't care how you have to do it but don't send those kids to the stands.

  7. I haven't seen a DAC pick 'em so I figured I'd post my picks here! Last year was my first year giving attention to the conference, so I don't know enough about these teams to give the same write ups that I do for the SAC teams, but I still want to give a crack at it. Andrean at Merrillville - Merrillville by 7 Chesterton at Hobart - Chesterton by 10 Crown Point at Lowell - Crown Point by 28 Lake Central at Munster - Lake Central by 28 New Prairie at LaPorte - New Prairie by 35 Penn at Valparaiso - Valpo by 3 Portage at Morton - Portage by 17 Warsaw at Michigan City - Warsaw by 10

  8. Hunt was actually more impressive with his arm tonight. 12/17 for 157 and 3 TDs with one score on the ground…in just one half of play. There were questions about the receiver position all offseason for Lincoln, but you wouldn’t have known at least for one night. Bosse QB Elijah Wagner gave the defense fits at times. He was most dangerous when a play broke down and was able to shift his way through to the second level. He’s without a doubt a top athlete in the conference.

  10. It was a mixed bag..Warren had dbs n backers that jumped routes..he threw the pick after settling in yet seemed to be able to read the field throughout the 2nd half...he will be fine..

  11. Warren had a few chances..the passing game just wasn't in sync for them as of yet..they had size n speed..the panthers really punched back early n a couple kids played both sides of the ball..the scheme of the run game did well against their edge rush..qb made some incredible runs when scrambling..rb1 showed he could step up..wr1 came off the bench..the defense buoyed them during turnovers n penalty miscues n ultimately won them the game..special teams were huge this game..

  12. Watching the game tonight showed me Warren is the not the Warren of old and those kids need to look deep and find some heart. That W on your helmet and Warren across your chest means something and they need to show it.

  25. Looks pretty good overall. Actually some pretty interesting games this week. Andrean hasn't beat Merrillville since 2017, but I think this year is one of their best chances since then, as the Pirates don't look to be as good as they have been in recent years. Think this one will be a low-scoring defensive battle. The team that makes fewer mistakes on offense and can generate some big plays on defense will win. Think Merrillville by 7 is pretty fair. Chesterton and Hobart will also likely be a low-scoring defensive battle imo. Both teams return a lot on defense but limited amounts on offense. I have to give Hobart the edge as they'll have the biggest offensive threat in the game in Calumet transfer WR Terrell Caldwell. I'll go Hobart by 7. Valpo and Penn I think will be close too. Should be a good early barometer of where both of these teams are at. Portage and Morton won't be a good game but it does have the narrative of Roy Richards taking his new team, Portage, back to the place where he originally made his name. Morton hasn't been nearly the same since he left. The most-interesting game of the week for me is Warsaw and City. A lot of people are taking Warsaw in this game, but I'm very torn. Last year at Warsaw the Tigers ran all over the Wolves, which was the start of a hugely disappointing season for a MC team coming off a Regional Championship at the time. But they've got a new (albeit young) coach and some really good players, plus this game is at Ames Field. Prior to last year's drubbing, City had one the previous two meetings by 20 and 19 points, respectively. How City does in this game should again be pretty indicative of how their entire season will play out. If they win decisively, they should be a player in the DAC and in 5A as a whole. If they lose decisively, they'll need to figure some things out quick, because with Jeff next week and then DAC conference play beginning, their schedule doesn't really let up.

  30. Sounds as if Boyle maybe has an advantage from a talent standpoint, and the recent tournament success is quite impressive. Although we haven't played GS in a few years because we are in different classes, what I can tell you is GS will bring a lot of fans and the team will compete until the final whistle regardless of the score.

  46. NV @ NC - I'm curious how NV will look this year. I know they lost some big oline men but still have their stud qb. I don't know much about NC but they were bad last year. I'll take NV 35 - 14 PH @ Linton - This would have been a great game a few years ago... not so much now. I've heard PH has shown some improvement throughout the summer but not enough to keep up with the powerhouse of Linton. Linton 60 PH 6 Seeger @ LCC - In my opinion this should be the game of the week. I'll take LCC in a close one 35 - 28 On MaxPreps it shows Attica at home against Finneytown out of Cincinnati. They don't look to be a very good program and I've heard Attica has around 20 - 25 kids on the team. That is great! I hope the program can get out of this slump! I'm taking the Ramblers 28 - 20 SV @ WV - I'll take SV here. I think they are the front runners to win the WRC Tri County @ Covington - Covington lost most of their weapons last year. I'm not sure they can be a pass on every down team anymore. I'll take Tri County 20 - 14 FC @ Southmont - Southmont is starting to get things rolling for their football program again. I don't think FC will be able to keep up with size and strength of Southmont. Southmont wins 35 - 20

  47. I can see why a fully seeded state tournament would be popular, especially amongst the Indy donut coaches. I agree 6A would be the perfect place to do it. It only works if there is some sort of geographic restrictions. Just looking at Illinois last year, their playoffs resulted in several St. Louis suburb schools (East St. Louis, Belleville, Collinsville) playing Chicago suburb schools - a 5 hour drive by car - for first round playoff games. East St Louis drove to Oak Lawn, IL to win 71-0. At least the win made the 10 hour round trip worth it, I guess. .
