  1. I don't know who's right and who's wrong with this particular case. But it seems Doyel always has an agenda....and perhaps laziness is there as well, but I am leaning its more of an agenda. I dropped the IndyStar because of their agenda and specifically the actions and behavior of Doyel on social media. He makes his biases very apparent. Its a shame, as I think Kyle Ned is a gem for the Star. I value following him on social media very much. Doyel, not so much.

  3. Arlington High School closed in 2018 (along with Broad Ripple and Northwest). The IPS school board decided Arlington would reopen as Arlington Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year. So Arlington Middle School field was actually a High School field that is now known as Arlington Middle School Field. Both Cathedral and Chatard used it as their homefield in the early 90's as well as Broad Ripple's football field. The field is natural grass and since Cathedral got an agreement from Arlington to use it Cathedral has paid for the Natural Grass to be resurfaced and cared for. Yes with excessive rain (hence the photo up above) it does get muddy, but it is actually in better condition than it ever was while Arlington High School was still operating.

  5. This has absolutely no relevance to this topic. You can make your own thread.... about whatever it is you're complaining about.

  6. Yes, and there have been several others. No big deal. Good kids and the transfers were not contested even though one was in the middle of the season. As long as it includes the nude scene with Leah Thompson you can count me in.

  8. I won't comment on the IHSAA "screwing kids over" bc i don't know about any of the cases, what i've read about this case is indeed troubling tho! BUT i 100% agree about Doyel, he's a ego driven hack!

  9. Why in the world would you defend the IHSAA, when clearly they are wrong in the handling of this situation? Afraid Robert might not let you work in the playoffs, only guessing you are an official by your picture. If you are not, then see the first question. I have worked in and for several schools and have many contacts around the state, and I know many incidents where hardships against the student occurred and help from the IHSSA was requested and denied, especially if they are a small, urban, or private school. They claim they are for students' best interest and yet those actual examples are hard to find. Feel free to show us one that is not from Carmel or Center Grove.

  10. Not a Dabo fan but it can’t be a coincidence that their decline coincided with Elliott and Venables leaving. Dabo is a cheerleader who trusts his assistants and is now being exposed.

  12. No, the CRP was put in place during the Daniels administration to attempt to take the final decisions out of the IHSAA's exclusive hands. The IHSAA now precludes a student from having an attorney present during their internal appeal, but an attorney can advocate at the CRP level. If the CRP upholds the IHSAA decision, the next step is filing a lawsuit. Michael has kicked the IHSAA's @$$ more often than not. Extremely good lawyer and man.

This small school/town political bullshit, plain and simple. And it has hurt a young man.

  15. IHSAAtv, the Champions Network of the IHSAA, has begun identifying and remastering historically significant State Final games from the past. When completed, those games will be found initially on our Facebook page and later archived on IHSAAtv.org. Follow us at https://www.facebook.com/ihsaatv. Currently we have restored only basketball, but future plans include many football games and a few other select sporting contests. Which games would you like restored?

  17. I was going to say if there ever was a transfer they should allow, this would be the one. It always smells a little vindictive when ADs don't sign off on these.

  21. If the player wasn't kicked off the team and he has to play to get an offer to go to college and he isn't listed on the Indian Creek Maxpreps roster, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say someone on the family side or the coaching side is lying. Why wouldn't the player just want to come back and play with his buddies if the coach showed nothing but love for his athletes? Why is the player so adamant about playing football, but won't for Indian Creek? Something isn't adding up regardless of who wrote the article.

  22. Why was Indian Creek protesting the transfer?? Why not just grant it?

  23. My initial observations from Week 1: FSU hit a HR in the transfer portal and looks legit. They have a nice path laid out in front of them to make the playoff Penn State's new QB is pretty damn good USC has a problem with their D which isn't good because.... The Pac 12 is going out on a high note. A lot of good offenses in that league Oregon Bo Nix >>>>>>>>>>>> Auburn Bo Nix LSU did not look like LSU to me on Sunday night. No run game and weak CB play. Drake Maye reminds me of Brees at Purdue in that he can throw a pick or 2 and still have a very solid performance. The 'Heels should be Top 10 by the end of the year I love the Colorado turnaround but I think they're still overhyped TCU is not a Top 25 team. Lost wayyyyy too much from last years team. I think they lost 16 starters. Even the highlites of the Minnesota/Nebraska game were ugly. I'll gladly welcome the addition of USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon to the BIg Ten.

  25. Unfortunate going into a game like this. Especially for seniors. But both looking at potential lengthy postseason runs so they have larger goals ahead.

  27. I have no clue what their NIL collectives look like but they'll continue to get guys so long as the dough is there and/or they stop putting guys in the league. I think the latter in this case is much more prevalent. As Temp said, this is where losing Elliott and Venables is monumental. Those two were the backbone of the program.

  30. Always wondered if Rod Woodson had gone to a top football program for college that would have been creative enough to let him do it all, how special he would have been. He had really good hands and off the chain ball instincts. He had extremely rare size and strength to go with the shift in the hips and sprinter speed.

  31. Doyel is a hack and always capitalizes on the low hanging fruit. His hit pieces know no end and transfer approvals don't get clicks so they also don't go public as often as they happen. I just don't think the IHSAA "screwing kids over" is as common as folks think. Its easy to pile on a few high profile cases and attempt to paint their outcome as the norm. Back on topic, the specific incident discussed in this thread seems awful and embarassing.

  32. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2014/08/08/indianas-controversial-high-school-transfer-rules-draw-scrutiny-in-wake-of-eron-gordon-case/13773041/ Here’s a link to a story from back in 2014 written by Neddenriep where multiple players are mentioned and the way in which the IHSAA handles transfers is questioned. The IndyStar has written about this quite a bit, especially Doyle in the past few years, and those articles have been discussed on this forum before. A quick google search of “ihsaa transfer indystar” will get you everything. But anyway, this is probably the most disgusting story we’re heard yet in terms of IHSAA transfer horror stories. Many of the “adults” in this story should be downright ashamed of themselves.

  33. I do agree that the use of imminent domain in the article mentioned is sad, I would say it was about a parking lot and not an Indiana school converting to turf from grass. The article could be a new topic?

  39. Carmel fascinates me. Tied 7-7 going into the final quarter against Homestead and finally winning on a pick-6. Homestead proceeds to get embarrassed by Noblesville the following week. Is Carmel good, bad, or average. How good is Detroit King? Trinity? Maybe Carmel is a wait and see until Week 5? IMG 56, Ben Davis 14 (hope I'm wrong) Center Grove big. Warren Central by a touchdown.
