WW JV hosted Providence tonight because Pekin didn't have JV. We won 26-22 in a hard fought back and forth game. We scored the winning TD with :40 left and sealed the win with an INT just outside of our endzone. Very proud of how the kids battled and never quit we were actually down 22-12 with less than 5 minutes remaining.

about 4 weeks into the season for all the teams playing. Every team in Indiana who got to play this weekend only was able to see each other or possibly a controlled scrimmage last week, with many of those not even going on. I know for our team, I am not panicing, as that was our 1st game vs a solid 4a team after only seeing 14-16 year old scout team players last 2 weeks. THAT IS A HUGE difference and the process is just now beginning. Not complaining, just the reality of the situation everyone is under. Got 9 weeks to get it right with our teams around the state of Indiana. Just my thoughts after reading comments on our site and online here since kickoff. Excited to be back and hope to stay back.

That’d be impossible since Illinois doesn’t start playing until week 2 in Indiana. And no. The series went 5-5 over the last decade. Classic rivalry that won’t end any time soon.

Its also even more ridiculous to quarantine hundreds of students or shut down an entire football team, for ONE positive test (which may or may not be a false positive result). Quarantining people who have no symptoms is ridiculous. And the CDC said as much earlier today with their newest update.

Indeed, that was the thing I noticed that #78 (78!!!) ran down a kid who is a track sprinter and pulled out an old Jay Cutler tomahawk from the late 90s. That was impressive. The kid was a highlight all night.....you would have thought they won state after the game, as half the team was crying tears of joy. They earned that, and punched us square in the mouth. We must get better.

Lack of prep time - not to mention COVID protocols and who could/could not be available to a team in a given week - will make for a hard to predict season. People on here will get "giddy" with all the upsets, but the truth of the matter is teams could be down/without several key players in a given week or 2, then have them back later. That is - if proper protocols are being followed 🤔

The head of the United Federation of Teachers, Michael Mulgrew, claims his squad won’t go back to work until it can be proven that every person entering a school building — everyone from children to visitors — has tested negative for the coronavirus. This is a fanciful goal and suggests that school employees alone are entitled to a level of protection that not even hospital workers enjoy. Mulgrew’s cries of “safety” are likely a pretext either for leveraging more goodies for his highly paid crew or to enable his teachers to glide on with the greatly reduced workload they enjoyed starting in mid-March. No recognition of the 1.1 million public-school students in the city as even an interested party registers in anything Mulgrew says. Still, Success Academy students will do relatively well. Many DOE students may find that they are essentially taking correspondence courses this fall, as many of them did last spring. “School” for them means getting tossed a packet of Google Docs materials each morning while their teachers watch TV or head for the beach, but at Success Academy every student has been issued a new Chromebook and instruction will take place face-to-face on Zoom calls, with occasional breaks. The quality of online learning is impressive. Nobody at Success Academy is using the pandemic as an excuse to loaf. This is full-strength pedagogy, within the constraints of remote communication. But only the lucky students who were admitted to the system via lottery have earned places at Success or the other charter schools. Other fortunate parents whose kids are in public schools in New York City and all over the country are “podding up,” as the neologism goes. A friend in well-shod Westchester County says a group of half a dozen or so parents has hired an excellent tutor, at a cost of $60,000, to teach their kids this semester in person, in a rented space. Westchester already has punitively high real-estate prices and property taxes, and no parent writes a check for $10,000 without a second thought, but in America’s bastions of the prosperous, sacrifice on behalf of one’s children is a deeply ingrained value. If the teachers’ unions block learning, wealthy parents will find a workaround. The longer the schools stay closed, the greater the gap that will open up between America’s most and least fortunate families. A moment’s contemplation about what each group looks like ought to make you cross: Black families are disproportionately to be found among the less fortunate, and not a lot of them can come up with an extra $10,000 for something they always assumed would cost them nothing. There exist stark divides between rich and poor, between white and black — and the teachers’ unions who refuse to go back to school are making those gaps worse. Educators are often to be found at demonstrations, waving a placard for this or that progressive principle. Yet their current policy is to inflict disproportionate pain on America’s struggling classes. Will they practice what they preach, or is all their marching just for show?

SV isn't in the WIC anymore, but I will make some predictions for you... Twin Lakes - could be a rough year in Clover Land. Greenwood - Big time game for IC, but the Woodmen have a solid team. Jennings County- Brown County got the W over a lowly Pike Central team. Sullivan- Miners have had the upper hand in this series here recently, Miners are young, Arrows win Edgewood - Monorvia hans won in a while. take the Stangs North Putnam - Southmont didn't play Week 1, so give the nod to NP in having a little game action. Northview- Knights lost in OT to TH North, should be the better team in this one. South Putnam- Not sure if 84 was necessary against Cloverdale. (How do you get that with a running clock) SP wins over OV West Vigo - Both programs struggled last year. Expect a low scoring grind it out game. Vikings win

The score at the half was 7 to 7 & Stink Town held EC to 60 yards in the first half. The third quarter saw a few things go against the Tigers (pick 6, TD taken off the board, trick play for 6 on an athletic play by EC's WR) The Trojans won the game and the score may show a "whipping" but the game was far from that even with blurred vision.

Knox is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Southwood is coming off 3 straight conference championships with a handful of returning starters. Both teams should be solid.

DT went to IU. He relishes any attempt he can get to take a dig at the Old Gold & Black.

Yessir. I miss the Sheridan-Hamilton Heights games. If you don’t get goosebumps when you see Coach Wright on the sideline, you’re not an Indiana High School football fan imo.

I think it’s both. Yes Tristan Polk, Wenkers Wright, and Zen Michalski are very athletic, very talented, and very HARD WORKING, kids. But coach Bragg is a really good Head Coach. And looking at the guys he has on staff, I’d say they’re pretty good themselves. It takes coaching, talent, and hard work, to win football games. That formula hasn’t changed in 50 years.

Marion has a new coach and lost almost all of their playmakers. Eastbrook is good and will have another good season. Mississinewa has size and some playmakers but have young QB. The QB options are both young and small but are athletic. Mississinewa also has a new coach but he did bring back the entire staff that Funk had but moved some around into different positions. Ole Miss took a thumping this week but they will get things together. They will probably lose 2-3 more games.
