  1. Teams from the north wear pink panties.

  2. I think 32 has represented pretty well the last few years. The winner won the next week in all but 3 years during this stretch. 2020 – Southridge (lost at semi-state) 2019 – Heritage Hills (lost at state) 2018 - Memorial (lost at state) 2017 – Memorial (won state) 2016 – Memorial (lost at regional) 2015 – Gibson Southern (lost at semi-state to state champ) 2014 – Heritage Hills (lost at semi-state to state champ) 2013 – Gibson Southern (lost at semi-state to state champ) 2012 – Gibson Southern (lost at semi-state to state champ) 2011 – Memorial (lost at regional) 2010 – Bosse (lost at regional) 2009 – Memorial (lost at state) 2008 – Memorial (lost at state)

  3. Usually produces the best team from the South, or the second best team that gut lucky and beat the best team...LOL...I kid I kid.

  4. The fact you are disputing that LINTON couldn’t even hang with those teams just shows you know nothing about them.

  5. How so? You flip schedules and MD is undefeated and LS likely has 3-4 losses (Jasper, Memorial, Castle and maybe North).

  8. As the season comes to an end soon, it is time to start posting openings. This topic is for posting of CONFIRMED head coaching openings, as well as assistant coach openings. Discussions about specific opening CAN be a separate topic. I say CAN be with emphasis. One of the unique features of this site is that fans can interact with coaches from various programs across the State. We want that to continue. What makes coaches hesitate to participate? Rumors as much as anything; but trashing coaches is another factor. the creator of this site, TA as he is known to many of us set those standards, and we continue to abide by those standards. Feel free to speculate on a coach you would like to see. But completely avoid "I heard......". hearsay is unacceptable, no matter how close to the source it is. So, what does confirmed mean then? Any social media post by the coach himself (facebook, twitter, instagram, Myspace 🙂), news outlets, school or program social media pages, and the DOE site or other sites that post job openings to apply to. Please include a link as well that shows the position is open. Let's keep some things in mind; all coaches have other full time jobs. Coaching takes up a LOT of time; and in most cases, they pay is minimal. These are not college or pro coaches with enormous contracts that are open to public criticism. These coaches have families too; so please keep that in mind. Rumors can be very harmful; so don't spread them.....that includes guessing or speculating why a coach is no longer with a program. We have had coaches in the past that have explored opportunities outside the current one they are in. Often times, they wait to tell their building or even district administration until they are beyond initial interest in an opening. There have been a few occasions over the years where someone had posted a rumor about a coach interviewing. An administrator saw the post on here, or heard from someone who saw it. When confronted, the coaches were in tough spots. They were either asked to withdraw their name or resign their current position immediately. That is the reasoning behind TA saying no rumors allowed. If you are unsure if you should post; you are more than welcome to send a message and ask first. Thank you all for understanding, The GID Team

  9. I don’t think anyone should say it’s a done deal for AC to make it to LOS. We have a really good team with a lot of speed, but the ACAC point differentials prove nothing. The conference is incredibly down, so it’s hard to say how good this team really is. The only legit team we played beat us (Eastside in week 2 21-19). Busco presents a legit challenge in round 1. They’re physical and have experience in the skill positions. I’d like to see how the Jets perform against a good out-of-conference team before saying LOS is at all likely.

  10. Short summary Picks: North over Central by 10, I think Central will put up a fight against their rival, but Brawdy tears them from above Mater Dei over Reitz by 13, going to be close for a bit, but Mater Dei pulls out late Bosse over Harrison by 9, GIVE ME THE DAWGS Jasper over VL by 40, Wildcats will have no problems Memorial over Castle by 6, this game will be back and forth, but I won’t be surprised if Castle ends up winning and the total points will be below 40

  11. Wow 15-20 minutes? Do they hit the rest park to whiz on the way?

  12. I think they’d beat 2 out of 4. People discount small 2A public schools. Sure we can’t bring the best in from all over Evansville. But I can guarantee you this. We’d give you our best shot. Probably have you on your heels. And who knows maybe even pull the upset. Talent doesn’t always beat heart. Good thing for LINTON is they have the Talent and the Heart. Guarantee if they meet MD is around 2, it’ll be a lot better than what it has been in the past.

  14. Wouldn't the grass effect both teams? Dwenger ran all over Luers with is small line. Snider should not have any trouble.

  15. Luers Field always does seem to have some long grass, doesn't it? I played on it a few times, don't particularly remember it standing out as creating performance issues. It was definitely nice to land on though, especially compared to the dirt over by Lane MS that we used to practice on. That ground would be like concrete about now. No bueno.

  16. Who cares? If you put 8 of the worst teams in the class in one sectional and they all have exactly 12.5% chance to win it, that doesn't make the sectional relevant. Competitive, perhaps, but not relevant. The other sectionals have at least one top-ten ranked team, if not two. As I stated earlier, it would be a tremendous upset for whoever wins 34 to advance further which is what makes it irrelevant.

  17. Since you brought it up and wish to continue the discussion about how irrelavant the field in 34 really is, let's take a look at all of the 2A North Sectionals. According to Harrell, 36 would prove to be the most irrelavant . . . far behind the field in 34. In 34 three teams are given at least a 21% chance of winning the sectional. The other three have clear-cut favorites with only a small chance of the remainder of the field to even have a shot at winning at sectional. Tipton and Eastside are the only teams given a chance according to Harrell. To me it is more relavant to at least have a chance to win, than to have little to any chance at all. On any given night, an upset can and will happen. But I guess that is why we play the games! I guess that is why everyone is included in the state tournament draw and not just a selected number from the schools in the state that offer football. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007 CLASS 2A SECTIONAL 33 SECT REGN SEMI STATE Andrean 73.58% 62.71% 33.05% 20.17% Rensselaer Central 12.04% 5.89% .98% .21% Wheeler 8.26% 4.35% .82% .20% Whiting 3.77% .58% .02% .00% North Newton 1.40% .35% .02% .00% Boone Grove .76% .06% .00% .00% Hammond Noll .16% .01% .00% .00% Bowman Academy .03% .00% .00% .00% SECTIONAL 34 SECT REGN SEMI STATE Pioneer 41.07% 11.85% 2.38% .62% Bremen 22.32% 6.21% 1.19% .29% LaVille 21.48% 5.77% 1.05% .25% Delphi 5.49% .78% .06% .01% Manchester 4.43% .75% .07% .01% Rochester 3.65% .57% .05% .01% Lewis Cass 1.21% .11% .00% .00% Wabash .34% .02% .00% .00% SECTIONAL 35 SECT REGN SEMI STATE Fort Wayne Luers 63.70% 43.93% 30.20% 20.29% Eastside 27.22% 14.50% 7.82% 3.99% Central Noble 6.06% 1.76% .55% .15% Fairfield 1.74% .39% .10% .02% Woodlan .69% .09% .01% .00% Bluffton .33% .04% .01% .00% Prairie Heights .26% .02% .00% .00% Whitko .00% .00% .00% .00% SECTIONAL 36 SECT REGN SEMI STATE Eastbrook 55.25% 27.79% 17.22% 10.29% Tipton 30.21% 8.17% 3.20% 1.11% Lapel 12.48% 3.12% 1.15% .37% Eastern (Greentown) 1.20% .15% .03% .01% Alexandria .45% .02% .00% .00% Frankton .29% .02% .00% .00% Blackford .06% .00% .00% .00% Elwood .06% .00% .00% .00%

  18. That may be, but Luers seems to be healthier now than what they have been. It'll take Snider's best performance of the season to pull this off. I'm still taking Luers.....35-31. If it rains, I like Snider 24-21.

  19. Yes totally agree, I suppose weather is some of the blame as I know of several Irish fans that are going to resort to house viewing parties (with copious amounts of alcohol) and the fact CG is on fall break will effect their crowd size. I am more surprised there is not more hype for this game than their already is....but at the end of the day- in reality- this is not a make or break game for either team. Come Monday, both will still be ranked #1 in respective classes and anything less than state championship would be major letdown for both teams.

  20. No, it means you know nothing about Jasper and Memorial.

  21. Sectional 46 probably has the nod for the potential southern rep. Probably Sectional 44 for the north. Spoilers would be Winamac in the north and Covenant Christian in the south. Dark horses would be Traders Point Christian in the north and Springs Valley in the south.

  22. Oh, ok I get it. You thought I meant miners had an edge over wildcats. I meant to infer that Linton seems to be on top of their game, edgy, not that they have an edge on anybody.

  23. All I can say to this is, what I already said. until Linton proves that they can compete at MD’s level.

  24. Typically, if you are in sectional 28, winning sectional is more than 50% of the work......With Brebuef and West Lafeyette playing in the first game, that could very well be the state champion. I am hoping that a team from the south has a very different plan.

  27. I hope so…but for it to happen, GS likely has to beat 3 good teams for the second time this year…MTV might not have the history, but Southridge and HH have both flipped the script on GS come playoffs. just gotta stay focused 1 week at a time. Getting out of the sectional is literally 50% of winning it all

  30. Your statement regarding Marian may be true but also ignores the fact they were almost inarguably the second best team in 3A just last season and was the only team to come within 10 points of Chatard in the tournament. They aren't the same team as last season, but they have been one of the better programs in the class over the last six seasons. 6 straight sectionals and 4 regionals in that stretch. Their 4 semi-state losses were to West Lafayette, Brebeuf, and Chatard twice. Two of those losses were by less than a touchdown. They haven't reached the summit but they're knocking on the door. I'm not sure they are better than Brebeuf this season but I've certainly seen bigger upsets happen. It's not like we're talking about Crawfordsville or something.

  32. I certainly wouldn't rule out a run by Marian. They've played a tough schedule and a bunch of larger schools and appear to have improved from when I saw them play earlier in the year. They also have one of the top playmakers in 3A in Greg Atkinson. I wouldn't be that surprised if they beat Brebeuf or West Lafayette. I'm certainly expecting them to play one of those two and I don't think they'll be in over their heads in that matchup. In the south, I'm going with Danville. I hope Gibson Southern plays up to their lofty ranking but want to see them go to state sometime before I predict it to happen. At the end of the day, most are probably expecting a matchup of 2 future Boilermakers with Strickland chasing Allen around on Thanksgiving weekend.

  34. https://nypost.com/2021/10/13/dad-arrested-at-school-board-meeting-rips-ag-merrick-garland/ A Virginia father who was arrested at a school board meeting has ripped Attorney General Merrick Garland for painting him as a domestic terrorist — saying he’d just been trying to raise the alarm about his daughter getting “sexually assaulted” in a school bathroom. Scott Smith, 48, became a symbol of angry parents confronting school officials when he went viral at a June 22 meeting of the Loudoun County School Board as he was wrestled to the floor and arrested. But on Tuesday, Smith told Fox News that he had been trying to raise the alarm about his daughter’s sexual assault — and only flipped out when officials and then another parent denied it. It appears to be backed up by video of an arrest, which captured his wife shouting, “My child was raped at school and this is what happens!” Smith told Laura Ingraham that he finally decided to speak publicly about his daughter’s ordeal because he says the same alleged attacker was charged with another similar attack — and because the AG suggested angry parents like him were “domestic terrorists.” “This DoJ thing — that’s scary,” Smith said. So this man's daughter had been raped, and his reaction to being called a liar resulted in his beating and arrest in front of the school board......... I know a guy, that if this were him being treated this way after his daughter had been raped, this school board meeting wouldn't have ended this well........A school board, just like every other form of government works for us, not the other way around.

  40. Oh man! My last wagon master was a year ago tomorrow. I need to look up my basketball officiating schedule and see if I can get a post game master. The master would end up at center court if I ate it in pregame.

  41. This is the only thing I can think about before Friday. Double Wagonmaster for the win. It brought the Huskies good luck last time! Although I would like to see our DT get a pick 6 this week instead of the ball bouncing off his shoulder pad into the arms of another Husky. He had a clear path to the goal line. After the deflection, there was a return by the other player, but not a pick 6.

  42. I gotta say this game is the de facto state championship, for all classes. Winner of this game is the true king of Indiana HS Football. Which is why neither team should hold back. Each should cruise through their respective tournaments, regardless of which players they chose to field. So lay it all on the line this Friday. Final Score: Center Grove 19-16 Cathedral

  48. You’re a good dude. Heard this “blah…blah” legalistic stuff before….sorry. Still….not buying. Even 30 some odd years post law school I can still flog most any position enthusiastically. Still, some things are to obvious to ignore….and, yet, someone will always validate them. Sectional 28 ALONE tells me everything I EVER needed to know as regards the IHSAA and fairness (specifically as regards Catholic schools) in Sectional pairings. After that, everything else is smoke, mirrors and ABSOLUTE BS. Not that Bobby Cox has anything to do with things these days but I shared a Butler U track locker room with him roughly 40 years ago. No way he is drilling down the way you just did. Again…Sectional 28 says it all. In Indy, Chatard, Cathedral and Roncalli will be paired whenever and wherever possible….PERIOD. We accept it….but we expect folks to not blow smoke up our posteriors and tell us it’s somehow fair.
