I think there are more than a few P/P supports left. That said, the same old arguments year after year got old and only takes a page or two to burn out now days when it comes back up. Perhaps everything that can be said regarding contraction has been said as well, I'm not sure. I think the GID has played a large part this season it helping to coordinate Covid Replacement games....that is a huge value add in my eyes.8 points

Indy-centric? Puh-lease. Sure, as a population center, there are a lot of teams, fans, etc. in the 317, we’ve got fun-loving pinheads like me all over the state! Down south, we have itiswhatitis, kingtut and a lot of posters from Linton who know a hell of a lot about football and are very enthusiastic. I’ve also seen Vincennes, Gibson Southern, schools in the Hoosier Hills Conference repped, as well as other schools such as West Washington. The Fort Wayne and South Bend areas also have lots of posters which vid good because those are two areas of the state I don’t get too much. The East Central area of the state has been kind of quiet, but I feel that area needs to kick it into a higher gear. Then again, football is just an extra/curricular activity, so maybe they’re just getting some conditioning in for basketball season. Lastly, my stomping grounds—anywhere from the Beef House to Lake Michigan and US 41 to Logansport. Lots of football in the Region, it’s normally pretty good, but if you’re looking for style points, you’re taking this thing way too seriously. Moving south, you’ll find Coach Nowlin in Jasper County, some HNAC posters a bit to the East, Foxbat in Lafayette, and good ol’ Donnie Baker on the Vermillion River.4 points

Shopping malls exit for the consumer while HS football exists for the participants. Granted some of the play is not good. But the players are afforded the opportunity to play which, in my opinion, is what is most important.4 points

I don't blame you, everyone likes to see Jasper lose because we have a good athletic program and win a lot. I would like to take SR and HH and replace Bosse and Harrison, but that's part of the SIAC package. But, like I said before, I would rather have a competitive Castle game in a loss than a blowout Washington or Princeton game in a win each year any day.4 points

Yep, there's a few of us p/p folks around. But DT, I think it is the COVID-19. Fewer people can attend games. Fewer people are invested week to week. Fewer people connected. Fewer people discussing things online. Down here in SW IN, add to the COVID issue that we've also lost some good post-season rivalries due to success factor (Gibson Southern & Memorial, Southridge & Mater Dei) and it makes things exciting.2 points

Winning 2 sectionals or a regional in a class is a pretty good indication you are competitive at that level.2 points

Yeah not a very region friendly forum. Just like real life rest of Indiana doesn’t want to claim us and we aren’t good enough to be part of Chicago metro area.2 points

I wonder if the IHSAA considers seeding the tourney as a first step on the “slippery slope” of a tournament qualification system. The inevitable consequence of seeding is those 1 vs. 8 or 1 vs. 7 opening matchups, which will get everyone very familiar with the Mercy Rule, if they aren’t already. Once we have a few years of first round massacres, the IHSAA will realize the futility of those 1st round matchups, and simply eliminate half the field, let everyone play a 10th regular season game, and the tournament will be 5 weeks instead of 6. I just hope it happens in my lifetime ... but they better get started pretty soon. 🤣2 points

That's just plain ignorant. The IHSAA has no authority to dictate where families can move.2 points

If the school wants to have football let them have football. Maybe they suck and maybe they suck for years. But one year they might do something awesome and win a sectional and it would be magical for those kids. Not my place to kill those dreams and programs.1 point

What I see is a lack of kids playing any sport without adult interference. Kids just don't meet at the park, choose up sides and play. It's a new day of parent interference, uniforms, and officials. Can't play without em. Got to have the most expensive equipment, best looking uniforms. AAU and Travel have stunted the growth of the player mentally, making it a coaches game more than a players game. A sad state of affairs indeed1 point

What a tough week of predictions...starting with the easy ones: MD over Harrison 4 scores Reitz over Bosse 3 scores Jasper over North 2 scores - could be closer if the Huskies can regain their offense VL edges Memorial - Alices have played really well at Inman Field Central over Castle 2 scores1 point

Jeff was still getting beat by county Rivals at Harrison and McCutcheon. Now that is not the case. Jeff had talent, they sent 3 D-1 Kids from a team that didn't win any games. The conference helped, but Moore also helped Jeff. He brought in both assistants who were OC and DC, and now the OC is the head coach and still has the DC.1 point

I tend to agree. This forum has a definite central Indiana/Marion county and surrounding doughnut counties bias. But again, that is where the most concentrated population centers and most of the wealth are.1 point

Has the quality of New Palestine's endzone film suffered during this time of struggle? You can judge a program in decline by whether they have an endzone camera and how well it is used.1 point

Valpo would need to win a semistate to move to 6A. They got 3 points last year (sect-reg-ss) and would need to repeat that path this year. A regional win would leave them with five points. (they may move up due to enrollment, though).1 point

Word on the street is Clovers are down to about 12 kids. And I hear the Panthers are out the next 2 weeks, but return the week of sectionals. If those two teams don't play, it'd be a 6 team sectional. Definately very interesting.1 point

Lowell will get past this. Although it was unfortunate, I’m glad it was caught and self-reported. Me, too—but sometimes I feel old...1 point

Been preaching that for years (not that anyone listens and/or cares). Lock the HC and AD’s in a room with seeding criteria- ie Head-to-Head, common opponent, etc...AND LET THEM FIGURE IT OUT!! It’s really not that hard- seen it done for years in wrestling rooms across the State. It is sheer laziness or unwillingness or the “by God we’ve always done it this way” mentality of the IHSAA that is sooo frustrating. One small change, an hour meeting could make the tourney that much better, and really wouldn’t take anything away from it. Rant over1 point

First thought came to mind, probably because we did an intrasquad scrimmage last night for our 6th graders, The Bombers vs the little giants. @Bobref I was told I throw a decisive flag, however, I had to work on my not hitting the whistle first on a live ball play when I saw an infraction. that was tough.... ok back on topic, I was disappointed the little giants did not even attempt anything remotely close ot the A of PR, however they did run a mean 24 Power.1 point

How many coaches in the HHC vetoed or petitioned the IHSAA to not sign off on Spegal's immediate eligibility? The fact that Delta, the school he transferred from, signed off on his transfer all but ensured the IHSAA wasn't going to get involved. The IHSAA exists to play mediator when needed. This clearly wasn't an issue that needed addressed.1 point
