  1. Not too happy bit this particular thread. Winning games can be tough given injuries, the general youth of the team, among other factors. But these kids are out there fighting, let's not make fun of their efforts.

  2. Not to be a jerk but I'm not sure this is the place for this post. A topic worth discussing for sure, but its bound to get political and become a discussion that isn't about sports.

  3. I don't get involved in a lot of this silly banter, but I can assure you that college coaches could give a rip about the style of offense that a school runs. Size, Speed, and other measurables, combined with many intangible things like character are the only things any coaches are worried about.

  4. Well...I guess we now know why Lburg wanted to wear their white uniforms Friday night at home and why they changed to have a white-out...Coach K is wanting to sport his new gear he just got...Man you looking good Coach K, here he is spotted sporting his new gear last week...haha

  5. I have always been a pro-seeding, pro-“all-in” guy. Though I certainly wouldn’t die fighting on the “all-in” hill. Well......to be honest, I’m only prepared to die on the LOS State Championship pizza buffet hill.

  6. Didn’t Jeff return another donation a couple of years back when the story broke? Good for Pappa John, giving back.

  7. Just like other states have qualifying formats? Just like other states don't have all in? So you just use 1.65 just because other states do? I'm asking for a friend.

  8. Mike Goebel is the epitome of class in Indiana HS sports... Football and wrestling. Bravo. Can't wait until you and your team team return to The Jungle with the (not your) cadre of lunatics. Nothing but respect from Heritage Hills, football and wrestling, to Mater Dei and Coach Goebel.

  9. Statistically, it will happen. I don't think using statistical anomalies will boost the idea that some school corporations should cut the support, which is exactly what he is advocating for, indirectly or in this case directly. Shame. We are on a platform that aims to support Indiana HS football programs and their supporters. Mudas dissent is worrisome. My father always told me that you shouldn't complain unless you have a better alternative. Not sure what his is.?

  10. How is that a problem with the Success Factor? The ones that have an advantage and benefit from it would be moved up if they capitalize on that. Just like public schools that have advantages over other public schools and capitalize on it. In other words, RESULTS generate movement as opposed to general pre-classification. The problem with the Success Factor is that its timeline is too short and its potential as to what it requires to remain in a higher class might be too high although that has recently been addressed by making it harder to drop back down. Outside of that, if the idea is to match like competition with like competition, it's not a completely bad way of applying a similar standard across the board, both public and private and urban and rural and higher socioeconomic and lower socioeconomic that can certainly address real advantages while not penalizing for perceived advantages; especially allowing for much more individualized cases as opposed to broad brush approaches.

  12. Regardless of the level of play, to the two teams playing, it's about the most important thing in the world going on at that time. They deserve the third teams best effort regardless of the quality of the two teams playing. When the tournament starts, one team's seniors are playing the last game of their careers, that demands my respect, and demands our crew's best effort.

  13. My son's team did that in 1995, won a sectional with three consecutive road games. Certainly a unique situation!

  15. I hate to speculate about the next GS/HH matchup (assuming it happens--I'm hoping GS overlooks Salem, they won't). HH was playing with the swagger and attitude of the old days in that game. GS flat out was ready for the bus in the 4th quarter. They got some momentum when they came out and scored quick in the 2nd half. Anyone that knows anything about GS knew that 21-0 was nothing that they couldn't come back from. I remember telling by brother in law at the half that Coach Hart may very well come out in the 2nd and feed our rear ends to us. I trust things will be different next game (again, if it happens)...score will surely be closer. We must remember also that these are children if anything they are inconsistent. This group of kids is determined, it has been a while since I have seen an HH team with this much attitude.

  16. Not going to get into this pissing match. What an asinine statement. You do what works well for you and your program. Not entirely sure but last I checked- SR has held up pretty well against MD- which in most years carries itself pretty well in the SIAC. Move on troll- nothing to see here.

  18. Sadly, with Memorial and Southridge getting bumped up, most of the questions won't get answered this year because the PAC & SIAC won't meet in the tournament. No Memorial v. GS or HH. No Southridge v. MD. Kind of stinks in terms of GID banter, but a couple of questions will get answered this Friday.

  21. So what happens with the rankings if there is a 5 way SIAC conference title? How do we rank them then? Heritage Hills # , 5 SIAC teams tied for #2 and then the winner of GS/SR #3? Lol

  22. Who's pretending Gibson didn't do anything ??? You make a lot of assumptions over my 1 small comment, I didn't say Gibson didn't move the ball I was actually at all three of those games and saw every play , I know Gibson had success moving the ball just pointing out the turnovers came when the team was trying to come back from 3 touchdowns down. as far as turnovers on downs Heritage Hills turned it over on downs also with about 1 minute left in first half on Titan 21, At the time I said it was huge for GS because we had a chance to go up 28-0 and that's a big difference then 21-0, Especially with Titans having ball to start the half. . Also the Southridge game you talk about the game being 7-7 at half and talk about Raider mistakes in 2nd half but no mention of the HH missed chances in the 1st half, HH had a missed field goal in the first half and had 2 fumbles on another drive, we recovered both but pushed us back and ended up turning it over on downs. HH played their 2 best games of the year against GS and SR and I'm sure if they meet 1 or both again the games will be dogfights. Anyway I'm done talking about the first game its in the past and only reason I replied again is its hard to resist when you use words like " If you don’t believe me " making assumptions what I'm thinking over my 1 sentence reply. My only point was when you get buried like that against a good team its a huge hill to climb and Yes the turnovers hurt the Titans chance to comeback and impacted the game in that way but if you don't fall behind 3 TDs could have overcame the turnovers and had a chance to win. When a team scores the first 21 points of a game and last 21 points a game its hard to overcome..

  23. Well, here it is...the final week and one last regular season shake of the 8 Ball... Pirates vs. Lions The Lions will come to play, but the Pirates will be looking for redemption and are fighting for a winning record. Pirates will make the Lions walk the plank. Wildcats vs. Wildcats I’d take the Wildcats without a doubt! It is a no brainer...all in on the Wildcats. The green ones. Trojans vs. Hornets Trojan defense holds the Hornets to one score or less. The offense continues with a healthy dose of power running and efficient passing and puts up at least 35. Spartans vs. Bulldogs C ville will pull out all the stops. They will play with nothing to lose. I think they keep this one close and get that zero out of the W column. Spartans beat the wooden boxes. EIAC Game of the Week Boom Boom vs. Whiskey City This game will carry emotion, excitement and everything the gRANDest show on Turf (natural, not artificial) loves about Friday Nights. The Tiger clowns will be out in full force and I expect the ball to be flung around the field all night. These two teams will play with intensity Second only to the time they played EC. This should be a showdown and perfect ending to an EIAC regular season. BONUS: Saw this posted in another thread...KFI Senior in action. “Let’s slow ‘Er down.” “Please...Quit lookin’ in the backfield...read your keys. Alright? Ok? That’s the only thing hurtin’ us is the pass.” Close your eyes and you might think you are on the SD sideline! Without the blow up helmets, smoke bombs, pregame proposals, white jackets and late halftime arrivals of course. Classic football action back when the only thing bigger than the shoulder pads were the neck rolls!

  24. @Muda69 this thread is in really poor taste. That’s just my opinion and i personally don’t approve of openly mocking 20 something programs and their players. i don’t know man...even from you I would expect better.

  26. Possible that he is not on this continent?? I knew they battled this in previous years around this time...

  27. I agree with Gipper. Tough to call teams out when no one knows what is going on internally at this time Injuries, numbers down, etc., play a part. I'm pretty sure it is tough on these teams who have worked hard in the off season, stayed true to their teams, come and play their hearts out every Friday night---to be called out.

  28. Thanks for bringing up those memories Nowlin. My first coaching job at the high school level was at Chatard in 92. We saw all we wanted of all those Roncalli guys.

  30. I think Coach Simmons has been doing a great job this year. Back to Lafayette Jeff though, I would love to see a Jeff vs Carmel/Snider showdown to see who goes to Lucas Oil. Would be a hell of a game

  31. This is nothing more than deja vu all over again. This is the annual, let's discriminate against "unworthy" teams. How about we just leave things alone and let things play out. A seeding wouldn't be a bad idea but it's not totally necessary. You're going to have to play the best somewhere along the line.

  43. hhpatriot04, Jasper and Gibson Southern have one common opponent. Jasper lost to Heritage Hills by 3. Gibson Southern lost to Heritage Hills by 35. I just don't see putting Jasper behind Gibson Southern at this point.

  44. Southridge is definitely in front of us until we play each other. Maybe a few others as well. Still time to improve before the post season. Meaning after we play southridge head to head the victor will be ahead.
