  1. Obviously the only hope BNL has is a torrential downpour and a Harvest Homecoming on the same night.

  3. I will never understand why a coach doesn’t play the backup’s in a game way down or way up. That’s another reason why Madison will always be a dumpster fire in football. Down 54 and you play the varsity the entire 2nd half. Now next year when the kids that saw no action get to play they too will get it handed to them like this years team. Columbus East - 61 Madison - 14 3 minutes in the game.

  4. It's really hard to talk about the games when the other teams fans don't participate. I hate having only one side's point of view.

  7. Have you every considered the respect for Miner Football after we Won the State Championship? No longer a need to play petty arguments about this an that. Thats where al the posts came from. Miner Football is STRONG and the whole State knows it. I as a Miner Alumni have no reason to engage in crap. We Play We Win. We Play We lose. Dont need much board talk other than Miner Prides weekly report s a Blessing. That should be all we need NON COACHES!

  8. I apologize if that offends you... I just saw Lebanon was 4-4... I do see they've won 3 of 4... but a couple of those were 0-8 teams... I just not being from that area I don't necessarily know the rivalries.. true Lebanon is 4A... I tell ya what.. I'll add it! Oops.. I don't think I can add it.... sorry again.

  9. BNL (2-6 overall, 2-3 in HHC) at Jeffersonville (3-5 overall, 3-3 in HHC) Madison (1-7, 1-4) at Columbus East (6-2, 5-0) Jennings County (3-5, 1-4) at New Albany (3-5, 2-3) Floyd Central (6-2, 4-1) at Seymour (4-4, 3-3) Not trying to step on anyone's toes- just thought I could help out 🙂

  10. JCD football has another bye week so I'll be heading to the Dawg Pound tonight to watch Coach U get back on the winning track. I hear the Spartan cheerleaders have a couple special guest performers tonight so hopefully the Casket Boyz are ready to play.

  13. Slick John reporting after a week hiatus. Let's just say it had something to do with a late night in Vegas, search warrents, a kicked in window, a missing shoe, and a bloody sock. Northridge (-7) @ Memorial- Difficult one to pick here as both teams are probably playing their last winnable game of the season. This is potentially the last game at Crimson Charger Stadium as well (at least as far as I know). Plymouth (-14) @ NorthWood- Plymouth will be on grass for only the 2nd time this season. I'm not sure that plays a huge role, but it is something to note. NorthWood had a disappointing performance last week after an extremely hopeful first half. NorthWood has more fans cheering for them this week than normal in the form of Minutemen and Tigers. New Prarie eventually awaits Plymouth and East Noble evenually awaits NorthWood in their respective sectionals. Warsaw @ Concord (-1.5)- Great game shaping up in Dunlap. Winner has a chance at a share of the title. Warsaw has the ability to control the ball enough to keep Concord's offense off the field. Turnovers and special teams play a role, but I'm not sure in favor of which team. Wawasee @ Goshen (PK)- Sagarin has Wawasee as 4-5 point favorites, but I just can't count out the Pride of the Redhawk and their desire to win the Traveling Chief Trophy. Bonus Odds! Odds to win at least a share of NLC Varsity Football Championship 2019 Plymouth (6-0) (OFF)- Clinched!!! Congrats to John Barron and the Plymouth Rockies Concord (5-1) (9:5)- Statistically the best defense (at least in points allowed) in the conference will face BartBall for a chance at a share of the title. Warsaw (5-1)(9:5)- Did they anger the Panthers enough last week to motivate them to be competitive against the Rockies? NorthWood (4-2)(OFF)- Eliminated, but still play a huge role in potential multiple champions. Northridge (2-4)(OFF)- Squaring off with Memorial in a game for 5th/6th. Memorial (2-4)(OFF)- .....One last ride.... Wawasee/Goshen (0-6) (OFF)- Squaring off in a game that will be so bad its' good.

  17. LCC Beats Western 21-20 in a great Game. LCC's first 6 plays led to punt and 2 turnovers. After going down 20-0 in the first minute of the 2nd quarter coach Nay called timeout and lit a fire in knights. Knights came out of the timeout with a new attitude and marched down the field for the first score. From there the defense played lights out and shut the Panthers out the rest of the way. Huge win Headed into the tourney

  18. Floyd RB - wow that cat is fast! Broke a 95 ya touchdown and made it look like everyone else were standing still lol. was a fun game to watch- Seymour 4 turnovers doomed them as well as not being to cover a pass- still. After seeing the conference- it would surprise me if Floyd doesn’t win the sectional.

  20. BNL played much better after Jeff fan the second half kickoff back for a TD. Jeff got a bit tired and has several holding penalties but didn’t turn the ball over once. Jeff missed a 29 yard FG to tie the game at the end. I’d assume they have improved as the season has went forward. They seem to have a good head coach whose instilling some discipline. I hope he can get the support he needs. But I thought the same about Glesing going there last year.

  22. If you can figure that out you can solve the health care, immigration and the gun control issues that we face in our country. No matter what BNL should not have lost that game at home. Only positive I can find from it is no excuses were made.

  25. That was no slam at you, Gipper. Just an observation about how things are going in society. At my work, the break room can be full of people. All of them (except me) are looking at their cell phones and NOT talking. Really weird. If you say something to one of them, they give you a look like, "don't bother me I'm playing a game or I'm texting or I'm watching a stupid cat video". I've often wondered what would happen if cell phone service was lost for just 24 hours. I think some people's heads would explode because they wouldn't know what to do.

  26. I think before Linton left the SW7 and ended up in 2A we had a lot of traditional rival games that had A LOT of history. And that always generated a lot of talk of how good of a team the opponent had this year and how this year they would give Linton a run for their money etc etc. Now that Linton has really tweaked their schedule we haven't really established any solid rivalries with long histories and that takes some of the back and forth conversation out of it. But you guys are right, there has been a slow down on conversations about Miner football and I'm not entirely sure why that is. We have a really good team this year, and I would expect a little more chatter about them but it doesn't seem to be there.

  27. Like a lot of people, you use the term “recruiting” like it’s a bad thing. Check the IHSAA bylaws. They don’t say anything about recruiting. They talk only about “undue influence.”

  29. Just can’t see Roncalli leaving the CCC at this point (if that is what you are saying). Add that I am hard pressed to imagine Martinsville agreeing to be in a conference with a P/P.

  32. Senior night at Seymour - so emotions will be high. Not sure whether this helps or hurts the Owls ( i would assume it would help as they have notoriously come out slow all year). It's all going to depend on which Seymour team shows up.

  33. BNL (2-6 overall, 2-3 in HHC) at Jeffersonville (3-5 overall, 3-3 in HHC) Madison (1-7, 1-4) at Columbus East (6-2, 5-0) Jennings County (3-5, 1-4) at New Albany (3-5, 2-3) Floyd Central (6-2, 4-1) at Seymour (4-4, 3-3) You certainly have to wonder if the weather was a player for Seymour last week in being able to stay so close with East. They started out the season well, then have struggled since. Seymour is a tough place to play, especially for the Highlanders. This one could go either way. The same can be said for BNL/Jeff. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way. And while I'm at it, you can't count out JC sneaking up on New Albany. I think the East game is the only sure fire thing this week! Good luck to all teams and stay healthy heading into the tournament.

  35. What does that have to do with anything , as Mishawaka slotted Marian and Elkhart into weeks 1 and 2 . Dean said they are honoring their contract . I love how people love to blame Penn , but Mishawaka left the NIC , that is the real reason we won't have this game for at least the next 4 years .

  43. If I was a betting man and I feel like I know Coach Shanley pretty well, with the program he has developed there is not a chance that his team lost anyone because of grades. Culture change in land of Bronchos is not just ON the field but it has been OFF the field as well. I know they are excited for the opportunity to take on the Pirates and speaking with Coach Shanley just last week before the draw even came out, he knew exactly what Merrillville has and knows his team is in for a huge fight up in the 219. Coach does not leave any rocks unturned. I wouldn't even say it was an upset if the Pirates won, just because they are that talented as well. Going to be a very good game week 1 of sectional 1

  44. It is a fun debate, but you are correct. The IHSAA loves the all in system. Most of the state is fine with it. Going to take a tremendous amount of change in leadership and motivation to see anything different happening. It is fun internet fodder, but those who want change, are not connected to leadership roles.

  45. Indiana seems to have the right amount of teams & a relatively small geographic area in order to have ALL-IN high school postseason tournaments in every team sport. States like OH, IL, CA have too many schools. If you change the football tournament so that teams must "qualify" for the postseason tournament, then (in my opinion) it's only fair to do that in every other team sport. There's no way the IHSAA will ever do that. So I will never understand why so many Indiana high school football supporters want to take away something good from Indiana high school football players.
