  3. I'm sure that this topic has been approached in the past, but why is there still home field advantage in the tournament after sectional? IMO, Regional & Semi-State should be played on neutral site between the two schools. Since there is no Sectional Rankings, how do they decide who gets homefield? Basketball and Baseball do it, why can't football?

  5. Honest to God, I was there pregame for about 30 minutes. I was walking up to the ticket booth with the money in hand, toes still not thawed out from 2008 Enlow, no kids playing anymore......and I kept thinking “Why in the Hell are you doing this when the game is live in your own toasty warm home just 10 minutes away?” At that point, I did an about face, walked to my car, called Papa John’s and picked up a pizza that I ate in my kitchen while watching the game. Felt a little guilty but when I bail out on anything involving cold weather (which I often do these days) I blame it on the injuries acquired on the Enlow Polar Expedition of ‘08.

  6. Another side note, #2 (4A) East Noble barely beat Plymouth. East Noble beat Mishawaka by more points.

  8. my brother went to school at Carroll College in Waukesha and coached HS football in Wisconsin at a few stops. He was able to get 2 free tickets to any game, so I was able to enjoy Madtown USA for the Ben Jones game winning FG during the Orton days. We ruined their homecoming. HOWEVER, the tailgators and folks couldn't been better man. I told my brother, If I knew this place was here in HS it would of been ova!!!! Be prepared for the 2 student sections. EAT POOP vs FUDGE U and of course Jump around

  9. Yawn... I’ve been booed by experts before. But at least you didn’t say anything about end zone cameras. Mission accomplished.

  10. It's actually, The River Moore. It IS located in the wheat land of Western Austrailia. It was named in 1836 by Corporal Patrick Heffron after his expedition leader, George Fletcher Moore, Advocate-General. The river is prone to periodic destructive flooding. And they don't have any end zone cameras to monitor the flooding. Hope this information helps you with your geography report. Look it up on Wikpedia. I dare you!

  11. I like that pick. Decatur Central's Kenny Tracy has been electric this year, so will Cathedral be caught looking ahead to the New Pal matchup? I'm also going out on a limb and taking Northrop over Dwenger. It was a 9-7 game the first time these two teams met, so if Northrop can score 28 can they win the game?

  12. How about Decatur Central and Cathedral? I have seen a lot of talk about the Cathedral and New Pal match-up, but this one looks like it could be a game as well.

  13. Use the 5608 Whitestown Parkway address. That will take you to the 2nd entrance west of the Indianapolis Rd. roundabout, which is closest to the football field. If you arrive early, you'll be able to park in the lot next to the field, just not in the row closest to the field. A few of us were asked to move our cars in week 9, as those are "parking pass" spots for tailgaters. If you don't arrive early enough to park in this lot, you'll be directed to the east side of the new high school building, which is a hike to the entrance of the football field. Beautiful facility. Probably not enough space on the visitors side for an LCC crowd, but there should be extra space on the home side. There's also a hill just beyond the north endzone the would provide extra seating for chairs/blankets. Not much space around the field for camera equipment. Visiting staff will just have to be resourceful. We don't have a big tripod, so we were able to film from the hill in the north end. You can film from the south end, but it's tight, and TP has some maintenance equipment in the way. May not get great angles, but there's space to film from the corners.

  16. Thank you for picking against the Pirates again. Your pick is the kiss of death for any team other than the Bad Boyz. Our QB is on fire right now! About 260 total yards and 5 TD’s! That’s something to take note of...the Tigers will have to choose which barrel of the Blunderbuss offense they want to try to stop...over 1000 passing yards and nearly 2500 rushing yards...stop one and the other will attack. A nearly perfect game will need to be played. But I think the Bucs are ready. As @Tanka Jahari said in another thread... ”In the Indiana high school football tournament anything isn't not possible on any given Friday night.” I will hold hope for another week. Your Trojans will need to work this week to fix a few things. I am confident that they will right the ship and do the EIAC proud in the 4A bracket. I foresee Blue, Red and Black in regional! We will make believers out of the Stinktown!

  19. Agreed. I've had Alexandria fatigue ever since a Tiger poster led with "Down goes Frazier" after they beat Blackford. Woof The explosive offense scored 16 against a 2-8 1A Wes-Del squad at home to begin the season and if you remove lifeless teams like Elwood, Frankton, and the September version of MG from the slate there isn't much to beat your chest at. I will agree that they have some individual standouts at the skill positions but in the end, Eastern did the Tigers a favor by allowing their fans to focus on basketball and avoid another chilly Friday night on the bleachers listening to those annoying cowbells as Eastbrook hangs half a hundred.

  20. I’m sorry. I have no idea about the seating arrangement. I’m just trying to figure out how to beat the best coach in the history of the Wabash River Conference for the second time in the same season. I’d bring lawn chairs just to be safe.

  22. Alot of way too confident new prairie fans on this thread. New prairie does not have the secondary to slow down Plymouth's passing game. This will not be a blowout game.

  23. I'm sure you are right. Linton ran this offense for a couple three years at one point as I recall. I suppose it is the basic element of spread offenses... I was just giving those not familiar to offensive schemes a more descriptive run down on what we saw. Lannert was very quick for sure.... and they caught our backside DE and LB's busting in many times on those Happe keepers.. looked like that was well scouted and that Happe was looking for it!

  30. I just discovered the thread on here, "Hoosier Conference 2019," which has even more good information on all this. Had I just seen that first, oh well, thanks to all who responded to my question. I am a product of one of the schools which was -- this is from a teenager's perspective, even though I'm old now -- kicked out of the Mid Indiana Conference because of how football playoff points were awarded. 2A schools received fewer points for a win over a 1A, and no points when we beat them. All we really knew is suddenly we were on longer bus rides, asking "Where is Whitko?" Those Three Rivers Conference schools were tough to beat. Especially any game at Death Valley. At the time the TRC was 1A schools but now it looks like it, too, is comprised of 1As, 2As, 3As. Western is 4A now? Wow. Their basketball gym wasn't very big! But, their teams were always good. Best wishes to all in the playoffs.

  32. I'm here for you Bob any time you need to talk. There are so many things we could discuss. We could talk about the weather or officiating mechanics. We could discuss why the Hi-Pod X31 is the best endzone camera for performance and value. We could even just talk about how our day went. Just let me know Sir.

  33. They pray harder. I've heard, but it's only an unconfirmed rumor, that the prayers are in Latin. By God, such speech could never be allowed on public school grounds, let alone a team pregame communion. And they say it was grape juice, not wine on public school grounds!

  41. What if the heater was purchased by the football program? Our kicker has a kicking net. It is an net we have purchased by the program. Does both teams need to be provided a kicking net? To me, this is a classic case of the IHSAA over regulating crap that cannot be regulated. I think Bobref is partially right. Regular season all those answers are no. If you move into tournament play, I would say the heater is a no go unless you provide it on both sidelines.

  42. Yeah, but think of the IHSAA as the gift that keeps giving ... GID's thread count would be halved if the IHSAA changed things.

  47. Go to game management and get them involved. I once was working at Jimtown - a place every official loves to work - and there was a guy from a local newspaper who insisted on standing right up next to the sideline. I had my linesman move him back. So he just went over to the other sideline and did the same thing. The line judge moved him, but the next play he was right back. So, I went over there and explained that this was a safety thing, and he had to stay behind the restraining line. His response: “I’m just doing my job. Why don’t you go back and do yours?” You can probably guess what happened next.

  49. There is no coming to senses. Only laughing as everyone changes their picks to save the delicate feelings of a few members of the board. I will let my previous picks stand. tigers, trojans and the mighty swashbucklers get another week of football. the Dawgz get to clean up the locker room, put away the equipment and wonder how they could have fallen this far from the mighty power they once were. enjoy the night and the rest of everyone else’s season!
