  1. In these divisive days, perhaps some shared memories of the experience might bring us more together. Share your thoughts, special memories, etc., regarding the 9/11 tragedy here. I watch this every year on this date. This commercial aired only one time: during the 2011 Super Bowl. And then it was withdrawn, because Anheuser Busch did not want to profit from it. I wouldn’t drink Budweiser if I were dying of thirst. But I’ll drink one tonight. Never forget.

  3. Looks like this thread has been hijacked by 17 year olds taking jabs from the school computer labs, aka their parents' basement in the year of covid. Or at least I hope these are teenagers. Looking forward to watching two great programs go to war tomorrow night. I hope it's more exciting than most on here are anticipating. Go Trojans!

  4. A statement from a epidemiologist and a photograph of Dr. Fauci violating and ignoring his own "coronavirus rules" are not political statements. The thread was started for the purpose of celebrating the cancellation of games due to the coronavirus. Those posts are responses to the primary reason the thread was started.

  8. Not belittling the situation at hand, but you do realize people died because they decided to get in a vehicle and drive and got hit by another vehicle or had a single accident fatality. Are we supposed to just stop driving all of a sudden?

  11. You all don’t know how much I love this. Floyd Central quarterback Tristan Polk said the noise leading up to Friday only put a chip on the team’s shoulders. “We played hard all three weeks so far and now four. We felt disrespected, disrespected that New Albany would be ranked higher than us,” he said. “We felt we played better teams and better against the same teams we played. We were offended and we came out and shows how much better we were.” Hungry team.

  27. Yea, I got it the first time. As I explained to you, you are going off of numbers that were counted in 2018 to get the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 classifications. The most recent numbers are the ones I listed.

  29. The list I looked at said 2020 - 2021. But whatever. You just won't give it up will you? I've explained it to you twice. The comparison was between Perry Central and Mater Dei with Mater Dei being much bigger. If you are going to troll someone at least keep up.

  33. It's about time the NLC thread gets back to the first page of the GID gentlemen. Back in the day (2005 - 2012) when the likes of Kingsmenfan1 and others popped in to throw shade on the likes of the clan that swam in the depths of the NLC thread with SF this thread never left the first page. SF still likes to swim up from the depths to lurk in this thread, but not having the former connections to the top of the NLC food chain I once had, I can't give accurate in depth predictions anymore. Now it's just hyperbole (which admittedly, some may argue it was back then as well) which I am not a fan of knowingly doing. Keep it up guys, keep ole SF in loop!! Heading back to the depths to lurk........

  38. This is one of the predecessors to Harrison High School in West Lafayette. Back in 1970, Harrison HS had its first year after merging Klondike High, Battleground High, and East Tipp High. Those three names still remain as feeder middle schools into Harrison ... East Tipp Middle School, Battleground Middle School, and Klondike Middle School.

  39. How can you not have a conference champ? It will not be difficult to figure out by years end. Go by win % and head to head losses as tie breaker. Don't think NASA or MIT will be needed to figure it out.

  42. Linton got over the hump, that's what killed off a lot of the chatter on here. And since then they are 3-3 in the tournament with all 3 of those losses being by 19+ points. The "old days" were mainly filled with arguments trying to defend the program and show that it could compete (and win) with anyone in 1A, as they proved that they could. The "rivals" have changed, it's no longer about beating Ritter, Scecina, LCC it's about beating Southridge and Mater Dei; and then eventually more potentially bigger and better teams. So far they haven't shown the ability to do that. I don't believe that will be the situation permanently, I think it will change soon - very soon - and then we'll start to see some new rivalries be built and more interest pick back up.

  43. I feel like coaches do. The two players I know that have contracted it, said it was nothing more than a common cold. Science shows it's not a serious threat to that age group.

  47. It wasn't the certificate in this case... It was me not setting up the permissions correctly. The user running Apache didn't not have read access to the new certs. A couple command line entries to tell SELinux it was alright for Apache to read those and we were rolling again.

  48. Who said it offended me, Irishman? And are you sure the late, great Tim Adams would approve of such language being allowed on his creation? I don't think so. “Profanity is the effort of a feeble brain to express itself forcibly.” - Spencer W. Kimball You appear to be the exception Mr. Nowlin, not the rule. And I thank you for your considerate behavior.
